Abstract:Objectives To compare clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis for different histologic subtypes in early cervical cancer. Methods Patients who underwent radical surgery for stage IA2–IIA2 cervical cancer with squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, or adenosquamous carcinoma between March 2006 and February 2014 at our institution were retrospectively evaluated. The two-sample t-test was used to compare the mean values of continuous variables. The Chi-square test was used to assess differences in the distribution of categorical variables. Survival curves were generated by the Kaplan-Meier method using log-rank test. Univariable and multivariable analyses were performed using Cox regression analysis. Results Of 5181 patients evaluated, 4510 had squamous cell carcinoma, 488 had adenocarcinoma, and 183 had adenosquamous carcinoma. Compared with squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma was associated with earlier stage, smaller tumor size, less lymphovascular space invasion (26.7% vs 37.9%), less deep (>2/3 depth) stromal invasion (30.4% vs 36.2%), and more ovarian metastasis (4.2% vs 0.7%) (all p<0.001). Compared with adenosquamous carcinoma, adenocarcinoma was associated with earlier stage (p=0.011), smaller tumor size (p<0.001), less lymphovascular space invasion (26.7% vs 41.5%, p<0.001), and less peripheral nerve infiltration (5.7% vs 15.4%, p<0.001). Except for more peripheral nerve infiltration in adenosquamous carcinoma (15.4% vs 8.4%, p=0.002), no significant differences in other clinicopathologic characteristics were noted between squamous cell carcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma. Five-year recurrence-free survival was 85.1%, 78.2%, and 72.3% for squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and adenosquamous carcinoma, respectively (p<0.001). Corresponding 5-year overall survival was 89.7%, 83.1%, and 79.6%, respectively (p<0.001). In multivariable analysis, adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma were independent prognostic factors for worse recurrence-free survival for adenocarcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma (HR 2.594 (95% CI 2.030 to 3.316), p<0.001) and for adenosquamous carcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma (HR 2.105 (95% CI 1.517 to 2.920), p<0.001), and overall survival for adenocarcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma (HR 2.976 (95% CI 2.226 to 3.977), p<0.001) and for adenosquamous carcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma (HR 2.295 (95% CI 1.579 to 3.338), p<0.001). Conclusion Squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and adenosquamous carcinoma carried distinctive patterns of clinicopathologic characteristics. Adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma had worse survival outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma.
Endocervical Adenocarcinoma with Micropapillary Component, a Distinct Histological Subtype Associated with Aggressive Behavior and Poor Prognosis: A Clinicopathologic Study of 10 Patients

Abstract:Objective. Endocervical adenocarcinoma (ECA) with a micropapillary component is considered to be associated with aggressive behavior and poor prognosis. So far, only limited studies investigated this histological subtype of ECA in the literature. In this study, we present a clinicopathological analysis of 10 such tumors. Methods. We retrieved ten ECAs with a micropapillary component between January 2014 and July 2023 and analyzed their clinicopathologic features. Results. At diagnosis, nine tumors (90%) were of advanced clinical stage (FIGO stage ≥ IIA), nine tumors (90%) exhibited deep stromal invasion (≥2/3 of the cervix), and three tumors (30%) showed parametrial involvement. Lymphovascular invasion was evident in all tumors (100%), and lymph node metastasis was found in eight tumors (80%). Among the 10 patients, six were alive without disease (60%), one had a recurrent/later metastatic tumor (10%), and three died from the disease (30%). Furthermore, eight tumors were positive for PD-L1 expression (80%), while only one tumor showed HER2 overexpression (10%), and one tumor exhibited p53 mutant-type staining (10%). Conclusion. Endocervical adenocarcinomas with micropapillary components are associated with aggressive clinical behavior and a poor prognosis, which can be found in various conventional histological types of ECAs regardless of the HPV status. The high prevalence of PD-L1 expression suggests that patients with micropapillary ECAs may be good candidates for PD-L1 inhibitor treatment.
A Clinicopathologic and Prognostic Analysis of 115 Cases of Endometrial Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinicopathologic character for endometrial carcinoma and prognostic factors. Methods One hundred and fifteen patients with endometrial carcinoma accepted primary surgical treatment from June 1997 to June 1999 were analyzed retrospectively. Results The average age of the patients was 56.7 years. There were 90 cases getting the follow up results. The 5 year survival rates of 90 patients were 97.6% and 90.9% in surgical-pathologic stage ⅠandⅡ61.9% and 0 in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ.The differences of the 5 year survival rates between the stage Ⅰ,Ⅱand stage Ⅲ,Ⅳ were significant. The rate of extent of pelvic and abdominal cavity lymph in pathological grade Ⅰwas 3.1% (1/32),grade Ⅱ 5.6%(3/54),grade Ⅲ 33.3%(6/20) (P0.025 ). Conclusion The surgical-pathologic staging of endometrial carcinoma is able to assess prognosis objectively. The pathological grade is related to the extent of pelvic and abdominal cavity lymph metastasis.
Clinical Analysis of 72 Cases of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplsia

