Abstract:E-commerce development and applications have been bringing the Internet to business and marketing and reforming our current business styles and processes. As Business to Business (B2B) has been a main stream of the e-commerce activities for a decade, business to customer (B2C) is still a new area to explore. Among the business to customer activities, a strong impact is security, i.e., how to protect secrets of various parties in business transactions. Different security methods apply to different businesses and meet different customers' needs. The methods with low cost and easy to implement may be less secure, whereas the methods providing high level security can be unaffordable to many small enterprises and individuals. In particular, people, while browsing or surfing on the Web, wish to pay a very small amount and "buy" (perhaps just download) an interesting item from the Web. The "click-and-pay" or "click-and-buy" does not require high security protection and should be convenient to use (buy and pay). Micro-payment issue emerges from the context to meet the need of applicability of low secure and cost in e-purchase. Payments of small amounts may enable many exciting applications on the Internet, such as selling information, small software and services. Users are willing to pay a small amount of money for the information, software and services. While the payment is small, expensive security protection is unnecessary. What users require may include negligible delay, rapid click-through, and automatic billing. Micro-payment is a service intensive activity, where many payment tasks involve different forms of services, such as payment method selection for buyers, security support software, product price comparison, etc. In this paper, we intend to investigate and analyze various aspects of micro-payment system using the web service technology. We will discuss business patterns for micro-payment systems using Web Services approaches.

The rapid development of the Web, in particular, the introduction of the semantic web and web service technologies, enables business processes, modeling and management to enter an entirely new stage. Traditional web based business data and transactions can now be analyzed, extracted and modeled to discover new business rules and to form new business strategies, let alone mining the business data in order to classify., customers or products. In this paper, we investigate and analyze the business integration models in the context of web services using a micro-payment system because a micro-payment system is considered to be a service intensive activity, where many payment tasks involve different forms of services, such as payment method selection for buyers, security support software, product price comparison, etc. We will use the micro-payment case to discuss and illustrate how the web services approaches support and transform the business process and integration model.

Abstract:Mobile payment is the killer application in mobile commerce. We classify the payment methods according to several standards, analyze and point out the merits and drawbacks of each method. To enable future applications and technologies handle mobile payment, we provide a general layered framework and a new process for mobile payment. The framework is composed of load-bearing layer, network interface and core application platform layer, business layer, and decision-making layer. And it can be extended and improved by the developers. Then a pre-pay and account-based payment process is described. Our method has the advantages of low cost and technical requirement, high scalability and security.

Abstract:This paper puts forward a new electronic payment improved scheme, which combines SET and TTP. The scheme aims to design a safer and reliabler electronic payment system. Through the comparative analysis method, this paper analyzes the disadvantages of the SSL and SET payment protocol, and the existing problems of the third-party payment(TTP) platform, and use the method of capital trusteeship with guarantee of insurance to solve precipitation risk problems. Abstract:With rapid development of information and communication technologies purchasing digital content through the Internet has been greatly increased. Therefore, secure and fair electronic payment systems are important issue. To reduce system computational, communication and storage costs in many existing electronic schemes, Yang et al. recently proposed a novel electronic payment system based on authenticated encryption technology. But, Chaudhry et al. showed that Yang et al.'s electronic payment system is vulnerable to impersonation attack. Furthermore, Chaudhry et al. proposed improved electronic payment system. But, in this paper we point that Chaudhry et al.'s improved electronic payment system does not satisfy anonymity and fairness properties and the dispute resolution means in Chaudhry et al.'s electronic payment system are not effective. Furthermore, combining authenticated encryption and verifiably encrypted signatures technologies, we propose an improvement on Chaudhry et al.'s electronic payment system. Compared with Chaudhry et al.'s electronic payment system, the major changes of the proposed electronic payment system are in exchange phase. In this phase the private key and public key of the user are not needed, and the user generates verifiably encrypted signatures on his payment voucher. These changes guarantee the user anonymity, eliminate the advantages of the merchant, ensure the fairness of the payment system and the effectiveness of the dispute resolution phase. We also give the comparisons of proposed electronic payment system with some existing electronic payment systems.

Abstract:Along with globally approaching of the 3G era, the progress of mobile communication technology and the development of mobile terminal devices will rapidly promote the mobilization development of traditional E-commerce. In order to ensure it to achieve further development, secure, flexible and reliable mobile payment system is becoming more and more important. Compared with the payment pattern of ordinary commerce, there will be profound changes in the mobile payment, such as special payment channel, payment carrier and etc. After deep studying about previous payment methods and future 3G communication technology, this paper introduces a new mobile payment model by combining with IC chip, mobile phone and mobile internet, and then gives some improvement measures for current settlement mechanisms in the network transaction, which is entirely around payment channel, payment carrier, security authentication and other key issues in 3G environment. The real time processing of information flow, capital flow and logistics in mobile environment can be easily achieved, forming a complete and reliable business operation for mobile users, which can bring some great conveniences and profound influences for mobile payment industry.
An Electronic Payment Model for Small and Medium Enterprises in Zimbabwe

Abstract:Electronic payment systems are proliferating in banking, retail in government and everywhere money needs to be exchanged. Electronic payment systems are the everyday technology under use, they are the relevant systems which go hand in hand with technology and they are also high in demand. All these issues enlighten a need to design and implement an electronic payment system that addresses the specific requirements for the Zimbabwean market. An effective and universal electronic payment system in Zimbabwe can solve some problems which are currently encountered in e- commerce, thus we designed a light weight electronic payment model, universal and offering better integration to banks, all merchants and Small and Medium Enterprises. It is comprised of attributes which any electronic payment system is expected to have. It has its own security features especially the offline authentication method and other security aspects which are currently in use by banks. The integrated architectural view of the model makes it a possible solution to some current problems. This model creates a pathway for an ideal full implementation of an electronic payment system. We com- pared our model with the existing electronic payment systems in Zimbabwe. We realized that our model compares fairly with the existing models.

