Analysis and Prediction on Changing Trend of the District Cotton Production System

Abstract:With Jiangsu province as case, for the production index of the yield, acreage and total production, the variation feature and trend were analyzed based on the chronological data of cotton production system. The results showed that the yield every year in Jiangsu increase except south Jiangsu, and the decreasing possibility of the yield per unit area in middle Jiangsu was greater than that in north Jiangsu. Obviously, the acreage was decreasing. Total production a-mong different districts were large different, the changing trend was decreasing, thereinto, the total production in south and middle Jiangsu decreased, but increasing in north Jiangsu. According to the variation feature of cotton production index, the integrated growth rate method was used to calculate the integrated growth rate or the integrated reduction rate. For cotton production system, the pessimistic, normal and optimistic prediction plans were established, respectively, and future yield per unit area, acreage and total production of cotton were predicted based on the actual production indexes.