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate multiple biopsies and cervical conization in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer.Methods: Two thousand and five hundred females aged 30~49 years in a high risk area for cervical cancer underwent liquid based pap smear,high risk human papilloma virus(HPV) testing(13 sub-types),visual inspection of the cervix using acetic acid(VIA) and visual inspection of the cervix using lugol's iodine(VILI).Those with positive findings in any of these four screening tests underwent digital colposcopic exam,and some had biopsies taken from 4 regions of the cervix as well as endocervical curretage.Seventy-two patients with pathological findings of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)2 or greater(including CIN2,CIN3,Carcinoma in situ(CIS) and microinvasive cancer) underwent cervical conization(the conventional first-line treatment),with final treatment(regularly scheduled follow-up or more extensive therapy) based on surgical pathology.Results: Pathological findings of the cone biopsies were correlated with that from colposcopy-directed biopsy in 39 patients(55%).In 16 patients,the diagnosis pointed to cancer;five patients increased from CIN2 to CIN3,and one increased from CIS to microinvasive cancer.Eleven patients(15%) had less findings on surgical pathology,for a total discrepancy rate of 45%.Conclusion:(1)The use of multiple biopsies should be promoted in screening for cervical cancer.(2)Cases of CIN3 should be actively treated.(3)Cervical conization should be the first line method used to diagnose and treat cases of pathology-confirmed high grade cervical changes(CIN2 and greater).
Endocervical adenocarcinomas classified by International Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Criteria and Classification: a clinicopathological and prognostic analysis of 286 cases

Abstract: To investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of International Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Criteria and Classification (IECC) in classifying endocervical adenocarcinomas among Chinese women. A total of 286 endocervical adenocarcinomas diagnosed from January 2013 to December 2019 at the Women's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine were identified and included. The cases were reviewed and reclassified based on IECC. The histological types were correlated with p16 immunostaining, human papilloma virus (HPV) mRNA status, the clinicopathological parameters including the International Federation of Gynecologic Oncology (FIGO) stage, and clinical follow-up data. The patients aged from 19 to 77 (median 47) years. There were 223 patients at FIGO stage Ⅰ, 22 at stage Ⅱ, 38 at stage Ⅲ and 3 at stage Ⅳ. The IECC types included 213 (74.5%) HPV-related adenocarcinomas (HPVA), 60 (21%) non-HPV-related adenocarcinomas (NHPVA), and 13 (4.5%) adenocarcinomas, no other specified (NOS). The major histological subtypes in HPVA and NHPVA were common type (=156, 54.5%) and gastric type (GAC, =46, 15.9%), respectively. The p16 positive rates in HPVA, NHPVA and adenocarcinoma, NOS were 92% (173/188), 26.6% (17/64) and 61.5% (8/13), respectively, and those of HPV mRNA hybridization in situ were 89.4% (144/161), 0/18 and 7/13, respectively. Compared to HPVA, NHPVA was more frequently associated with older age, FIGO stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ, neural involvement, lymphovascular invasion and aberrant p53 expression (<0.05). Univariate survival analysis showed that age (>47 years), NHPVA, GAC, FIGO stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ, neural involvement, lymphovascular invasion and aberrant p53 expression were indicators for a poorer overall survival and tumor recurrence (<0.05). Mucinous HPVA showed worse clinical outcomes compared to usual-type HPVA (<0.01). Multivariate survival analysis demonstrated that FIGO stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ, NHPVA and aberrant p53 expression were independent indicators for poor overall survival while FIGO stage Ⅱ-Ⅳ and GAC were independently associated with tumor recurrence (<0.05). The two broad IECC categories, HPVA and NHPVA, not only provide morphological links to the etiology (HPV infection), but also have significant clinicopathological and prognostic relevance.

