Abstract:Applying Maple symbolic computations, we derive eight sets of mixed lump-soliton solutions to the (2 + 1)-dimensional BKP equation. The solutions are analytic and allow the separation of lumps and line solitons.

Abstract:In the previous Letter (Zheng C L and Zhang J F 2002 Chin. Phys. Lett. 19 1399), a localized excitation of the generalized Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (GAKNS) system was obtained via the standard Painleve truncated expansion and a special variable separation approach. In this work, starting from a new variable separation approach,a more general variable separation excitation of this system is derived. The abundance of the localized coherent soliton excitations like dromions, lumps, rings, peakons and oscillating soliton excitations can be constructed by introducing appropriate lower-dimensional soliton patterns. Meanwhile we discuss two kinds of interactions of solitons. One is the interaction between the travelling peakon type soliton excitations, which is not completely elastic. The other is the interaction between the travelling ring type soliton excitations, which is completely elastic.

Abstract:In this work, we research the mixed lump–kink solutions and their dynamic properties of the extended (3+1)-dimensional Jimbo–Miwa equation. Mixed lump–kink solutions are triggered by the interaction between lump soliton and exponential function, the interaction between lump soliton and hyperbolic function, and the interaction between lump soliton and periodic wave. Their dynamics properties are shown by means of many graphics and corresponding density plots.

Abstract:The Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation has significant applications in the accurate simulation of wave behavior in physical systems. In recent years, some machine learning methods have been used to obtain numerical solutions, with fewer studies focusing on novel and significant analytical solutions. This paper proposes the improved bilinear neural network method for the analytical solution of the KP-BBM equation. Inspired by Liu et al.'s work, it uses enhanced multi-parameter activation functions to solve a wider range of potential analytical solutions of the KP-BBM equation. In this method, neural network models are configured in both "3-3-1" single-layer and "3-2-3-1" double-layer setups, incorporating a variety of multi-parameter activation functions. By setting specific parameters and employing Maple for symbolic computation, we obtain abundant solutions such as the M-lump solutions, lump-breather solutions, and N-soliton wave solutions. The features of innovative solutions are clarified by a few three-dimensional figures, density plots, and contour maps of three specially presented solutions. These results provide valuable insights into multidimensional wave phenomena and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in rapidly solving solutions with diverse forms.

Abstract:In this letter, we obtain families of semi-rational solutions termed lump-soliton solutions to the Fokas system by using the Hirota's bilinear method combined with the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction method. These exact semi-rational solutions illustrate the collision of lumps and dark-line solitons. Two different types of evolution scenarios occur: (a) fusion of lumps and dark-line solitons into dark-line solitons, and (b) fission of dark-line solitons into lumps and dark-line solitons. In these distinct evolution processes, the lumps would get either created or annihilated by the dark-line solitons.

Abstract:Abstract The KP‐I equation has family of solutions which decay to zero at space infinity. One of these solutions is the classical lump solution, which is a traveling wave, and the KP‐I equation in this case reduces to the Boussinesq equation. In this paper we classify all the ‘lump‐type’ solutions of the Boussinesq equation. Using a robust inverse scattering transform developed by Bilman–Miller for the Schrödinger equation, we show that the lump‐type solutions are rational and their functions have to be polynomials of degree for some integer . In particular, this implies that the lump solution is the unique ground state of the KP‐I equation (as conjectured by Klein–Saut). The problem studied in this paper was mentioned in Airault–McKean–Moser, our result can be regarded as a two‐dimensional analogy of their theorem on the classification of rational solutions for the KdV equation.

Abstract:We use the bilinear Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction method for deriving new families of explicit lump–soliton solutions to the PT-symmetric nonlocal Fokas system. These lump–soliton solutions are semi-rational solitons that are classified into three different species under appropriate parametric restrictions: line solitons, rational lumps, and semi-rational lump–soliton solutions. There are three different fundamental lump–soliton solutions: two-line soliton, rational two-lump solution, and two-lump–two-line-soliton solution. The two-line-soliton solution displays five patterns according to their asymptotic analysis, the rational two-lump solution possesses six distinct patterns, and the two-lump–two-line-soliton solution has four different patterns. The two-lump–two-line-soliton solution displays inelastic interaction phenomena consisting of two lumps fusing into or fissioning from the two-line soliton. The multi-lump-soliton solutions illustrate the superimposition of N (N≥2) individual fundamental lump–soliton solutions: 2N-line solitons, rational 2N-lumps, and 2N-lump–2N˜-line solitons (N˜≤N). The higher-order lump–line-soliton solutions consist of rational 2n0-lump (n0≥2) solutions or 2n0-lump–two-line-soliton solutions.

Abstract:Based on generalized bilinear forms, lump solutions, rationally localized in all directions in the space, to dimensionally reduced p -gKP and p -gBKP equations in (2+1)-dimensions are computed through symbolic computation with Maple. The sufficient and necessary conditions to guarantee analyticity and rational localization of the solutions are presented. The resulting lump solutions contain six parameters, two of which are totally free, due to the translation invariance, and the other four of which only need to satisfy the presented sufficient and necessary conditions. Their three-dimensional plots with particular choices of the involved parameters are made to show energy distribution.