Abstract:Despite the potential of micro-payment systems very few systems have been successful. Little is known about the reasons behind the successful few and the failures of the majority. Micro-payment markets exhibit two-sided network effects and the underlying dynamics of these markets are not very well understood. Based on a stylized model of a two-sided market, we find that a 'survival mass' of merchants and consumers is required for a micro-payment system to exist and a 'critical mass' for the acceptance levels to take off and remain stable. We also find the non-intuitive result that lowering the consumer-side adoption cost will actually reduce the chances for the micro-payment market to develop. Thus, subsidization alone cannot create a micro-payment market. Anecdotal evidence supports this finding. When subsidization is needed, the consumer side will normally be subsidized. The two-sided market structure makes comparative analysis complex and non-trivial, rendering the implementation of micro-payment systems very difficult as indicated by the mixed results of a number of initiatives worldwide.

Abstract:This comprehensive survey deliberated over the security of electronic payment systems. In our research, we focused on either dominant systems or new attempts and innovations to improve the level of security of the electronic payment systems. This survey consists of the Card-present (CP) transactions and a review of its dominant system i.e. EMV including several researches at Cambridge university to designate variant types of attacks against this standard which demonstrates lack of a secure "offline" authentication method that is one of the main purpose of using the smart cards instead of magnetic stripe cards which are not able to participate in authentication process, the evaluation of the EMV migration from RSA cryptosystem to ECC based cryptosystem 3. The evaluation of the Card-not-present transactions approaches including 3D Secure, 3D SET, SET/EMV and EMV/CAP, the impact of concept of Tokenization and the role of Blind Signatures schemes in electronic cash and E-payment systems, use of quantum key distribution (QKD) in electronic payment systems to achieve unconditional security rather than only computational assurance of the security level by using traditional cryptography, the evaluation of Near Field Communication (NFC) and the contactless payment systems such as Google wallet, Android Pay and Apple Pay, the assessment of the electronic currency and peer to peer payment systems such as Bitcoin. The criterion of our survey for the measurement and the judgment about the quality of the security in electronic payment systems was this quote: "The security of a system is only as strong as its weakest link"

Abstract:Electronic money products have advanced quickly with the rapid growth of electronic commerce, and different stakeholders show shared concern on the related impact. In order to have a holistic and in-depth analysis of the e-money issues, this paper studies the e-money dynamics from complex system perspective. System complexity analysis is conducted and a four-phase modeling approach is proposed. This model takes consideration of the e-money circulation in e-commerce as well as its correlation with monetary policy and macro-economy environment. Key variables are chosen and causal relationships between them are built. A software system EADS based on this model is developed, and the evolution of e-money and its impact on macro-economy are simulated and analyzed in it. Further research direction and some related topics are discussed as closing remarks.

An idea of designing a new payment system model was put forward, combining with the technical advantages of web service. This system adopted SET protocol as the basic flow frame of the payment system to ensure the system high security. Abstract:The rapid growth of international interconnected information networks is stimulating strong demand for new payment methods, which could be fast and secure. Electronic money is world widely considered as new means of payment, and has been growing dramatically in both E-Commerce and M-Commerce for the last decade. However, due to the acceleration and enlargement effects, e-money could exert great impact to the country or even the international economic system in the future, and therefore should be carefully analysis and monitor. In this paper, we put the e-money into two categories: dependent and independent. The dependent e-money is simply the substitute of cash or deposit, and could not work without traditional money. The independent e-money, instead, could reproduce itself. We then give detailed discussion about current circulation modes of e-money, and analyze the potential impact from these two kinds of e-money on economy. We also propose a model-based simulation to perform quantitative analysis. In this way, we could take in-depth understanding of the development of e-money, as well as its impact to economy. © 2009 Binary Information Press March, 2009.

Abstract:Summary. Some privacy-protecting electronic payment systems have been proposed to realise revocable anonymity among users. Building on these results, a fair off-line electronic cash system (e-cash, for short) is presented featuring that all users are organised into a single group. This novel e-cash system is more efficient and more secure. It is able of coin tracing and owner tracing. The anonymity of the system can be revoked under certain conditions by an off-line trusted third authority. The system is untraceable (under normal cases), unlinkable, and resistant to double spending. Furthermore, compared with the previous e-cash systems, this payment protocol is computationally more efficient.

Abstract:Mobile devices have become near-ubiquitous tools in our daily lives. Following this trend, mobile commence is developed rapidly which in turns stimulates interests in mobile payment. Some prominent examples include Googles Wallet, WeChat Pay, and Apple Pay. Most of these technologies, however, are designed for users to be able to pay conveniently to the business. In other words, they are designed with the business to user model in mind. Besides, an active network connection with an external payment server is required either from payer or payee during transaction. Our work intends to supplement existing solutions, which allows payment to be made in an off-line and dual-anonymous manner. In doing so, a dual-anonymous off-line electronic cash scheme is proposed by utilizing BBS+ signature. The feature of our scheme is dual-anonymous payment, which means that both the payer and the payee in any transaction cannot be identified even all other users and the payment server collude. Through security proof and performance analysis, we also demonstrate that the security of the proposed scheme can be reduced to standard assumptions and it is suitable for applications in mobile commerce.
