Abstract:The dynamic properties of the title reaction calculated by classical and quantum methods show large deviations from each other, whereas for the barrierless and exothermal reaction two methods should show good agreement. In order to further investigate the reaction mechanism of the title reaction, a global PES for the electronic ground state was constructed. The energy points are calculated by the multireference configuration interaction method with aug-cc-pVQZ and cc-pwCVQZ basis sets for H and Li atoms, respectively. The neural network approach is adopted in the fitting process. The classical and quantum methods are applied in the dynamic calculation based on the new PES. As expected, the dynamic properties obtained by these two methods are in good agreement with each other. In addition, two reaction mechanisms were found. When the energy is below 0.2 eV the insert reaction mechanism is dominant, and this changes to the abstract reaction mechanism as the energy increases.

Abstract:The global diabatic potential energy surfaces which are correlated with the ground state 1A' and the excited state 2A' of the Li(2p) + H2 reaction are presented in this study. The multi-reference configuration interaction method and large basis sets (aug-cc-pVQZ for H atom and cc-pwCVQZ for Li atom) were employed in the ab initio single-point energy calculations. The diabatic potential energies were generated by the diabatization scheme based on transition dipole moment operators. The neural network method was utilized to fit the matrix elements of the diabatic energy surfaces, and the root mean square errors were extremely small (3.69 meV for , 5.34 meV for and 5.06 meV for ). The topographical features of the diabatic potential energy surfaces were characterized and the surfaces were found to be sufficiently smooth for the dynamical calculation. The crossing seam of the conical intersections between the and surfaces were pinpointed. Based on this new analytical diabatic potential energy surfaces, time-dependent wave packet calculation were conducted to investigate the mechanism of the title reaction. At low collision energies, the product LiH molecule tends to forward scattering, while at high collision energies, the forward and backward scatterings exist simultaneously.

On the new PES, the reactant coordinate-based time-dependent wave packet method is applied to study the reaction dynamics of H(2S) + NaH(X1Σ+) → Na(2S) + H2(X1Σg+), and the reaction probabilities, integral cross-sections (ICSs) and differential cross-sections (DCSs) are obtained. There is no threshold in the reaction due to the absence of an energy barrier on the minimum energy path. When the collision energy increases, the ICSs decrease from a high value at low collision energy. The DCS results show that the angular distribution of the product molecules tends to the forward direction. Compared with the LiH2 system, the NaH2 system has a larger mass and the PES has a larger well at the H-NaH configuration, which leads to a higher ICS value in the H(2S) + NaH(X1Σ+) → Na(2S) + H2(X1Σg+) reaction. Because the H(2S) + NaH(X1Σ+) → Na(2S) + H2(X1Σg+) reaction releases more energy, the product molecules can be excited to a higher vibrational state.

Abstract:A 285-point multi-reference configuration-interaction involving single and double excitations (MRS-DCI) potential energy surface for the electronic ground state of Li2H is determined by using 6-311G (2df, 2pd) basis set. A Simons-Parr-Finlan polynomial expansion is used to fit the discrete surface with a X2 of 4.64 × 10-6. The equilibrium geometry occurs at Re =0.172 nm and <LiHLi =94.10. The dissociation energy for reaction Li2H(2A)⇑ Li2(1⌆g)+H(2S) is 243.910 kJ/mol. and that for reaction Li2H(2A)⇑HLi(1be)+Li(2S) is 106.445 kJ/mol. The inversion barrier height is 50.388 kJ/mol. The vibrational energy levels are calculated using the discrete variable representation (DVR) method.

In addition, the reaction is dominated by forward scattering, and similar pattern is observed from Becker’s experiment.

Abstract:The adiabatic potential energies for the lowest three states of a Li2H system are calculated with a high level ab initio method (MCSCF/MRCI) with a large basis set (aV5Z). The accurate three dimensional B-spline fitting method is used to map the global adiabatic potential energy surfaces, using the existing adiabatic potential energies, for the lowest two adiabatic states of the title reaction system. The different vibrational states and corresponding energies are studied for the diatomic molecule of reactant and products. In order to clearly understand the nonadiabatic process, the avoided crossing area and conical intersection are carefully studied. For further study of the nonadiabatic dynamic reaction, the diabatic potential energy surfaces are deduced in the present work.

