Abstract:Dictamdiol is a limonoid derivative isolated from the bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the compound were recorded and completely assigned by 2D NMR techniques,including HMBC,HMQC and NOESY.

Abstract:A 4-O-5-tetramer lignin model compound carrying beta-O-4 linkages on each Of the side-chain Moieties was synthesized, as well as 4-O-5-coupled dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol. By comparison with theiriNMR,data, two cross signals in the HSQC spectrum Of pane milled wood lignin recorded in DMSO-d(6) were assigned-to H2/C2 and H6/C6 correlations on the aromatic rings of 4-O-5-linke.d units; Although the H2/C2 correlation peak- appeared in the same region as syringyl units, nitrobenzene-oxidation of "the pine lignin did not yield any syringyl-type product, but did release a 4-O-5-type product.

A simple and specific quantitative method for determination of dictamnine in Dictamni Cortex by 1H NMR spectroscopy

Abstract:Dictamni Cortex (Baixianpi) is a commonly used medicinal herb in traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), possessing various bioactivities. Quinoline alkaloids are regarded as one of the main active components in this herb. In the present study, a more convenient, specific and accurate analytical method using H-1 NMR has been developed for the quantitative determination of dictamnine, one of the main active quinoline alkaloids in Dictamni Cortex. In a less crowded region delta 8.0-8.5, the signal of H-5 of dictamnine was well separated from other signals in chloroform-d(1). The quantity of dictamnine was calculated by means of the integral value of H-5 of dictamnine to that of the known amount of internal standard, pyrazine. This assay was precise and reproducible, with RSDs less than 3%. The recovery results of dictamnine were observed between 92.10 and 108.10% and the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 3.3 mu g ml(-1) and 13.2 mu g ml(-1), respectively. This newly developed method was proven to be highly accurate, precise and robust, for the determination of dictamnine in Dictamni Cortex. The results obtained from H-1 NMR method were also compared with those from conventional HPLC method, and no remarkable difference was found between these two methods.

Abstract:Inclusion of cresols by beta-cyclodextrin in DHO has been investigated by H-1 NMR spectra, Although chemical shifts of the same proton are different in the cavity of empty and enclosed beta-cyclodextrin, only a time-average peak has been detected for a proton in the spectra. The value of chemical shift corresponds to enclosed degree of cresol by beta-cyclodextrin. The average structure of inclusion has been determined Based on H-1 NMR data, it describes dynamic depth of cresol in the cavity of beta-cyclodextrin.

Abstract:Two new dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans, named kadoblongifolins A (1)and B (2), and one new natural product dibenzocyclooctadiene lignan, named kadoblongifolin C (3), were isolated from the stems of Kadsura oblongifolia (K. oblongifolia), together with five known ones, schizanrin F (4), propinquanin C (5), schisantherin G (6), heteroclitin Q (7), kadsurarin (8). The structures of these new lignans were elucidated by a combination of high-resolution electron ionization mass spectrometry (HR-EI-MS), H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY spectra. Abstract:A combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques, including HMQC, HSQC, 1H-1H COSY and HMBC, was used to provide completely assigned 1H and 13C NMR data for the structures of three 3-[substituted methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-ones—3-[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one, 3-[(4-fluorophenyl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho-[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one and 3-[(thiophen-3-yl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one. The heteronuclear coupling constants 1–4JCF and 3–4JHF were correspondingly determined. Additionally, IR and Raman spectral data were provided in support of the assigned structures.

Abstract:Aim To investigate the structure of mogroside Iva isolated from traditional Chinese medicine fructus mo-mordicae [ fruits of Siraitia grosvenori (Swingle) C. Jeffery] and summarize the NMR characteristics of the structure. Meth-ods Common extraction, separation and purification methods were used. Various NMR techniques including 1 H NMR,13 CNMR, DEPT, 1H-1H COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY and molecular model simulated by computer were used to elucidatethe structure. Results 1 H and 13 C NMR signals of mogroside Ⅳa were assigned, and spectroscopic basis was obtained for identification of such type of compounds. Conclusion 1D and 2D NMR techniques including 1 H-1 H COSY, HSQC, HM-BC, NOESY spectra are powerful tools for structure analysis. The structure determined by NMR methods is identical with energy minimized conformation simulated by computer.

Abstract:The structure of a new compound, isolated from the endophyte of the semi-mangrove plant Hibiscus tilianceus, was elucidated with nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the primary H-1 NMR test, it was found that some signal lines were submerged under the "water peak", and this would interfere with the analysis of NMR spectra. In this work, the variational rule between the water-peak chemical shift and the water content was investigated for solvent DMSO-d(6). Using the results, the water-peak chemical shift was modulated with certain amount of extra water introduced into the practical sample tests. As a result, the interference of water peak was overcome, and a group of suitable spectra including H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, COSY, HMQC, HMBC, etc., were obtained. The structural elucidation of the new compound was achieved, and it was confirmed that this compound belonged to a triterpenoid of oleanane, and identified as 3,4-seco-olean-11,13-dien-4,15 alpha,22 beta,24-tetraol-3-oic acid.

Abstract:Pure alterporriol I, together with 13 known altersolanol-type compounds and alterporriols, was isolated from a culture broth of the marine-derived fungus Pleospora sp. The NMR data of alterporriol I were completely assigned on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR spectral analysis, and its stereochemistry was determined from the CD spectrum. Other known compounds were identified by comparison of their spectra with those reported. Alterporriol I showed good inhibitory activity against methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MIC 0.5 μg/mL) and S. epidermidis (MIC 8 μg/mL).

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents in bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus. METHOD Isolation and purification were carried out on silica gel column chromatography, prepared thin layer chromatography and sephadex LH - 20, et al. The structures were identified by spectral analysis. RESULT Twelve compounds were obtained from bark of D. dasycarpus and the structures were determined as dictamnine (I), fraxinellone (II), skimmianine (III), gamma-fagarine (IV ), beta-sitosterol (V), obacunone (VI), limonin disophenol (VII), fraxinellonone (VIII), wogonin (IX), rutevin (X), kihadinin B (XI), dasycarine (XII). CONCLUSION Compounds IX and XI were isolated from genus Dictamnus for the first time, and compound VIII was isolated from the species for the first time.

Abstract:Nineteen compounds, including kihadanin D (1), obacunone (2), kihadanin A (3), kihadanin B (4), kihadanin C (5), limonin (6), evodol (7), fraxinellone (8), furo[2,3-b]quinolin-4-ol (9), preskimmianine (10), ifflaiamine (11), dictamnol (12), naringenin (13), diosmetin (14), wogonin (15), scopoletin (16), cleomiscosin A (17), apocynin (18), and methyl pyroglutamate (19), were isolated from the methanol extract of the root barks of Dictamnus dasycarpus by using various column chromatographies. Their chemical structures were extensively determined on basis of UV, IR, NMR, MS, and CD spectroscopic data analyses. Among them, 1 is a new limonoid, 9 was isolated from plant kingdom for the first time, 11, 13-14 and 17-19 were obtained from the genus Dictamnnus for the first time. Cytotoxicities of compounds 1-18 were tested, and the results indicated that 1 exhibited cytotoxicities against three human cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231, A549 and HT29 with IC₅₈ values of 16.22, 21.72 and 31.06 μmol·L⁻¹, respectively.
