By using Jeanjean's monotonicity trick and the Pohozaev identity we get the existence results that generalize an earlier work [H. Liu and L. Zhao, Existence results for quasilinear Schrödinger equations with a general nonlinearity, Commun. Pure Appl. Anal. , 19(6):3429–3444, 2020] about the subcritical case to the critical case.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence and concentration behavior of ground state solutions for a class of Schrödinger-Poisson equation with a parameter ɛ > 0. Under some suitable conditions on the nonlinearity f and the potential V, we prove that for ε small, the equation has a ground state solution concentrating around global minimum of the potential V in the semi-classical limit. Also, the exponential decay of the ground state solutions is studied.

Abstract:In this paper we deal with a nonlinear Schrödinger–Poisson equation involving critical Sobolev exponent. Under a local condition imposed on the potential, we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values. In the proofs we apply Szulkin and Weth's generalized Nehari manifold methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the existence, multiplicity and concentration of positive ground state solutions for the semilinear Schrödinger–Poisson system {[ -ε^2Δ u+a(x)u+λϕ(x)u=b(x)f(u)+|u|^4u, x∈ℝ^3,; -ε^2Δϕ=u^2, u∈ H^1(ℝ^3), x∈ℝ^3, ]. where ε > 0 is a small parameter, f is a continuous, superlinear and subcritical nonlinearity, and λ≠0 is a real parameter. Suppose that a ( x ) has at least one global minimum and b ( x ) has at least one global maximum. We prove that there are two families of positive solutions for sufficiently small ε > 0 , of which one is concentrating on the set of minimal points of a and the other on the sets of maximal points of b . Moreover, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the nonexistence of positive ground state solutions.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence, multiplicity and concentration behaviour of ground states for a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations with critical growth. By using a change of variables, the quasilinear equations are reduced to a semilinear one, whose associated functionals are well defined in the usual Sobolev space and satisfy the geometric conditions of the mountain pass theorem. We relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum value. The proofs are based on the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann theory and variational methods.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate a class of logarithmic Schrödinger–Poisson system with critical growth which are from physically relevant backgrounds. Under suitable assumptions on the potential V ( x ), we obtain the existence of ground state solution for sufficiently small via using a constrained minimization on a Nehari manifold and some new techniques. Specially, by restricting the least energy c to a suitable interval, we overcome some difficulties brought by the critical term for restoring the compactness of the minimizing sequence of the least energy c .

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is three-fold. First, we establish singular Trudinger–Moser inequalities with less restrictive constraint: where 0 < β < 2 , V ( x ) ≥ 0 and may vanish on an open set in R 2 . Second, we consider the existence of ground states to the following Schrödinger equations with critical exponential growth in R 2 : where the nonlinearity f has the critical exponential growth. In order to overcome the lack of compactness, we develop a method which is based on the threshold of the least energy, an embedding theorem introduced in (C. Zhang and L. Chen, "Concentration-compactness principle of singular Trudinger-Moser inequalities in R n and n -Laplace equations," Adv. Nonlinear Stud. , vol. 18, no. 3, pp. 567–585, 2018) and the Nehari manifold to get the existence of ground states. Furthermore, as an application of inequality (0.1), we also prove the existence of ground states to the following equations involving degenerate potentials in R 2 :

Abstract:We consider the following two coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system: <math>−Δu+u=f1(x,u)+λ(x)v,x∈ℝ2,−Δv+v=f2(x,v)+λ(x)u,x∈ℝ2,</math>where the coupling parameter satisfies 0 < λ(x) ≤ λ0 < 1 and the reactions f1, f2 have critical exponential growth in the sense of Trudinger–Moser inequality. Using non‐Nehari manifold method together with the Lions's concentration compactness and the Trudinger‐Moser inequality, we show that the above system has a Nehari‐type ground state solution and a nontrivial solution. Our results improve and extend the previous results.

Abstract:We study the following critical Schrödinger-Possion system with steep potential well where is a positive parameter, is a continuous function and f is a continuous subcritical nonlinearity. Under some certain assumptions on V and f , for any , we prove the existence of a ground state solution via variational methods. Moreover, the concentration behavior of the ground state solution is also described as . Our results extends that in Jiang[11](J. Differ. Equ. 2011) and Zhao[21](J. Differ. Equ. 2013) to the critical growth case.

Abstract:We study the Schrödinger–Poisson–Slater equation where , , and is the Newtonian potential. We prove the nonexistence of nontrivial solutions, existence of positive nonradial (and radial) ground-state solutions, and mountain-pass-type solutions to (SPS), depending on the values of parameters p and . To our knowledge, this is the first study of the existence of ground-state solutions at positive energy levels when . Furthermore, we show that a symmetry breaking occurs for the ground-state solutions, which is a purely nonlocal phenomenon that cannot be observed in the local prototype case.

Suppose that 0 lies in a gap of the spectrum sigma(-Delta+a). Without periodic assumption on f, we prove the existence of ground state solution for the system. Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system with critical growth: where , is a smooth potential function and g is a appropriate nonlinear function. For the sake of overcoming the technical difficulties caused by the quasilinear term, we shall apply the perturbation method by adding a 4-Laplacian operator to consider the perturbation problem. Moreover, when g satisfying suitable assumptions and sufficiently large μ, we take advantage of constraint variational method, the quantitative deformation lemma, Moser iteration and approximation technique to obtain a least-energy sign-changing solution , which has precisely two nodal domains.
The planar Schrodinger--Poisson system with exponential critical growth: The local well-posedness and standing waves with prescribed mass

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a class of planar Schrödinger-Poisson systems with critical exponential growth. We establish conditions for the local well-posedness of the Cauchy problem in the energy space, which seems innovative as it was not discussed at all in any previous results. By introducing some new ideas and relaxing some of the classical growth assumptions on the nonlinearity, we show that such system has at least two standing waves with prescribed mass, where one is a ground state standing waves with positive energy, and the other one is a high-energy standing waves with positive energy. In addition, with the help of the local well-posedness, we show that the set of ground state standing waves is orbitally stable.
