Abstract:A series of novel tetrahydroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-5(1H)-one derivatives containing a electronegative pharmacophore (=CNO2) were synthesized via practical aza-ene reaction and characterized by H-1 NMR, 13C NMR, 19F NMR and HRMS. Preliminary bioassays showed that some of the target compounds exhibited good insecticidal activity against brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens) and cowpea aphids (Aphis craccivora) at 500 mg L-1. Among them, compound 11h was active against brown planthopper at 100 mg L-1. The insecticidal activities varied significantly depending on the types and patterns of the substituents, which provided guidance for further investigation on structure modifications. Abstract:In order to find high activity and broad-spectrum insecticide,ten novel pyrimidone derivatives were designed via the replacement of pyridine ring of pymetrozine with the different charge density five-or six-membered rings.A facile and efficient synthetic method for the preparation of pyrimidone derivatives was described,in which the triazone ring and dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-one was conveniently constructed.The structures of all the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by HRMS,1H NMR and IR spectroscopy.The insecticidal activity tests showed that these compounds didn’t exhibit significant insecticidal activity against Aphid scraccivora,which implied that the pyridine ring moiety of pyrimidone is essential for its insecticidal activity.

Abstract:A series of novel [1,2,4]triazolo[3,4- b ][1,3,4]thiadiazoles bearing pyridine ring derivatives was synthesized from 2,6-dimethylpyridin-3,5-dicarboxylic acid diethyl ester. The structures of the compounds were characterized by use of IR, NMR, EI-MS, and elemental analysis. The structure of one compound was further confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Biological assays showed that these compounds had potential insecticidal activity with especially strong regulation of the growth of 2nd instar Mythimna separata larvae. The effects on bioactivity of substituent groups on phenyl ring were also screened. Graphical Abstract .

Abstract:Fourteen 1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid derivatives containing oxazole and thiazole rings were synthesized and characterized by H-1 NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. Most target compounds were obtained in overall yields in the range of 30-50%. The insecticidal activities of these new compounds against Aphis fabae were evaluated. The bioassays' results indicate that some of these compounds exhibit good activities, especially compound 7h which shows 85.7% mortality against A. fabae at a concentration of 12.5 mg/L. This activity is comparable to that of the commercial insecticide imidacloprid.

Abstract:Phenylpyrazole insecticides are successful for crop protection and public hygiene by blocking gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels. A series of novel phenylpyrazoles containing arylimine or 1-methoxyaryl groups were designed and synthesized. The addition reaction of methanol to the imines 1-11 was investigated and the cayno addition products 13-15 were obtained. The compounds 1-15 were confirmed by 1H NMR and elemental analysis. The results of bioassay indicated that some compounds exhibited comparable bioactivity to fipronil against a broad spectrum of insects such as bean aphid (Aphis craccivora), mosquito (Culex pipiens pallens), diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) and Oriental armyworm (Mythimna separata). Especially, the foliar contact activity against bean aphid of compound 7 at 10 µg mL-1 was 68%, the larvacidal activity against mosquito of compounds 5, 13 and 15 at 0.0025 µg mL-1 was 100%, the larvacidal activity against diamondback moth of compounds 9 and 11 at 0.05 µg mL-1 was 100%, the larvacidal activity against Oriental armyworm of compound 9 at 1 µg mL-1 was 100%. The 3-cayno moiety on pyrazole ring was essential for the high insecticidal activities against bean aphid, diamondback moth and Oriental armyworm, while the 3-carbimidate moiety on pyrazole ring was crucial to the excellent high insecticidal activities against mosquito.

Abstract:Pyridazinone heterocyclic compounds have been exhibited good biological activity.Based on primary research,13 novel 5-acylhydrazino-3(2H)-pyridazinone compounds were designed by linking acylhydrazine with 3(2H)-pyridazinone and synthesized.All the compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR,IR and elemental analysis.The preliminary bioassay results indicated that some of the title compounds showed insecticidal activity against Aphis fabae to which the lethal rate of compound 7d was 73.9% at 500 mg/L.However,the insecticidal activity against Mythimna separata or Tetranchus urticae was not obvious.

