Abstract:Based upon the analysis of random number generators (RNGs) which amplify noise directly, the paper proposes a new design theory to generate random number by combining noise source and chaotic transformation in analog circuit. According to the design guideline, the paper analyzes some characteristics of chaotic map, and proves the key character of smoothing. The paper also introduces how to choose parameters when employing these chaotic transformation maps and the test results of chips designed according to this method is given. Also, the proposed design can intrinsically protect the unpredictability of generated random numbers against some attacks on noise sources
Implementation of A Chaos-Based ,High-Speed Truly Random Number Generator

Abstract:It is widely accepted that the core of any truly random number generator (TRNG) must be an intrinsically random physical process. However, theory of nonlinear systems and their chaotic behavior have provided an alternative way. This article chooses the piecewise-linear chaotic expression to design the RNG, analyses the influence of the expression's parameters to the iterative sequence and give the optimal scope for choosing the parameters. The TRNG is realized by analog circuit. It is composed of eight sub circuits whose structure is identical to each other and an anti-saturation circuit. Every sub circuit is composed of an operational circuit and a sample/hold circuit. Their working process is analysed. At the same time, the article also talks about how to eliminate the charge injection in the switched capacitor circuit. The chip of TRNG is taped out in TSMC with the 0.25 μm, mixed signal process. Total die area is 2.34 mm2.
A High Speed Chaos-Based Random Number Generator

Abstract:A deterministic chaotic discrete time dynamical system can be used for random number generator (RNG). Initial condition sensitivity is the key characteristic of deterministic chaos. As initial condition is an analog value in the circuit, it will never be approached or reached in the digital measuring system. Small difference of initial value between symbol sequences generated by the measuring system will develop into great difference between later items of symbol sequences as to lead two sequences separate fully. Therefore, the symbol trajectory will never be predicted or reproduced. After analyzing the basic characteristic of a Piecewise Linearity Mapping, a design of analog circuits including switched capacitors is presented. To verify the expected distribution of the random number generated by the circuit, the dominating CMOS noise was studied with two noise models (thermal and flicker). To speed up the circuit simulation, a fast simulation method is proposed. Finally, the experimental result of the RNG in accordance with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) standard was provided.
Using Random Test Selection to Gain Confidence in Modified Software

Abstract:This paper presents a method that addresses two practical issues concerning the use of random test selection for regression testing: the number of random samples needed from the test suite to provide reliable results, and the confidence levels of the predictions made by the random samples. The method applies the Chernoff bound, which has been applied in various randomized algorithms, to compute the error bound for random test selection. The paper presents three example applications, based on the method, for regression testing. The main benefits of the method are that it requires no distribution information about the test suite from which the samples are taken, and the computation of the confidence level is independent of the size of the test suite. The paper also presents the results of an empirical evaluation of the technique on a set of C programs, which have been used in many testing experiments, along with three of the GCC compilers. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method and show its potential for regression testing on real-world, large-scale applications.

Abstract:Assignment problem is considered a well-known optimization problem in manufacturing and management processes in which a decision maker's point of view is merged into a decision process and a valid solution is established. In this study, taking the complementary relations between expected value and variance in decision making and the synthesizing effect of random variables into consideration, a new model for random assignment problems is proposed; in which the characteristic of assignment problems are considered to present a concrete scheme based on genetic algorithms (denoted by SE @? GA-SAF, for short). We study the model's convergence using the Markov chain theory, and analyze its performance through simulation. All of these indicate that this solution model can effectively aid decision making in the assignment process, and that it possesses the desirable features such as interpretability and computational efficiency, as such it can be widely used in many aspects including manufacturing, operations, logistics, etc.

Abstract:In this paper, by using the dynamic relationship between mathematical expectation and variance and the compound quantitative description of random variable, an instructive solution model for random assignment problem has been developed; combining the characteristic of assignment problem, give the concrete scheme based on genetic algrithm (denoted by B.DC(S)GA-RAM, for short); finally, consider its convergence using Markov chain theory, and analyze its performance through an example. All these indicate that, this solution model can effectively merge decision consciousness into the assignment process, posses interesting features of strong interpretability, easy operation and higher computation efficiency, so it can be widely used in many fields.

