Compared to our previously reported method with a multistage optimization technique for dispersion relation preservation during back-propagation, the new method further extends the applicable frequency range down to 5 Hz, thus the new algorithm is able to compensate the Q effects accurately for the low frequency signals that are often critical for subsurface imaging. This broadband Q-RTM algorithm is based on the finite-difference method, which simplifies the procedure of parallel computing with GPUs, especially for large scale projects. The broadband dispersion relation preservation during the Q-compensation process is realized by introducing extra time-domain integration optimization terms to either the real or the imaginary part of the complex modulus. This method is validated by the theoretical analysis and the numerical experiments. The results are comparable to a regular finite-difference RTM without Q (serving as the reference solution), with all the missing structural information recovered and the blurred events refocused accurately.Presentation Date: Wednesday, September 18, 2019Session Start Time: 8:30 AMPresentation Start Time: 8:30 AMLocation: 214CPresentation Type: OralKeywords: reverse time migration, Q, anisotropy, attenuation, TTIPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3215232.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byModeling of scattering losses using energy transportManuel Alejandro Jaimes Caballero and Roel Snieder15 August 2022 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2019ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2019 Pages: 5407 publication data© 2019 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 10 Aug 2019 CITATION INFORMATION Tong Zhou, Wenyi Hu, and Jieyuan Ning, (2019), "Broadband finite-difference Q-compensation engine for accurate Q-RTM," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 4281-4286. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3215232.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsreverse time migrationQanisotropyattenuationTTIPDF DownloadLoading ...