Abstract:Background: Most cervical cancer patients worldwide receive surgical treatments, and yet the current International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging system do not consider surgical-pathologic data. We propose a more comprehensive and prognostically valuable surgical-pathologic staging and scoring system (SPSs).Methods: Records from 4,220 eligible cervical cancer cases (Cohort 1) were screened for surgical-pathologic risk factors. We constructed a surgical-pathologic staging and SPSs, which was subsequently validated in a prospective study of 1,104 cervical cancer patients (Cohort 2).Results: In Cohort 1, seven independent risk factors were associated with patient outcome: lymph node metastasis (LNM), parametrial involvement, histological type, grade, tumor size, stromal invasion, and lymph-vascular space invasion (LVSI). The FIGO staging system was revised and expanded into a surgical-pathologic staging system by including additional criteria of LNM, stromal invasion, and LVSI. LNM was subdivided into three categories based on number and location of metastases. Inclusion of all seven prognostic risk factors improves practical applicability. Patients were stratified into three SPSs risk categories: zero-, low-, and high-score with scores of 0, 1 to 3, and >= 4 (P=1.08E-45; P=6.15E-55). In Cohort 2, 5-year overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) outcomes decreased with increased SPSs scores (P=9.04E-15; P=3.23E-16), validating the approach. Surgical-pathologic staging and SPSs show greater homogeneity and discriminatory utility than FIGO staging.Conclusions: Surgical-pathologic staging and SPSs improve characterization of tumor severity and disease invasion, which may more accurately predict outcome and guide postoperative therapy.

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the diagnosis and differential diagnosis,prognosis and early prevention of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.Methods:Total of 120 cases of cervical intraepithelial lesions were followed-up,and observed the characteristics and classification.Results:The diagnosis of CINⅠin 12 cases(10%),CIN Ⅱ grade 44 cases(36.7%),CIN Ⅲ 64 cases(53.3%).CIN Ⅰ-Ⅲ grade cervical loop conization 77 cases(64.2%),CIN Ⅲ grade hysterectomy in 43 cases(35.8%).Conclusion:Cervical three-step examination of the cervical CIN is useful to early diagnosis and early treatment and reduce the cervical carcinoma incidence rate and mortality.
Independent Validation of Distinct Clinicopathological Features and Prognosis among Usual-Type, Mucinous-Type and Gastric-Type Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Categorised by New WHO Classification (2020).

Abstract:The new World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumours of the female genital tract (2020) divides endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC) into human papilloma virus (HPV)-related adenocarcinoma (HPVA) and HPV-independent adenocarcinoma (HPVI) to underscore the morphological and pathogenetic correlation. It may be potentially prognostic. In this study, we appraised the new WHO classification in an independent, single institution-based EAC cohort from China to assess the clinicopathological features and prognostic value among tumour types. Our study cohort contained 402 consecutive, surgically excised EACs consisting of 298 (74.1%) HPVA, 88 (21.9%) HPVI and 16 (4%) adenocarcinomas not otherwise specified (NOS). Usual-type (55.7%) and gastric-type adenocarcinoma (GAC) (18.2%) was the most common type in HPVA and HPVI, respectively. Block p16 staining (94.7% vs 24.4%) and HPV mRNA signal (89.4% vs 0) were more common in HPVA than in HPVI (p<0.001). HPVI or GAC were more frequently associated with prognostically adverse variables including old age, large tumour size, deep invasion of the cervical wall, high tumour stage, spread of the upper genital tract, lymphovascular invasion, and mutant-type p53 expression, compared to HPVA or mucinous/usual-type HPVA, respectively (all p<0.001). In univariate survival analysis, HPVI had a worse overall survival and higher tumour recurrence compared to HPVA (p<0.05). Mucinous-type HPVA showed a worse prognosis than usual-type HPVA, but better than GAC (p<0.001). Multivariate survival analysis demonstrated that HPVI was independently associated with a worse overall survival and tumour recurrence (p<0.05) while GAC was an adverse prognostic factor independently of FIGO stage (p<0.05). Our findings validate the value of the new WHO classification in prognostic stratification and pathogenetic correlation in EAC and its subtypes.

