Abstract:•In a Phragmites australis wetland, 7-year warming significantly increased total organic C and total N in top soil layer, but it exerted no effect on total P.•Warming exerted no effect on microbial biomass C or invertase activity, but it significantly increased microbial biomass N, microbial biomass P, phosphatase, and urease activities in 0–10 cm soil layer.•In the wetland, climate warming may increase soil organic C pools while exerting no effect on microbial C decomposition, whereas microbial N and P cycling may be enhanced.