Abstract:Random test program generation is an important supporting technology for the function verification of processors.We design an efficient random test program generator for FlexEngine,an ASIP.We create the instruction set model by classifying instructions according to the function,which enable it test the key modules of FlexEngine selectively.Additionally,the traditional static constraints are strengthened by ISS,which analyze data dynamically.So,we add some accurate constraints,such as monitoring the range of register data,warning the endless loop.Experimental results show that the ATPG can test FlexEngine efficiently,which achieves high coverage beyond 90%,when the length of test program is only 3000.

Abstract:In the text it describes how to use computer to design and realize drawing a number.It improves the traditional drawing a number's efficiency and reliabily.When solving drawing-a-number problem,we need to solve the flowing problem:How to produce the number random fluctuation and no duplication.There we use the java language which provide thread to call the random function Math.random()repeatly,then we let the random number to some effecting exchanges then show the number on the screen.In this system,we use the database to store the drawing numbers.When we draw a number,we need delete the number from the database' s table to realize the no duplication drawing number.Because Accessing the database need sometime cost,we reload the database drawing numbers to the memory.After that when we use the drawing number,we use the memory storing numbers instead of the database's numbers.Drawing-a-number will last for a long time,so data safety become import.We use two databases to manage the data.
Study On Solution Models And Methods For Random Assignment Problem

Abstract:In this paper for the random assignment problem, we propose the concept of risk critical value of random variable on the basis of the analysis on the mechanism of random decision, and establish risk critical value models based on individual efficiency and objective benefit. Further, for the characteristic of each model, we present the concrete implementation strategy and method for random assignment problem based on objective benefit and genetic algorithm (denoted by GA-RAP, for short), by combining numerical method of calculating probability and evolutionary computation theory; and we prove that GA-RAP under forced preserving strategy is globally convergent by using Markov chain theory. Finally, by combining with a concrete example, We point out the limitation and deficiency of the risk critical value model based on individual efficiency, and analyze the performance of GA-RAP. All the results indicate, GA-RAP not only has better operability and convergence, but has higher computation efficiency and practicability.

Abstract:This paper presents a comprehensive study and analysis of the intelligent grouping of papers in adult higher education using a random matrix approach. Using the results of random matrix theory on the eigenvalues of the sample covariance matrix, the energy of each subspace is estimated, and the estimated energy is then used to construct a subspace weighting matrix. The statistical properties of the sample covariance matrix eigenvectors are analyzed using the first-order perturbation approximation, and then, asymptotic results from random matrix theory on the projection of the sample covariance matrix signal subspace to the real signal parametrization are used to obtain the weighting matrix based on the random matrix eigenvectors. Dynamic adjustment according to the fitness of individuals in the population is performed to ensure population diversity, while the combination of the small habitat technique can avoid the algorithm from falling into early convergence. The algorithm introduces chaos theory to optimize the population initialization process and uses the dynamic traversal randomness of chaos to select individuals in the population so that the initial population is close to the desired target solution. The design of the fitness function in the genetic algorithm generally maps the objective function of the problem to the fitness function. A good fitness function can directly reflect the quality of the individuals in the group. Based on the in-depth study of the basic attributes of the test questions and the principles of test paper evaluation, the mathematical model and objective function of intelligent paper grouping are determined by the difficulty, knowledge points, and cognitive level of the test questions as the main constraints, and NCAGA is applied to the intelligent paper grouping method, which better completes the intelligent paper grouping session for the computer system architecture course. In the process of designing the intelligent grouping algorithm, for the situations of premature convergence and convergence to locally optimal solutions that easily occur in the traditional genetic algorithm, this paper adopts the approach of adaptive adjustment of crossover probability and variation probability to improve the algorithm and achieves satisfactory results. Based on extensive business research, this paper completes the requirement analysis of the online practice system based on the intelligent grouping of papers and presents the functional design and database design of the key functional modules in the system in detail. Finally, this paper conducts functional tests on the system and analyses the test results.

