An Analytical Frame of Industry Competition from the Viewpoint of Input-Output

Abstract:The regional industry competition system and its constituent elements are discussed firstly in this paper. Accord-ing to the facts that resource competition and market competition widely exit between different industries,a two dimensions conceptual model of the industry competitive pressure is established,and its measurement method is proposed based on in-ter-industry input-output data. On the basis of this concept and measurement methods,this paper proposes a universal framework for quantitative analysis in order to provide a common paradigm for the study to these regional industry competi-tion systems. The analytical framework is based on the microscopic mechanism of industry competition,and it starts from the structure analysis and the statistics nature of industry system. It can penetrate deeply into the industrial system to char-acterize the topological structure,statistical characteristics and competitive natures of the industry competition network,and to predict the long-term evolution behavior in regional industry competition systems and the effect of industrial policy. So this analytical framework provides the theoretical and methodology support in the competitive analysis area of the industry system.