Clinicopathological Features and Outcomes in Different Histologic Subtypes of HPV-independent Endocervical Adenocarcinomas

Abstract:Background: We aim to analyze the clinicopathological features and outcomes among different histologic subtypes of HPV-independent endocervical adenocarcinomas（HPVI ECAs). Methods: Forty-five HPVI ECAs, including 16 minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA), 17 non-MDA type of gastric adenocarcinoma (GAS), and 12 non-GAS HPVI ECAs were studied. Data of clinical features, pathological characteristics, treatment, and outcomes were evaluated. Results: The median age of patients with GAS was 46 years old (IQR: 41.5, 59.5), with no significant difference compared to patients with non-GAS HPVI ECA (48-year-old, IQR: 40.5, 60.5) ( p =0.92). Compared with non-GAS HPVI ECAs, GAS hade more common complains of vaginal watery discharge ( p =0.047). GAS cases were also associated with higher clinical stage at diagnosis (P=0.016), deeper cervical stromal invasion ( p =0.01), and worse 5-year progression free survival (PFS) ( p =0.032). Compared with non-MDA GAS, MDA had similar clinical and pathological features and prognosis. Of note, cytology results showed a lower positivity rate for HPVI ECAs (65.2% for GAS and 60% for non-GAS HPVI ECA), and MDA had a lower positivity rate than that for non-MDA (40.0% vs 84.6%, p =0.026). Serum CA19-9 levels were significantly higher in MDA than those in non-MDA (184.5 U/ml vs 22.4U/ml, p =0.045) and non-GAS cases (184.5U/ml vs 10.6U/ml, p =0.006). Conclusions: GAS HPVI ECA had different clinical presentation with genital watery discharge compared with non-GAS HPVI ECA cases. Comparison with those of non-GAS HPVI ECAs, GAS cases were more likely to have high risk pathological factors and poorer PFS. Serum CA19-9 may be helpful for diagnosis and screening in patients with GAS, especially those with MDA.
[Comparison of Clinical Pathological Characteristics in Ovarian Preserving Patients with Stage IB1 Cervical Adenocarcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma].

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To analyze the risk and prognostic of patients with stage IB1 cervical adenocarcinoma.METHODS:The clinical data of 139 patients with stage IB1 cervical adenocarcinoma treated at Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Peking University First Hospital from August 1994 to April 2015 were retrospectively reviewed, which included 38 cases of cervical adenocarcinoma and 101 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma. A comparison was made between ovarian preserving group and bilateral oophorectomy group, in order to justify the risk and prognosis of ovarian preserving patients.RESULTS:The 5-year cumulative survival rate of stage IB1 cervical adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma were 89.1% and 92.9% respectively with significant difference (P=0.034). One ovarian metastasis case was observed among the 32 cervical adenocarcinoma patients of bilateral oophorectomy, while another ovarian metastasis case was observed among 54 cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients of bilateral oophorectomy. The ovarian metastasis rate was 3.1% (1/32) and 1.8 % (1/54) respectively with no statistical difference (P=0.574). The cumulative 5-year survival of 6 ovarian preserving patients with cervical adenocarcinoma was 80.1%, while that of 47 ovarian preserving patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma was 94.6% (P=0.127). There was no statistical difference between the survival curve of the two groups.CONCLUSION:The prognosis of stage IB1 cervical adenocarcinomas was somewhat poorer than that of cervical squamous cell carcinoma. However it was still reasonable to perform ovarian preservation among young patients of stage IB1 cervical adenocarcinoma with no high risk factors.
Impact of histological subtypes on clinical outcome of endocervical adenocarcinoma