Abstract:The assignment of papers to reviewers is a crucial part of the peer review processes of large publication venues, where organizers (e.g., conference program chairs) rely on algorithms to perform automated paper assignment. As such, a major challenge for the organizers of these processes is to specify paper assignment algorithms that find appropriate assignments with respect to various desiderata. Although the main objective when choosing a good paper assignment is to maximize the expertise of each reviewer for their assigned papers, several other considerations make introducing randomization into the paper assignment desirable: robustness to malicious behavior, the ability to evaluate alternative paper assignments, reviewer diversity, and reviewer anonymity. However, it is unclear in what way one should randomize the paper assignment in order to best satisfy all of these considerations simultaneously. In this work, we present a practical, one-size-fits-all method for randomized paper assignment intended to perform well across different motivations for randomness. We show theoretically and experimentally that our method outperforms currently-deployed methods for randomized paper assignment on several intuitive randomness metrics, demonstrating that the randomized assignments produced by our method are general-purpose.

Abstract:Based on the fact that repeated design and modification of algorithm as well as algorithm similarity caused by lack of well management is very common in data processing,this paper raises a new idea which attempts to select the best algorithm through the management of algorithms using a database.It first introduces the basic idea and model.Then the design and implementation of the system is raised.Lastly,it proves the practicability of this idea,it presents an experiment which intends to select the best denoising method for pictures with given noise.And the result confirms this point.

Abstract:This paper reviews recent literature on techniques for obtaining random samples from databases. We begin with a discussion of why one would want to include sampling facilities in database management systems. We then review basic sampling techniques used in constructing DBMS sampling algorithms, e.g. acceptance/rejection and reservoir sampling. A discussion of sampling from various data structures follows: B+ trees, hash files, spatial data structures (including R-trees and quadtrees). Algorithms for sampling from simple relational queries, e.g. single relational operators such as selection, intersection, union, set difference, projection, and join are then described. We then describe sampling for estimation of aggregates (e.g. the size of query results). Here we discuss both clustered sampling, and sequential sampling approaches. Decision-theoretic approaches to sampling for query optimization are reviewed.

Knockout-Tournament Procedures for Large-Scale Ranking and Selection in Parallel Computing Environments

Abstract:On one hand, large-scale ranking and selection (R&S) problems require a large amount of computation. On the other hand, parallel computing environments that provide a large capacity for computation are becoming prevalent today, and they are accessible by ordinary users. Therefore, solving large-scale R&S problems in parallel computing environments has emerged as an important research topic in recent years. However, directly implementing traditional stagewise procedures and fully sequential procedures in parallel computing environments may encounter problems because either the procedures require too many simulation observations or the procedures’ selection structures induce too many comparisons and too frequent communications among the processors. In this paper, inspired by the knockout-tournament arrangement of tennis Grand Slam tournaments, we develop new R&S procedures to solve large-scale problems in parallel computing environments. We show that no matter whether the variances of the alternatives are known or not, our procedures can theoretically achieve the lowest growth rate on the expected total sample size with respect to the number of alternatives and thus, are optimal in rate. Moreover, common random numbers can be easily adopted in our procedures to further reduce the total sample size. Meanwhile, the comparison time in our procedures is negligible compared with the simulation time, and our procedures barely request for communications among the processors.

In the present paper, a new method is proposed to handle the reliability-based design (RBD) with discrete deterministic and continuous random variable simultaneously First-order reliability method (FORM) and Monte Carlo simulation method are used to calculate the system reliability, respectively. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated and verified via a reducer design problem.

Abstract:Boolean Satisfiability problem (SAT) plays a prominent role in many domains of computer science and artificial intelligence due to its significant importance in both theory and applications. Algorithms for solving SAT problems can be categorized into two main classes: complete algorithms and incomplete algorithms (typically stochastic local search (SLS) algorithms). SLS algorithms are among the most effective for solving uniform random SAT problems, while hybrid algorithms achieved great breakthroughs for solving hard random SAT (HRS) problem recently. However, there is a lack of algorithms that can effectively solve both uniform random SAT and HRS problems. In this paper, a new SLS algorithm named SelectNTS is proposed aiming at solving both uniform random SAT and HRS problem effectively. SelectNTS is essentially an improved probability selection based local search algorithm, the core of which includes new clause and variable selection heuristics: a new clause weighting scheme and a biased random walk strategy are utilized to select a clause, while a new probability selection strategy with the variation of configuration checking strategy is used to select a variable. Extensive experimental results show that SelectNTS outperforms the state-of-the-art random SAT algorithms and hybrid algorithms in solving both uniform random SAT and HRS problems effectively.