Abstract:A new global potential energy surface (PES) for the ground (X(2)A') state of the Li + HF -> LiF+ H reactive system is constructed by fitting 12,399 points computed at the UCCSD(T)-F12b/aug-cc-pV5Z level of theory. The use of a neural network method helps to achieve a high-fidelity fit with a root mean square error of 0.88 meV. Quantum dynamics calculations with full Coriolis coupling on the new PES yield both differential and integral cross sections over a range of energy. In agreement with experiment, the product angular distribution depends sensitively on collision energy, but all with a forward bias. Moderate internal excitation is found in the LiF product. The energy dependence of the integral cross section is in reasonably good accord with the experimental excitation function, although some quantitative differences persist. This late-barrier reaction shows a dramatic vibrational enhancement of reactivity. The mode specificity is rationalized using the Sudden Vector Projection model. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:We constructed a new global potential energy surface (PES) for the electronic ground state ( 1 A′) of H 2 S based on 21,300 accurate ab initio energy points over a large configuration space. The ab initio energies are obtained from multireference configuration interaction calculations with a Davidson correction using basis sets of quadruple zeta quality. The neural network method is applied to fit the PES and the root mean square error of fitting is small (1.68 meV). Time-dependent wave packet studies for the S( 1 D) + H 2 (X 1 Σ g + ) → H( 2 S) + SH(X 2 Π) reaction on the new PES are conducted to study the reaction dynamics. The calculated integral cross sections decrease with increasing collision energy and remain fairly constant within the high collision energy range. Both forward and backward scatterings can be observed as expected for a barrierless reaction with a deep well on the PES. The calculated integral cross sections and differential cross sections are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Abstract:An accurate potential energy surface for the ground electronic state of SH3 system has been constructed with 41,882 high level ab initio energy points and the neural network fitting method. The time-dependent wave packet method has been used to calculate the first state-to-state differential cross sections for the title reaction up to 1.2 eV in full dimensions, based on the reactant-product decoupling scheme. It is found that the majority of H2S are produced in the ground vibrational state, with a large fraction of available energy for the reaction ending up as product translational motion. The differential cross sections at the threshold energy are dominated by a very narrow peak in the backward direction. With the increase of collision energy, the width of the angular distribution increases considerably, which is a typical feature of a direct reaction via abstract mechanism, similar to the H-2 + OH -> H2O + H reaction. Abstract:The accuracy of three-dimensional adiabatic and diabatic potential energy surfaces is calculated using ab initio methods and is numerically fitted for the two lowest electronic states 1 and 22A' of the LiH2 system, which are very important for the Li (2p) + H2 reaction. The finite difference method is performed to generate the mixing angles, which are used to educe the diabatic potential from the adiabatic potential. The accurate conical intersection (CI) is studied in this work with three different basis sets. The energy of the conical intersection is slightly lower (nearly 0.12 eV) than that of the perpendicular intermediate on the first excited state. By analyzing the potential energy surfaces in this work we can suggest that the most possible reaction pathway for the title reaction is Li (2p) + H2 → LiH2 (22A') (C2v ) → CI → LiH2 (12A') (C2v ) → LiH⋯H → LiH (X1∑g+) + H. The conical intersection and (22A') intermediate may play a vital role in the title reaction.

Abstract:An improved global potential energy surface (PES) for the electronic ground state of the HeLiH+ system is reported. The data points are calculated at the full configuration-interaction level of theory and extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The fitting procedure implements a combination of neural network and Aguado–Paniagua functional forms to fit the ab initio data points. The fitted surface reproduces the ab initio data points accurately in short as well as long ranges and has an overall root mean square error of 1.76 × 10−3 eV (14.21 cm−1) in energy space <10 and 9.28 × 10−4 eV (7.48 cm−1) upto 2 eV. The optimized global minimum is also accurately reproduced using the fitted surface. To establish the accuracy of the new PES, dynamics investigation of the He + LiH+(v = 0, j = 0) → LiHe+ + H reaction is performed using the Coriolis coupled quantum mechanical and quasi-classical trajectory methods. The results, such as integral cross sections and rate constants, show the effect of the opening of the collision-induced dissociation (CID) channel at low collision energy and are significantly different from the earlier study of Tacconi et al. [Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 14, 637–645 (2012)]. These discrepancies appear to be a result of the treatment of the CID channel in the dynamics calculations, which is excluded from the reactive channel in the current work.

The Full‐dimensional Potential Energy Surface of He 2 H − Using Fundamental Invariant Neural Network Method

Abstract:So far, numerous researches on the He2H- system have still been restricted to several analytical forms of the potential energy interaction, where the calculations in the three-body interaction may be not precise. With that in mind, we have provided an accurate, global, full-dimensional potential energy surface (PES) for the ground state of the He2H- system by the fundamental invariant neural network (FI-NN) fitting based on roughly 45 000 ab initio data points. The energy points are calculated with the coupled-cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples (CCSD[T]) method using the augmented Dunning-type correlation-consistent (aug-cc-pVTZ, aug-cc-pVQZ and aug-cc-pV5Z) basis sets, respectively. Based on adoption and comparison of three different extrapolation formulas, we obtained even accurate data points, which are extrapolated to the complete basis set (CBS) limit. The overall root mean square error of the fitting PES is only about 6.314 x 10(-3) cm(-1). It can be expected that this accurate PES would provide insights to further interesting discoveries in dynamics or spectroscopies for the relevant molecular systems.

Abstract:A three-dimensional global potential energy surface for the ground (X (1)Sigma(+)(g))electronic state of HgH(2) is constructed from more than 13,00 ab initio points. These points are generated using an internally contracted multireference configuration interaction method with the Davidson correction and a large basis set. Low-lying vibrational energy levels of HgH(2), HHgD, and HgD(2) calculated using the Lanczos algorithm are found to be in good agreement with the available experimental band origins. The majority of the vibrational energy levels up to 9000 cm(-1) are assigned with normal mode quantum numbers. Our results indicate a gradual transition for the stretching vibrations from the normal mode regime at low energies to the local mode regime near 9000 and 8000 cm(-1) for HgH(2) and HgD(2), respectively, as evidenced by a decreasing energy gap between the (0,0,n(3)) and (1,0,n(3)-1) vibrational states and bifurcation of the corresponding wave functions.

Abstract:The intermolecular potential energy surface of He-LiH complex was studied using the full-electronic complete forth-order Mαller-Plesset perturbation (MPPT) method. Inab initio calculations, the bond length of LiH was fixed at 0.159 5 nm The potential has two local minima of Vm= - 179.93 cm-1 for the linear He-LiH geometry atRm = 0.227 nm and Vm = - 10.44 cm- 1 for the linear He-HLi geometry atRm = 0. 516 nm. The potenial exhibits strong anisotropy. The analytic potential function with 31 parameters was determined by fitting to the calculatedab inttio potentials. The influence of variation of LiH bond length on the potential energy surface was also studied.
