Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between levels of serum Laminin (LN),precollagen Ⅲ (PcⅢ) and interstitial lung involvement in rheumatic diseases. Methods Serum concentrations of LN and PcⅢ were measured by radioimmunoassay in 55 patients with rheumatic disease (SLE,RA,PM/DM,etc.) and compared with 55 normal controls from their healthy kinsfolk matched in sex and age. Results The concentrations of LN and PcⅢ in all patients with rheumatic diseases were significantly higher than those in healthy individuals ( P 0 01).In all interstitial lung involvement patients with respiratory symptoms,LN and PcⅢ levels showed much higher than those without symptoms ( P 0 01).The concentrations of LN and PcⅢ were higher in patients with interstitial lung involvement based on radiology than those without evidence, but there was no significant difference. The concentrations of LN and PcⅢ in 11 patients with diffusion disfunction were significantly higher than those in 44 individuals without ( P 0 01).Conclusion The levels of LN and PcⅢ are significantly increased in patients with interstitial lung involvement.Though there is no significant difference in patients with interstitial lung involvement based on radiology, serum concentrations of LN and PcⅢ in patients with diffusion disfunction are significantly higher than ones without.Serum concentrations of LN and PcⅢ are important parameters in evaluating activity of interstitial lung involvement.
