Abstract:•An improved measuring device was developed for determination of IHTC.•The accuracy of the proposed IHTC test system was evaluated and calibrated.•The IHC method is a robust and accurate method for calculating the IHTC but low efficiency.•FEM-OPT method with temperature-dependent IHTC is able to identify the IHTC efficiently.
