Abstract:The system of a two-level atom interacting with a quantized radiation field in a gravitational field is studied by making use of a dynamical algebraic method. A full quantum treatment of the internal and external dynamics of the atom is given and an exact expression for the time evolution operator of the system is obtained. The influence of the gravitational field on the collapses and revivals of the atomic population, sub-Poissonian statistics, radiation force, atomic momentum diffusion, and squeezing of the radiation field is also investigated.

Abstract:The system of a three-level atom in the Xi configuration coupled to two quantized field modes with arbitrary detuning and density-dependent multiphoton interaction is studied by dynamical algebraic method. With the help of an su(3) algebraic structure, we diagonalize the Hamiltonian by making use of unitary transformations and obtain the eigenvalues, eigenstates and time evolution operator for the system. Based on this su(3) structure, we also show that the system of a three-level atom in the Xi configuration can be exactly transformed to an effective two-level Hamiltonian by an unitary transformation. Finally, we show that there exist an su(N) algebraic structure in the system of a N-level atom interacting with N-1 field modes.

Abstract:We investigate the emission spectra of a Ξ-type three-level atom interacting with a single-mode optical field in an ideal cavity filled with a Kerr medium and discuss the structure of emission spectrum when the optical field is initially in a pure number state and a coherent state, respectively. It is shown that the structure of emission spectrum depends not only on the photon number distribution, but also on the strength of incident field and the coupling of Kerr medium to the field.

Abstract:We adopt a dynamical algebraic approach to study the system of a two-level atom moving in a quantized travelling light field and a gravitational field with a multiphoton interaction. The exact solution of the system is obtained and used to discuss the influence of the gravitational field on the collapses and revivals of atomic population, sub-Poissonian statistics.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement of a three-level atom in Λ configuration interacting with two quantized field modes by using logarithmic negativity. Then, we study the relationship of the atomic coherence and the entanglement between two fields which are initially prepared in vacuum or thermal states. We find that if the two fields are prepared in thermal states,the atomic coherence can induce the entanglement between two thermal fields. However, there is no coherence-induced entanglement between two vacuum fields.

Abstract:Taking the intensity-dependent coupling between atoms and cavity mode into account, we investigate a system consisting of N homogeneously broadened two-level atoms interacting with the field inside a single-mode Fabry–Perot cavity containing a nonlinear Kerr-like medium. We derive the steady-state bistable behaviour of the system, and further analyse in details the influence of several critical parameters on the bistable behaviour.

Abstract:Negativity has been adopted to investigate the entanglement in a system composed of a two-level atom and a two-mode cavity field. Effects of Kerr-like medium and the number of photon inside the cavity on the entanglement are studied. Our results show that atomic initial state must be superposed, so that the two cavity field modes can be entangled. Moreover, we also conclude that the number of photon in the two cavity mode should be equal. The interaction between modes, namely, the Kerr effect, has a significant negative contribution. Note that the atom frequency and the cavity frequency have an indistinguishable effect, so a corresponding approximation has been made in this article. These results may be useful for quantum information in optics systems.

Abstract:The influence of the strength of phase self-modulation of light field on the atomic population is studied in the system consisting of a two-level atom interacting with two-mode light field in a high-Q cavity surrounded by Kerr medium. The study shows atom-field coupling becomes weak when the strength of phase self-modulation increases and it proved that the strength of phase self-modulation is related to respective mode of light field. At the same time, relation between the atomic population and photon number is investigated.

Abstract:We investigate the influence of Kerr medium on atomic population probability and residual entanglement of the system which consists of cascade-type three-level atoms and a bimodal cavity field filled with Kerr medium. The results show that the period of residual entanglement is shortened and the value of residual entanglement is enhanced by appropriately adjusting the nonlinear Kerr constant. Furthermore, we also study the influence of Kerr medium on entanglement evolution of the two atoms, and find that it decreases the value of entanglement between two atoms.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement and atomic coherence are examined for a system consisting of a four-level atom (FLA) interacted with a nonlinear quantum field. We assume that the FLA-field coupling, Kerr medium and quantified field are all -deformed with full nonlinear formalism. We consider N-configuration and cascade (C)-configuration of the FLA. We explore the impact of field deformation and Kerr medium on the dynamics of the quantumness measures when the quantized field is initially prepared in a deformed coherent state without and with Kerr medium effect. Moreover, we examine the statistical properties of the radiation field using the second order correlation function. The results indicate how the considered quantumness measures in the FLA–field system can be manipulated and controlled through the parameters of the quantum model.