Abstract:Twenty six novel pyrimidin-4-amine derivatives containing the 1,2,4-oxadiazole motif were synthesized. Their chemical structures were confirmed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, and highresolution mass spectrography. The insecticidal activity results indicated that some of them possessed excellent insecticidal activity (100%) against Mythimna separate, especially for compounds 6d, 6f, 6o, 6w, 6y and 6z. These compounds exhibited no activity against the insects Aphis medicagini and Tetranychus cinnabarinus. The structure-insecticidal activity relationships are discussed. Density functional theory analysis can potentially be used to design more active compounds. These results provide useful insecticide design information for further optimization.

Abstract:In our early study, a series of anthranilic diamides containing acylthiourea linker (C) was reported to display favorable activities. Based on that research, four series of novel pyridylpyrazole derivatives (D-G) derived from C were designed and synthesized. Totally 24 compounds were synthesized and all the compounds were characterized by melting points, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and HRMS. Bioassay results indicated that compounds 5b, 5c and 6b showed 100 % insecticidal activities against oriental armyworm (Mythimna separata) at 200mg/L. Their fungicidal activities against A. solani, F. graminearum, P. capsici, S. sclerotiorum, B. cinerea and R. solani were evaluated and the results indicated that compounds 7a-g which contained acylguanidine linker showed favourable antibacterial activity against B. cinerea, among which 7d and 7f showed 97.5 % inhibitory activities against B. cinerea at 50mg/L. To further explore the comprehensive structure-activity relationship on the basis of insecticidal activity data, comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) was performed, and a statistically reliable model with good predictive power (r(2) = 0.972, q(2) = 0.604) was achieved.

Abstract:In order to find new pyrazole amides with wonderful bioactivities, a series of novel pyrazole amide derivatives were synthesized by introducing substituted oxazole ring into the C-5 position of pyrazole skeleton based on the lead chlorantraniliprole. The aimed compounds were structurally characterized through 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. The preliminary bioassay results exhibited that all the title compounds displayed more than 90% insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata (Walker) at 500 mu g/mL. At the dosage of 100 mu g/mL, five compounds possessed 90%similar to 100% insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata (Walker), and three compounds exhibited insecticidal property against Aphis craccivora with 90%similar to 100%. Additionally, at the dosage of 500 mu g/mL, two compounds possessed insecticidal activity against Tetranychus cinnabarinus with 80%similar to 100%.

Abstract:In our search for environmentally benign insecticides with high activity, low toxicity and low residue, a novel series of amides containing N- pyridylpyrazole moieties were designed and synthesized. The structures of the title compounds were characterized and confirmed by 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. Furthermore, the structure of compound 7l was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The preliminary bioassay tests showed that some of them exhibited good insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata Walker, Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus, 1758) and Laphygma exigua Hübner.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Pyrazole oxime ether derivatives with different substituted pyridyl rings represent new types of compounds that possess good insecticidal and acarcidal activity against Aphis laburni Kaltenbach and Tetranychus cinnabarinus. RESULTS:In total, 82 novel pyrazole oxime ether derivatives were synthesized and identified by (1) H NMR, elemental analysis or high-resolution mass spectrometry, and their insecticidal and acarcidal activities were tested against A. laburni Kaltenbach and T. cinnabarinus. Bioassays showed that at a 200 mg L(-1) dosage, one-third of the compounds displayed high insecticidal activity against A. laburni Kaltenbach (> 90%), whereas most of of the compound II series exhibited excellent acarcidal activity against T. cinnabarinus (> 92%). Most compound II series exhibited good activity in both insecticidal and acarcidal tests. In addition, at a low concentration of 10 mg L(-1) , the insecticidal activity of compounds IB9 and IE4 exceeded 90%, and the acarcidal activity of compounds IIB1 and IIB2 was ≥ 95%. CONCLUSION:Structure-activity relationships were also examined. Results suggested that the tert-butoxycarbonyl group, as well as the position between tert-butoxycarbonyl and the atom N of the pyridyl ring, were essential to obtaining the acarcidal activity of the title compounds.

