Experimental study on the antivirus effect of Shuanghuanglian and herba houttuyniae on mouse hepatitis virus strain Ⅲ in vitro

Abstract:Objective To investigate the inhibition effect of Shuanghuanglian,herba houttuyniae injection on the murine hepatitis virus strain 3(MHV-3) and find out their mechanisms against MHV-3.Methods A MHV-3 infected cell model was(established) by MHV-3-infected L2 cell culture.Their maximum toleraned concentration(MTC) of L2 cell to Shuanghuanglian,herba houttuyniae treatment were measured with MTT colorimetric assay.Their median effective inhibitory concentration(IC_(50)) were determined by plaque-reduction assay.The antiviral effect of Shuanghuanglian,herba houttuyniae were studied by(using) different administration procedures.Results The median toxic concentration(TC_(50)) of Shuanghuanglian,herba houttuyniae were respectively 6()100()μg·ml~(-1),500()μg·ml~(-1).The IC_(50) were respectirely 304.9()μg·ml~(-1),22.06()μg·ml~(-1).The treatment index(TI)were respectively 20.07,22.67.The MTC of(Shuang-)(huanglian,)herba houttuyniae were respectively(1()000()μg·ml~(-1)) and 51.29()μg·ml~(-1).Conclusion Shuanghuanglian,herba houttuyniae are effective on inhibiting the mouse hepatitis virus strain 3.
