Abstract:In this paper it describes the flow of cryption and decryption of AES algorithm(Rijndael),analyzes the attribute of AES,and implements it using pipeline by unlooping its inner round operations.And by analyzing the inner process of each round operation,this paper achieves the high-speed implementation of AES using combination and simplification for process.

Abstract:SMS4 algorithm is the domestic encryption standard released for WLAN use.An inner-round pipelined,high-speed engine is proposed after analyzing the features of this algorithm.By using pipelined or parallel multi-engines,throughput and hardware cost can be easily adjusted according to different applications.Compared with the 32-stage pipelined structure,hardware cost is much lower under the same throughput.Moreover,the SMS4 encryption/decryption system can easily fit in a low-cost Spartan II XC2S50 FPGA in a single-engine implementation.

Abstract:The fundamental principle of differential power analysis (DPA) attacks against universal cryptosystems and a particular theory of DPA attacks against data encryption standard (DES) algorithm are described in detail. An improved algorithm is proposed for DPA. Based on the analysis of noise characteristics of the power signals, an approach to modeling the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is proposed and corresponding theory is demonstrated. Finally, experimental results of the algorithm are presented.

Abstract:A high‐speed triple data encryption standard (3DES) cryptographic circuit is designed to secure data privacy. Two differential power analysis (DPA) attack countermeasures are embedded into the 3DES design to further reinforce the overall security against side‐channel attacks. In this paper, a high‐speed, low‐latency, and high‐security hardware‐implemented triple data encryption standard (3DES) cryptographic algorithm is proposed for securing data privacy. In order to achieve a high throughput for the 3DES architecture, the whole circuit is optimized with a 24‐stage pipelined design at first. For breaking the correlation between the processed data and power dissipation of the 3DES circuit against differential power analysis (DPA) attacks, two pseudo‐random number generators (PRNGs) are embedded to randomly alter the number of pipelined stages and data substitution locations within the 3DES circuit, respectively. Under such a circumstance, the proposed 3DES circuit is able to achieve high performance and strong robustness against DPA attacks without causing much overhead. As shown in the results, under the synthesis of SMIC 14‐nm process design kits (PDK), the clock frequency, area, power dissipation, and throughput of the proposed 3DES circuit, respectively, are achieved as 1.2 GHz, 26,435 μ m2, 21.05 mW, and 64 Gbps. Furthermore, when DPA attacks are executed on the proposed 3DES circuit, the corresponding secret key cannot be revealed even if 2 million plaintexts are enabled. In contrast, only 40,000 plaintexts are adequate to disclose the secret key of a regular pipelined 3DES circuit.

Abstract:As the Limited speed of realizing encryption algorithm using PC,the special encryption chip costs more and has a relatively long development cycle,this paper presents the design and implementation procedure of a data encryption system based on a kind of high speed DSP.The system uses TI's high speed floating DSP achieved 3DES encryption algorithm,the USB2.0 interface chip is used to complete the communication of DSP and PC,The experimental results indicate that the encryption system can operate reliably and quickly and it can be expanded into a real-time data encryption system.

Abstract:AES(Advanced encryption standard) is analyzed,and the specific design process and method is given.The AES Algorithm is designed in sequential architecture.As both the encryption module and decryption module use relevant and different initial key and key expansion module,the security of the communication could be strengthened.The 16-bit parallel bus communication interface is used,and the input and 128 output of FIFO data buffer is also employed to cache input data and finish the data encryption.The correctness of algorithm design is verified by ISE 13.1 simulation software.

Abstract:An implementation of high speed AES algorithm based on FPGA is presented in this paper in order to improve the safety of data in transmission. The mathematic principle, encryption process and logic structure of AES algorithm are introduced. So as to reach the porpose of improving the system computing speed, the pipelining and papallel processing methods were used. The simulation results show that the high-speed AES encryption algorithm implemented correctly. Using the method of AES encryption the data could be protected effectively. © 2012 IEEE.

Abstract:The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm is a symmetric block cipher which operates on a sequence of blocks each consists of 128, 192 or 256 bits. Moreover, the cipher key for the AES algorithm is a sequence of 128, 192 or 256 bits. AES algorithm has many sources of parallelism. In this paper, a design of parallel AES on the multiprocessor platform is presented. While most of the previous designs either use pipelined parallelization or take advantage of the Mix_Column parallelization, our design is based on combining pipelining of rounds and parallelization of Mix_Column and Add_Round_Key transformations. This model is divided into two levels: the first is pipelining different rounds, while the second is through parallelization of both the Add_Round_Key and the Mix_Column transformations. Previous work proposed for pipelining AES algorithm was based on using nine stages, while, we propose the use of eleven stages in order to exploit the sources of parallelism in both initial and final round. This enhances the system performance compared to previous designs. Using two-levels of parallelization benefits from the highly independency of Add_Round_Key and Mix_Column/ Inv_Mix_Colum transformations. The analysis shows that the parallel implementation of the AES achieves a better performance. The analysis shows that using pipeline increases significantly the degree of improvement for both encryption and decryption by approximately 95%. Moreover, parallelizing Add_Round_Key and Mix_Column/ Inv_Mix_Column transformations increases the degree of improvement by approximately 98%. This leads to the conclusion that the proposed design is scalable and is suitable for real-time applications.