Abstract:Objective: This multicenter study aimed to investigate the disparity in clinical features and prognosis among different histopathologic subtypes of endocervical adenocarcinoma (EA) based on the 2014 World Health Organization (WHO) classification. Methods We retrieved and analyzed data from the Chinese Four C Database between 2004 and 2018. 672 EA patients with radical hysterectomies from 32 institutions were retrospectively reviewed. Clinicopathologic characteristics, five-year overall survival (OS), and disease-free survival (DFS) were compared based on histological subtypes. Results The 5-year DFS and OS rates for usual, endometrioid, mucinous, gastric, villoglandular, clear cell/serous/mesonephric EAs were as follows: 81.3 %, 89.1 %, 63.0 %, 35.6 %, 88.6 %, 79.9 %, respectively ( P < 0.0001); 87.4 %, 96.6 %, 74.7 %, 34.0 %, 96.7 %, 86.3 %, respectively (P < 0.0001). Gastric- and mucinous-type exhibited a higher frequency of lymph node metastasis, deep stromal invasion, uterine corpus invasion, and recurrence than the usual -type (recurrence rate:50.00 % vs 29.90 % vs 15.50 %, P < 0.0001). Multivariate analysis revealed gastric-type was significantly associated with inferior DFS (HR,3.018; 95 % CI, 1.688–5.397; P < 0.0001) and OS(HR, 4.114; 95 % CI, 2.002–8.453; P < 0.0001). Furthermore, compared to the usual -type, mucinous-type demonstrated significantly worse DFS (HR, 1.773; 95 % CI,1.123–2.8; P = 0.014) and OS (HR, 2.168; 95 % CI,1.214–3.873; P = 0.009) whereas endometrioid-type was an identified as independent factor for better DFS (HR, 0.365; 95 % CI,0.143–0.928; P = 0.034). Villoglandular subtype displayed similar features and favorable prognosis as the usual type. Conclusions: Relevant clinical features and prognosis varied significantly among histological subtypes of EA, thus offering valuable guidance for the development of subtype-specific treatment strategies to optimize EA management.

Results The histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis of the cervical biopsy of all cases showed a dense large to medium-sized atypical B-cell infiltration (B-cell marker CD20 and CD79a positive and T-cell marker CD3 negative). The cells proliferate actively with mitosis activity. There was no difference in the expression of the proliferation index Ki-67 and p53 protein between the lymphoma cases and lymphoma-like lesions. The difference lies in the expression κ and λ. κ positive and λ negative were found in all cervical lymphoma cases. In contrast, double expression of κ and λ were shown in cervical lymphoma-like lesions, and the percentage of κ and λ positive cells were similar. The further PCR-IgH gene rearrangement analysis demonstrated that the monoclonal rearrangement of IgH gene was occurred in cervical lymphoma cases not in lymphoma-like lesions. Conclusion Cervical lymphoma-like lesions mimic cervical lymphoma in histopathological feasures and immunohistochemical expression. PCR-IgH gene rearrangement analysis and immunohistochemical detection of κ and λ protein are helpful to differential diagnosis between B-cell lymphoma and lymphoma-like lesion of the uterine cervix.

Abstract:Background Highly heterogeneity and inconsistency in terms of prognosis are widely identified for early‐stage cervical cancer (esCC). Herein, we aim to investigate for an intuitional risk stratification model for better prognostication and decision‐making in combination with clinical and pathological variables. Methods We enrolled 2071 CC patients with preoperative biopsy‐confirmed and clinically diagnosed with FIGO stage IA‐IIA who received radical hysterectomy from 2013 to 2018. Patients were randomly assigned to the training set (n = 1450) and internal validation set (n = 621), in a ratio of 7:3. We used recursive partitioning analysis (RPA) to develop a risk stratification model and assessed the ability of discrimination and calibration of the RPA‐derived model. The performances of the model were compared with the conventional FIGO 2018 and 9th edition T or N stage classifications. Results RPA divided patients into four risk groups with distinct survival: 5‐year OS for RPA I to IV were 98%, 95%, 85.5%, and 64.2%, respectively, in training cohort; and 99.5%, 93.2%, 85%, and 68.3% in internal validation cohort (log‐rank p

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:This study investigated the prognostic significance of age at diagnosis, stage, tumor subtype, pelvic lymph node metastasis (PLNM), lymph-vascular space involvement (LVSI), presence or absence of deep cervical stromal invasion (DCSI) in stage IB-IIA cervical cancer patients. It also investigated the inter-relationship among these factors.METHODS:152 patients treated with radical hysterectomy plus pelvic lymphadenectomy were followed up for a median of 49 months and were evaluated retrospectively.RESULTS:The 5-year overall survival rate was 84.8%. The distribution of age at diagnosis is of bimodal shape, peaking at 42 and 68 years, respectively. Tumor subtype, PLNM, DCSI, and LVSI were found to be significant prognostic factors individually. After multivariate analysis, only tumor subtype and PLNM were found to be independent, significant prognostic factors for survival. The prognostic importance of LVSI appeared to be eclipsed by the presence of PLNM. DCSI was statistically related with FIGO stage, LVSI and PLNM.CONCLUSION:Tumor subtype and PLNM are the two most important independent prognostic factors for stages IB-IIA cervical cancer. Some prognostic factors are inter-related and may reflect different facets of tumor progression.

