PTEN Expression in Renal Interstital Fibrosis of Rats Induced by Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction

Abstract:Objective:To explore the role of PTEN in the renal tubular in the process of renal interstitial fibrosis caused by unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO) in rats.Methods:Rats were sacrificed at the 7th,14th and 21th days after UUO or sham-surgery.The protein expression of p27 in renal tubular was detected by immuohistochemistry at each time point(the 7th,14th,21st days).Results:At the 7th,14th and 21th days after surgery,there was a significant decrease in expression of PTEN in renal tubular cells between UUO and SOR(P<0.05).The expression of PTEN in renal tubular cells was noticeably changed at the 21st days after UUO.Conclusion:The PTEN expression was obviously decreased in rats after UUO,and it was significantly reduced with the renal interstitial fibrosis progressing.