Abstract:With the continuous development of smart card technology, the security of smart card chip is facing more and more challenges. Among many encryption algorithms, Data Encryption Standard(DES) algorithm is a widely used symmetric encryption and decryption algorithm. In order to resist all kinds of side channel attacks, the most widely used method is to eliminate correlation of the real key and power consumption through the masking technology in the algorithm. A new cyclic mask scheme for DES is proposed. Compared with the pre-calculated mask scheme in the previous literature, not only the pre-calculation amount is greatly reduced, but also the intermediate data in the whole DES operation process is masked. After the mask is split, it can also protect against high-order attacks.

Abstract:Triple Data Encryption Standard (also known as 3DES) is a symmetric encryption algorithm. European Traffic Management System popularly uses 3DES for authentication and encryption. However, as per a draft published by NIST in 2018, 3DES is officially being retired and not suggested to use for new applications. Several attacks were imposed on 3DES, and the biggest threat to 3DES is meet in the middle attack. Therefore for long term security, it is essential to enhance the security of such algorithms. This paper proposed a new cipher DeCrypt inspired by 3DES, an improved version of the 3DES algorithm, and secured against meet in the middle attack. As per the experiment performed, DeCrypt cipher is 61 per cent faster than 3DES, providing long-term and better security against sweet-32 attacks than other symmetric algorithms. The proposed algorithm is also faster than 3DES due to reduced encryption and decryption time.

Abstract:Security issues are playing dominant role in today's high speed communication systems. A fast and compact FPGA based implementation of the Data Encryption Standard (DES) and Triple DES algorithm is presented in this paper that is widely used in cryptography for securing the Internet traffic in modern day communication systems. The design of the digital cryptographic circuit was implemented in a Vertex 5 series (XCVLX5110T) target device with the use of VHDL as the hardware description language. In order to confirm the expected behavior of these algorithms, the proposed design was extensively simulated, synthesized for different FPGA devices both in Spartan and Virtex series from Xilinx viz. Spartan 3, Spartan 3AN, Virtex 5, Virtex E device families. The novelty and contribution of this work is in three folds: (i) Extensive simulation and synthesis of the proposed design targeted for various FPGA devices, (ii) Complete hardware implementation of encryption and decryption algorithms onto Virtex 5 series device (XCVLX5110T) based FPGA boards and, (iii) Generation of ICON and VIO core for the design and on chip verification and analyzing using Chipscope Pro. The experimental as well as implementation results compared to the implementations reported so far are quite encouraging.

Abstract:To solve the problems such as low performance and high resource cost, which exist in current implementations of DES algorithm based on reconfigurable computing technology,this paper presents a method that implements DES by using module-based partial reconfiguration.This method partitions DES into encryption-processing module and key-scheduling module according to the involutional structure of DES,and gives the solutions to the key technical issues such as communication design and timing adjustment between the modules.The comparisons in the experimental results of this method with those of others demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract:In order to adapt to the development of science and technology and the needs of society, cryptosystem is also developing towards high speed and high reliability. This paper adopts PCI-Express BUS to replace the traditional PCI BUS, because PCIE is a serial bus in the form of point-to-point, the scheme can avoid the timing out of sync problem when PCI Bus transmits data, the scheme can solve the problem of highspeed data transmission between FPGA and PC. This paper introduces the design of DMA asynchronous transmission scheme based on PCIE bus, and the effectiveness of this scheme is proved by the verification.

Abstract:Differential Power Analysis (DPA) reveals the secret key from the cryptographic device by side channel power leakage. Masking and Random Delay Insertion (RDI) are two countermeasures against DPA attack. But masking or RDI alone does not prevent DPA attack, they only enhance the difficulty of the attack. This paper proposes a novel countermeasure which associating masking with RDI. Furthermore, multi-masking instead of transformed masking is proposed in order to defend DPA attack based on hamming distance model. The combined countermeasure is implemented and verified on Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithm. The results show that the combined countermeasure defends DPA attack with 105 power traces, and increases 40% ability against DPA with only 28% performance penalty.

The paper presents application possibilities GPU CUDA acceleration for encryption of data using the new architecture tailored to the 3DES algorithm, characterized by increased security compared to the normal DES. Abstract:The Advanced Encryption System (AES) is used in almost all network-based applications to ensure security. The core computation of AES, which is performed on data blocks of 128 bits, is iterated for several rounds, depending on the key size. The strength of AES is proportional to the number of rounds applied. So far, the number of rounds is fixed to 10, 12 and 14 for a key size of 128, 192 and 256 bits respectively. Most cryptographers feel that the margin between the number of rounds specified in the cipher and the best known attacks is too small. On the other hand, it is clear that the overall efficiency of a given AES implementation is inversely proportional to the number of rounds imposed. In this paper, we propose a very efficient pipelined hardware implementation of AES-128. Besides, we show that if the required number of rounds must increase to defeat attackers, the proposed implementation stays efficient.

Abstract:When encrypting a single file in the CBC mode of 3DES, there is a feedback path which brings data dependency. Even much more resources are given, it does not help matters to increase the throughput of 3DES. In this paper, we propose a logic simplifying method to accelerate the throughput in the CBC mode. In the datapath, 15 levels of XORs from the critical path can be moved to the non -critical path. The experiment results show that our ASIC implementation of 3DES in the CBC mode can achieve 3.33Gbps in throughput, which is the fastest in the CBC mode in the reported designs.
