STEREOTACTIC RADIOTHERAPY FOR 35 PATIENTS WITH PANCREATIC CANCER

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the treatment efficacy and compalication of stererotactic radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer.Methods:Thirty-five patients with pancreatic cancer received stereotactic radiotherapy 2～3 Gy/fraction every day,five days per week,and were added up to 20～35 fractions.They were given 5～8 coplanar or non-coplanar stationary beams stereotactic radiotherapy with total dose of 60 Gy～70 Gy.Results:Pain were relieved clearly in 83.33 % patients.The check of the patients'CT images at 2～6 month after treatment showed that the response rate was 60 %.One-year and two-year survival rates were 77.14 % and 29.16 % respectively.Conclusion:The stereotactic radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer can increase efficacy and decrease complications and is a better therapy for unresectable patients.
