Prevention Measures of Postoperative Infections in Patients Wi Th Acute Suppurative Appendici Tis

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the prevention measures of postoperative infections in the patients with acute supppurative appendicitis so as to provide guidance for reduction of incidence of the infections in the patients with acute suppurative appendicitis .METHODS A total of 98 patients with acute suppurative appendicitis who were treated in the hospital from Dec 2010 to Dec 2012 were recruited as the study objects and divided into two groups according to the clinical randomized controlled trial principle ,with 49 cases in each ;the control group was treated with conventional intervention mode for appendicitis ,the observation group was treated with the comprehensive intervention mode based on the conventional intervention mode before , during , and after the surgery . The postoperative incision healing ,incidence of infections ,length of hospital stay ,time of incision healing ,and inci‐dence of incisional hernia were observed and compared between the two groups .RESULTS Through the active sur‐gical treatment for one week ,there were 46 cases of grade A incision healing ,3 cases of grade B incision healing , and no case of grade C incision healing in the observation group ,while there were 32 cases of grade A incision healing ,12 cases of grade B incision healing ,and 5 cases of grade C incision healing in the control group ,as com‐pared with the two groups ,there was statistically significant difference (P<0 .05) .The average hospitalization duration was (5 .7 ± 2 .3) days in the observation group ,(8 .7 ± 2 .6)days in the control group ;the incision healing time was (6 .8 ± 1 .8) days in the observation group ,(16 .8 ± 3 .4)days in the control group ,there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0 .05) .There was only 1 (2 .04% ) case of chronic sinus in the observation group ,the incisional hernia occurred in 4 cases in the control group with the incidence rate of 8 .16% , and there were 5 (10 .20% ) cases of chronic sinus ,there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0 .05) .CONCLUSIONS For the patients with acute suppurative appendicitis ,it is an effective way to implement the comprehensive nursing intervention ,fully prepare before the surgery ,protect the incision during the surgery ,flush with the abdomen closed ,and take drug dressing in a timely manner so as to reduce the inci‐dence of the infections and shorten the time of incision healing ,which is worthy of the clinical study .
