Abstract:Objectives: To investigate whether CHLSH (Chinese health literacy scale for hypertension) can be used to screen the patients with hypertension for self-management. We did economic evaluation of three kinds of hypertension management models, self-management, traditional management and mobile APP management, and provided reasonable references for the management of hypertension. Methods: 598 patients aged 50 to 79 completed CHLSH, and were divided into high health literacy group (283 cases) and low health literacy group (315 cases). Patients in both high health literacy and low health literacy groups were randomly divided into the self-management group (group A and group a), the traditional management group (group B and group b) and smart phone APP management group (group C and group c). After managing for 6 months, we constructed 0.5 year cost-effectiveness decision tree model of three different management models in high health literacy group to see the change of blood pressure control rate and QALYs (quality-adjusted life years). We did Roll Back to calculate the value of expectation, and cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, incremental analysis to do economic evaluation, and sensitivity analysis for the variables for the model. Results: Self-management costs the least in the treatment for each hypertensive patient each year and each hypertensive patient reaching standard blood pressure each year. Traditional management and mobile App management cost more to add one QALYs than self-management. Conclusion: With similar blood pressure control rate, SM is the most cost-effective model to save social and medical resources.