Abstract:The N-photon interaction of two two-level atoms with a single-mode quantized radiation field is studied. The general expression for the state vector of the atom-field system is presented with the probability amplitudes in analytic form. For the initial condition in which the atoms are both at their upper levels and the field is in a squeezed state, we study the time evolution of the atomic population inversions and that of the statistics of the field. We find that the ratio of the two coupling constants, the initial squeezing of the field, and N have significant effects on the features of the atoms and of the field.

Abstract:Some noclassical properties in electromagnetic field are investigated for the interaction of two-modes initially taken in coherent-state representation with the three-level Xi-type atom, such as squeezing properties and violation of the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality. The enhancement of field squeezing is found by selective atomic measurement. The Cauchy-Schwartz inequality is violated by the application of the classical field followed by detection in excited state.

Abstract:We have studied the quantum dynamics of the atom's occupying probability in the system of the coherent field interacting with two coupling atoms one in an excited state and the other in a ground state in the Kerr medium.We have also discussed the influence of the medium field coupling coefficient μ ,the coupling parameter g a of the dipole dipole interaction,and the excited field intensity on the occupying probability.It has been shown that the more μ and g a are increased,the more the inertia action of atom and field is decreased,and that the effects of the atomic synchronism jump are strengthened when n is increased.

Abstract:The atomic dipole squeezing effects in the system of the binomial state field interacting with a moving Ξ-type three-level atom are studied.The influences of the optical field parameter,the field-mode speed,the η parameter,and the optical field and atomic coupling coefficient on the atomic dipole squeezing effects are analyzed.The results indicate that the influence of the optical field and atomic coupling coefficient on the atomic dipole squeezing is not noticeable.When four parameters change,periodic compression of the atomic dipole appears.As the field-mode speed parameter p≥9.3,the atom dipole presents complete compression periodically.As the η paramter changes,the atomic dipole experiences three changes:starting from without changes to periodic changes,and then to without changes.

Abstract:The influence of atomic motion on squeezing of the double-mode field in the interaction with a moving V-type three level atom is investigated by means of the quantum theory and the method of numerical analysis. The results show, on the one hand, when the initial photon field is in non-correlative coherent state of double-mode, only the quadrature U1 is squeezed and the squeezed degree of U1 increases with the increasing of the parameter β which describes the atomic motion and structure of the field mode. On the other hand, when the initial field is in the vacuum squeezed state of double-mode, the quadrature U2 is squeezed principally and we can obtain a steady squeezed light by choosing an appropriate parameter β.

Abstract:In this paper the evolution characteristics of the fidelity of quantum information for the V-type three-level atom interacting with number state light field in Kerr medium are investigated. It shows that the periodicity of the evolution of fidelity of quantum information is influenced by the Kerr coefficient, the photon number of the initial field and intensity of light. The evolutions of the fidelity of quantum information are modulated by the initial number state field. The Rabi oscillation frequency and the modulation frequency of fidelity for the field and the system vary with the value of the Kerr coefficient. The evolutions of fidelity of quantum information obviously show the quantum collapse and revival behaviours in the system of atom interacting with light field.

Abstract:In this paper, the entanglement dynamics of two two-level atoms trapped in coupled cavities with a Kerr medium is investigated. We find that the phenomena of entanglement sudden death (ESD) and entanglement sudden birth (ESB) appear during the evolution process. The influences of initial atomic states, Kerr medium, and cavity-cavity hopping rate on the atom-atom entanglement are discussed. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the atom-atom entanglement is strengthened and even prevented from ESD with increasing cavity-cavity hopping rate and Kerr nonlinearity.

Abstract:The entanglement dynamics of system, where atoms A and B interact with single mode cavity fields a and b respectively, is studied. The interaction between atom A and cavity a may be described by using the typical Jaynes–Cummings model, while that between the atom B and cavity b filled with a Kerr medium is of a two-photon process. For a certain initial atom entanglement state, there is an entanglement sudden death effect between the two atoms. The Kerr medium in the cavity b can effectively prevent the undesirable entanglement sudden death from occurring. Also, from the viewpoint of the population dynamics, we discuss why the Kerr medium can do so.

Abstract:The cavity field spectra of two coupling atoms interacting with coherent state of two-mode fields through Raman process in Kerr medium are studied.By solving the eigen equation,the cavity field spectrum expression is given out and some numerical results are presented.It is found that the Kerr effect and the atoms coupling both influence the spectra structures slightly in the case of weak input field.When the input fields are strong,each mode's highest peak becomes lower rapidly with appearance of the Kerr effect.Along with the accretion of Kerr effect,a multi-peak sideband appears in each mode spectrum and the spectral frequency shifts to right.
