Abstract:In this paper, we construct Liouville theorem for the MHD system and apply it to study the potential singularities of its weak solution. And we mainly study weak axi-symmetric solutions of MHD system in R-3 x (0, T).

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the Liouville type theorems for the steady incompressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations. We establish that the solution to the steady MHD equations is identically zero under the integrability assumptions on (v, b). We show that, in particular, a combination of a strong integrability condition on the velocity of a fluid and a weak integrability condition on the magnetic field gives a sufficient condition on the Liouville type theorems. Furthermore, we show that the combination of the growth condition of the potential for the fluid velocity and the integrability condition for the magnetic field leads to the triviality of the solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate Liouville type theorems for the three-dimensional steady-state MHD or Hall-MHD system under some asymptotic assumptions at infinity. Firstly, for the Hall-MHD system we obtain that $u$ and $B$ are constant vectors for any fluid viscosity, magnetic resistivity or Hall-coefficient when the magnetic field $B$ tends to a non-zero constant vector at infinity while the velocity field $u$ tends to $0$. Secondly, it also follows that $u$ and $B$ are constant for the Hall-MHD system when the velocity field tends to a constant vector at infinity while the magnetic field tends to $0$ without any assumptions on viscosity, magnetic resistivity or Hall-coefficient. One main difficulty lies in the Hall term, and we obtain the $L^p$ estimates of a generalized Oseen system with some supercritical terms via Lizorkin's theory and prove that the operator is stable by exploring Kato's stability theorem. Moreover, some similar results for the degenerate fluid viscosity or magnetic resistivity for the MHD system are also obtained, which is independent of interest.

Abstract:We show that any bounded smooth helically symmetric solution $(\Bu, \Bh)$ in $\mathbb{R}^3$ must be constant vectors. This is an extension of previous result \cite[Theorem 1.1]{HWXAHE} from Navier-Stokes system to MHD system. The proof relies on establishing a Saint-Venant type estimate to characterize the growth of Dirichlet integral of nontrivial solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the non-uniqueness of three-dimensional magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) system in $C([0,T];L^2(\mathbb{T}^3))$ for any initial data in $H^{\bar{\beta}}(\mathbb{T}^3)$~($\bar{\beta}>0$), by exhibiting that the total energy and the cross helicity can be controlled in a given positive time interval. Our results extend the non-uniqueness results of the ideal MHD system to the viscous and resistive MHD system. Different from the ideal MHD system, the dissipative effect in the viscous and resistive MHD system prevents the nonlinear term from balancing the stress error $(\RR_q,\MM_q)$ as doing in \cite{2Beekie}. We introduce the box flows and construct the perturbation consisting in six different kinds of flows in convex integral scheme, which ensures that the iteration works and yields the non-uniqueness.

Abstract:We establish a Liouville-type theorem for the elliptic and incompressible Magnetic-Bénard system defined over the entire three-dimensional space. Specifically, we demonstrate the uniqueness of trivial solutions under the condition that they belong to certain local Morrey spaces. Our results generalize in two key directions: firstly, the Magnetic-Bénard system encompasses other significant coupled systems for which the Liouville problem has not been previously studied, including the Boussinesq system, the MHD-Boussinesq system, and the Bénard system. Secondly, by employing local Morrey spaces, our theorem applies to Lebesgue spaces, Lorentz spaces, Morrey spaces, and certain weighted-Lebesgue spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper we prove some Liouville-type theorems for the stationary magneto-micropolar fluids under suitable conditions in three space dimensions. We first prove that the solutions are trivial under the assumption of certain growth conditions for the mean oscillations of the potentials. And then we show similar results assuming that the the solutions are contained in $L^p(\mathbb{R}^3)$ with $p\in[2,9/2)$. Finally we show the same result for lower values of $p\in[1,9/4)$ with the further assumption that the solutions vanish at infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we describe several stationary conditions on weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Landau-Lifshitz equation, which ensure the partial regularity. For certain class of proper stationary weak solutions, a compactness result of the solutions, a finite Hausdorff measure result of the t -slice energy concentration sets and an asymptotic limit result of the Radon measures are proved. We also present a subtle rectifiability result for the energy concentration set of certain sequence of strong stationary weak solutions.

Abstract:We study the two-dimensional MHD boundary layer equations. For small perturbation around a tangential background magnetic field, we obtain the global-in-time existence and uniqueness of solutions in Sobolev spaces. The proof relies on the novel combination of the well-explored cancellation mechanism and the idea of linearly-good unknowns, and we use the former idea to deal with the top tangential derivatives and the latter one admitting fast decay rate to control lower-order derivatives.

Abstract:By considering a general form of the Landau-Lifshitz equation under the influence of a homogeneous external magnetic fields, we prove that for a ferromagnetic body which occupies a bounded domain Ω in ℝ3 there exists a global weak solution either for the Dirichlet problem or for the Neumann problem. Although there is, in general, non-uniqueness result for the Landau-Lifshitz equation, the uniqueness result for the dynamic equation with constant initial data, which connects with the ground state of the magnetization in physical meanings, is pointed out.

Abstract:In this article, we consider the global existence and uniqueness of the solution to the 2D incompressible non-resistive MHD system with non-equilibrium background magnetic field. Our result implies that a strong enough non-equilibrium background magnetic field will guarantee the stability of the nonlinear MHD system. Beside the classical energy method, the interpolation inequalities and the algebraic structure of the equations coming from the incompressibility of the fluid are crucial in our arguments.

Abstract:We shall consider the regularity for 3D MHD equations in this paper. When the velocity field is bounded in a critical space and the magnetic field satisfies a weaker condition, it can be concluded that the weak solution of MHD equation is a smooth solution. We prove that the weak solutions are Hölder continuous if the velocity field belongs to some Lorentz space and the magnetic field belongs to a bigger space than Lorentz space, that is the magnetic field satisfies an even weaker condition than the velocity filed. Our main mathematical tool is the backward uniqueness theory for the parabolic operators established by Escauriaza, Seregin and $$\check{\text {S}}$$ ver $$\acute{\text {a}}$$ k.

Finite time blowup of strong solutions to the two dimensional MHD equations

Abstract:Whether the smooth solution of the multi-dimensional viscous compressible fluids will blow-up in finite time has always been a chanllenging problem. In the recent work\cite{FM}, Merle et al. proved that there are smooth solutions to the 2D radially symmetric compressible Navier-Stokes equations which will inevitably form shell singularities in finite time.\\ \indent In this article, we first prove the existence of local strong solutions that allow vacuum for the two-dimensional viscous compressible MHD equations on bounded domains without magnetic diffusion. Furthermore, it is shown that if the initial data are radial symmetric and its vacuum set contains a ball centered at the origin where the total magnetic field is non-trivial, then the radial symmetric strong solution to the initial boundary value problem will definitely blow up in finite time. This is the first example for the formation of finite time singularity of strong solutions that allows interior vacuum of a viscous compressible fluid.

Abstract:In this paper, we provide a much simplified proof of the main result in [Lin, Xu, Zhang, arXiv:1302.5877] concerning the global existence and uniqueness of smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for a 2D incompressible viscous and non-resistive MHD system under the assumption that the initial data are close to some equilibrium states. Beside the classical energy method, the interpolating inequalities and the algebraic structure of the equations coming from the incompressibility of the fluid are crucial in our arguments. We combine the energy estimates with the L^∞ estimates for time slices to deduce the key L^1 in time estimates. The latter is responsible for the global in time existence.
