Detection algorithm for radar weak target with strong target coverage

Abstract:In radar multi-target detection,the weak target is almost covered by the strong target nearby be-cause of its low energy,which badly influences the detection of weak targets.A novel detection algorithm for weak radar targets is proposed to cope with the situation above.First,the strong target echo is integrated co-herently and its amplitude is estimated by the combination of Keystone transform and the least square filter.Af-ter that,the strong target echo is reconstructed and then cleaned from the original echo.Finally the remaining echo is integrated coherently for the detection of weak targets.The experimental results validate the effective-ness and advantages of the proposed algorithm.