Abstract:Objectives: To compare the clinical characteristics and prognosis of women with clear cell versus high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma. Material and methods: Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 50 cases patients with ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) and 103 cases with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC), who were initially treated and completed standardized therapy in Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from January 2013 to December 2017. Results: There were significant differences in age, gravidity (G > 1), chief complaint, with ovarian endometriosis, tumor diameter, unilateral or bilateral, cystic and solid tumor, CA125, HE4, CA199, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and FIGO stage between the two groups. The differences in the prognosis between OCCC patients and HGSOC patients with early stage (FIGO I-II) were not statistically significant. The 5-year overall survival and progression-free survival of OCCC patients were significantly worse than those of HGSOC patients with advanced stage (FIGO III-IV) (p < 0.05). FIGO stage and non-R0 resection were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with ovarian clear cell carcinoma, screening by Cox regression analysis. FIGO stage, the lowest value of CA125, and non-R0 resection were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer. Conclusions: The clinical characteristics and prognosis of OCCC are different from those of HGSOC. Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) patients have a significantly worse prognosis than those with HGSOC in the advanced stage (FIGO Ⅲ-Ⅳ). Satisfactory tumor resection is an essential factor related to the prognosis of patients with OCCC and HGSOC.

Abstract:Objective:To compare the clinical symptoms and pathological features of cervical cancer in different age types.Methods: A total of 301 patients with cervical cancer were reviewed.The patients were divided into two groups: young group(age,≤35 years) and old group(age,>35 years).Results: The average age was 45.07±0.52 years and the peak age was 35-46 years(54.2%).The proportion of patients with constant pregnancy(G≥3) and constant giving-birth(P≥2) were 56.5% and 33.9%,respectively.The proportion of stage Ia in the young group(44.2%) was higher than that in the old group(25.6%).The rate of adenocarcinoma was 16.3% in the young group but 6.7% in the old group(P<0.05).The rate of lymph node metastases was lower in the young group than that in the old group.The depths of vascular invasion,parametrium invasion and stromal invasion in the young group were less than those in the old group.Conclusions: In the young group,the clinical stage of cervical cancer is earlier than that in the old group,and the rate of adenocarcinoma is higher than that in the old group.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the related risk factors that affect the prognosis of cervical cancer.Methods The clinical data of 505cases of cervical cancer patients who treated in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital in the past 10years were analyzed retrospectively.The clinic pathologic clinicopathologic features and risk factors that related to the prognosis of cervical cancer were analyzed by statistical software SPSS 19.0.A statistically significant difference was indicated by P<0.05.Results ① The peak age of onset focus on 35~45years old which showed a single-peak,the 3-year and 5-year survival rates of all patients were 94% and 93%.② The multivariate regression analysis indicated that clinical stage,histology differentiated grades,platinum-based chemoradiotherapy were independent prognosis factors for cervical cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusions The peak age of cervical cancer patients in this study focus on 35~45years old which showed a single-peak.The 3-year and 5-year survivals were higher than that reported in the literature.Histology differentiated grades,platinum-based chemoradiotherapy were independent prognosis factors for cervical cancer patients.

Abstract:OBJECTIVES:This study try to subclassify breast cancer into different prognostic subgroups according to immunohistochemical algorithm and discuss the relationship between subtypes and biological and clinical behavior and prognosis.METHODS:One hundred and twenty-eight cases of infiltrative ductal carcinoma were studied using immunohistochemical staining with an antibody panel of ER, PR, HER2 and CK5/6 and subclassified referring to previous reports, and the 9 cases of HER2 positive subtype were tested using FISH.RESULTS:The expression of ER, PR, HER2, and CK5/6 was detected in 67%, 45%, 27% and 27% cases, respectively. All cases were subclassified into five subgroups, with luminal A (55%), luminal B (20%), HER2 positive (7%), basal-like (10%) and unclassified cases (8%). Nine HER2 positive cases all showed amplification of HER2 gene. It was demonstrated that the luminal A group was associated with the best prognosis but the basal-like group worst by univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that both the clinical stage and immunohistochemical subtypes of tumor were related to overall survival. Menses status were different among these subtypes.CONCLUSION:According to the expression of ER, PR, HER2 and CK5/6, infiltrative ductal carcinoma could be subclassified into five subgroups with different biological features and outcome, having a role in evaluating the prognosis and guiding the clinical treatment.
