Abstract:Singular limits of the rotating stratified Boussinesq equations with ill-prepared data are investigated when the Froude number and Rossby number tend to zero at different rates. The reduced systems are derived, respectively, for the rotation-dominant and stratification-dominant cases through the developed three-scale fast averaging method.