Five compounds displayed 100% mortality rate towards Mythimna separata Walker at 100 mu g/mL. Two compounds both exhibited 40% mortality rate against Mythimna separata Walker at 20 mu g/mL. In addition, three compounds had 40 similar to 60% insecticidal activities to Aphis medicaginis at 500 mu g/mL. It is worthy of noting that 5-(2-bromophenoxy)-1,3-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde-O-{1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-[(6-chloropy ridin-3-yl)methoxy]-1H-pyrazole-5-formyl}oxime (10b) and 5-(4-t-butylphenoxy)-1,3-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde-O-{1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-[(6-chloropyridin-3-yl)methoxy]-1H-pyrazole-5-formyl}oxime (10k) which have potent insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata Walker, can be utilized in insecticide research with further optimization.

Abstract:Sixteen novel pyrazole amide compounds containing an isoxazole unit were synthesized through introducing an isoxazole moiety to pyrazole amide molecules based on the structure of chlorantraniliprole. The structures of the designed compounds were characterized with H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and elemental analysis. Preliminary bioassay showed that most of the target compounds exhibited 100% insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata at the dosage of 500 mu g/mL. Three compounds had 80%similar to 100% mortality rate towards M. separata at the dosage of 100 mu g/mL, and three compounds still possessed 40%similar to 50% mortality rate against M. separata when the dosage was lowered to 20 mu g/mL. Three compounds displayed 100% insecticidal activities towards Aphis medicaginis at 500 mu g/mL, and still showed good insecticidal activities against A. medicaginis with 70%similar to 100% at 100 mu g/mL. In addition, two compounds demonstrated 90%similar to 100% mortality rates towards Tetranychus cinnabarinus at 500 mu g/mL.

Abstract:A series of novel N-pyridylpyrazole carbonyl thioureas were designed and synthesized. Their structures were characterized by melting points, 1H NMR, IR and elemental analysis or HRMS. The bioassay tests indicated that some of these compounds exhibited moderate insecticidal activity against Mythimna separata Walker and Culex pipiens pallens. Among 17 compounds, 5n and 5p showed 100% larvicidal activity against Mythimna separata Walker at the test concentration of 100 mg/L.

Abstract:A series of novel mesoionic pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidinone compounds incorporating a dithioacetal skeleton were designed and synthesized for use as insecticidal agents. The biological activity of the title compounds indicated good to excellent insecticidal activities against bean aphids (Aphis craccivora) and white-backed planthoppers (Sogatella furcifera). Compound 34 showed excellent insecticidal activity against bean aphids (A. craccivora) with an LC50 value of 2.80 μg/mL, exceeding the insecticidal activity of trifluoropyrimidine (LC50 = 4.20 μg/mL). Proteomics and molecular docking results indicated that compound 34 could act on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. This study provides support for the application of mesoionic pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidinone compounds containing dithioacetal as novel insecticidal agents.

Abstract:In this research, with an aim to develop novel pyrazole oxime ether derivatives possessing potential biological activity, thirty-two pyrazole oxime ethers, including a substituted pyridine ring, have been synthesized and structurally identified through 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS. Bioassay data indicated that most of these compounds owned strong insecticidal properties against Mythimna separata, Tetranychus cinnabarinus, Plutella xylostella, and Aphis medicaginis at a dosage of 500 μg/mL, and some title compounds were active towards Nilaparvata lugens at 500 μg/mL. Furthermore, some of the designed compounds had potent insecticidal effects against M. separata, T. cinnabarinus, or A. medicaginis at 100 μg/mL, with the mortalities of compounds 8a, 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f, 8g, 8o, 8s, 8v, 8x, and 8z against A. medicaginis, in particular, all reaching 100%. Even when the dosage was lowered to 20 μg/mL, compound 8s also expressed 50% insecticidal activity against M. separata, and compounds 8a, 8e, 8f, 8o, 8v, and 8x displayed more than 60% inhibition rates against A. medicaginis. The current results provided a significant basis for the rational design of biologically active pyrazole oxime ethers in future.

Their evaluated insecticidal activities against oriental armyworm (Mythimna separata) indicated that the cyano-containing pyrazolecarboxamides exhibited moderate insecticidal activities. Compounds 6i and 6k showed comparable higher activity than corresponding anthranilic diamide 6m.