Abstract:There are various different ways to obtain traveling waves of lump type for the KP equation. We propose a general and simple approach to derive them via a Backlund transformation. This enables us to establish an explicit connection between those low energy solutions and high energy ones. Based on this construction, spectral analysis of the degree $6$ solutions is then carried out in details. The analysis of higher energy ones can be done in an inductive way.

Abstract:In this paper, a variable-coefficient symbolic computation approach is used for handling the (2+1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Hirota–Satsuma–Ito equation based on the Mathematica11 version. Abundant lump-type solutions have been obtained, including lump, lump-one soliton, lump-two solitons, lump-periodic, and lump–soliton–periodic solutions. Subsequently, the dynamic properties of these derived solutions are discussed through a large number of three-dimensional and density plots.

Abstract:In this study, we focus on investigating a novel extended (3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev–Petviashvili–Boussinesq-like (KPB-like) equation. Initially, we utilized the Lie symmetry method to determine the symmetry generator by considering the Lie invariance condition. Subsequently, by similar reduction, the equation becomes ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Exact analytical solutions were derived through the power series method, with a comprehensive proof of solution convergence. Employing the (G′/G2)-expansion method enabled the identification of trigonometric, exponential, and rational solutions of the equation. Furthermore, we established the auto-Bäcklund transformation of the equation. Multiple-soliton solutions were identified by utilizing Hirota's bilinear method. The fundamental properties of these solutions were elucidated through graphical representations. Our results are of certain value to the interpretation of nonlinear problems.

Abstract:In this article, the potential Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (pKP) type coupled system with variable coefficients is studied, which have many applications in wave phenomena and soliton interactions in a two-dimensional space with time. In this framework, Hirota bilinear form is applied to acquire diverse types of interaction lump solutions from the foresaid equation. Abundant lump, lump-periodic, lump-soliton and multi soliton solutions to the pKP system are presented by the Hirota bilinear form and a mixture of exponentials and trigonometric functions. Lump, lump-periodic, lump-soliton and multi soliton solutions are studied with the usage of symbolic computation. In addition, the symbolic computation and the applied methods for governing model are investigated. The movement role of the waves is investigated, and the theoretical analysis of the acquired solutions is discussed using the bilinear technique of all produced solutions with 2D and 3D plots with respective parameters. The computational difficulties and outcomes highlight the clarity, effectiveness, and simplicity of the approaches, suggesting that these schemes can be applied to a variety of dynamic and static nonlinear equations governing evolutionary phenomena in computational physics as well as to other real-world situations and a wide range of academic fields. We used software Maple 2024 "(http://www.maplesoft.com/)".

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on investigating a (2+1)-dimensional generalized breaking soliton (gBS) equation with five model parameters, which contains a lot of important nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) as its special cases. Firstly, the integrability features of two special cases of the gBS equation are clarified. Secondly, a general method is established to construct solutions formed by a combination of <math>n−cosh</math> and <math>n−cos</math> expressions. The similar results can be generalized to other PDEs which possess the Hirota bilinear forms. Thirdly, by introducing the nonzero seed solution, we obtain the real non-static lumps, lump-soliton solutions and other relevant exact solutions. The results expand the understanding of lump, freak wave and their interaction solutions in soliton theory. Moreover, various graphical analyses on the presented solutions are made to reveal the dynamic behaviors, which gives an essential improvement in the physical realizing of higher-dimensional lump waves in oceanography and nonlinear optics.

Abstract:Nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) have a wide range of applications in various fields, including physics, engineering, biology, economics, and more. These equations are used to describe complex systems that change over time, where the state or behavior of the system not only depends on the current situation, but may also be related to the past. A deep understanding of the solutions to NLEEs is of great significance for predicting and controlling the behavior of complex systems. The (3 + 1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Boussinesq-like (KPB-like) equation represents a partial differential equation that describes nonlinear wave phenomena in multi-dimensional spaces. This model is commonly employed in fields such as fluid dynamics, plasma physics, and nonlinear optics to study wave behaviors. This paper investigates the KPB-like equations, which have meaningful physical implications in describing nonlinear wave phenomena. Hirota bilinear method is employed to derive the bilinear form for the KPB-like equation and 1-soliton, 2-soliton, lump, and travelling wave solutions are studied to this kind of nonlinear model. In addition, the chaotic behaviors of soliton and lump solutions are explored via applying the Duffing chaotic system. To have a better understanding of dynamic structures, 3D, line, density and contour map plots of begotten results are displayed. Our results indicate the directness and effectiveness of the applied method for analyzing high-dimensional differential equations that arise in nonlinear science.

Abstract:The precise solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional modified KdV-KP equation are examined in this study. Three reliable methods, namely, the modified auxiliary equation scheme, extended rational sine-cosine methodology, and extended rational sinh-cosh technique, are utilized for the first time to extract multiple soliton solutions for the governing model. Graphical simulations of the obtained solutions are included in the form of 3 dimensional surface plots to reveal their physical structure and dynamical features.

Then one investigates the real line solitons structure of BKP equation using the totally non-negative Grassmannian.
