Intracranial Hemangiopericytoma with Pulmonary Metastasis:A Case Report(Literature Review)

Abstract:Aim:To study on clinical,pathological,radiological feature and trearnent of the hemangiopericytoma (HPC).Methods:A case of intracranial hemangiopericytoma recurrence with pulmonary metastasis was reported,and literatures were reviewed.Results:Intracranial hemangiopericytoma recurrence with pulmonary multiple metastasis is rare.HPCs are usually misdiagnosed as meningiomas in radiological findings.MRI: Hypo-isointensity on T1WI,heterogeneous iso-hyperintensity on T2WI,a"dural tail"sign and vascular void flow can be found in MR images.The spindle tumor cells and antler-Eke ramification can be found in pathology. Intracranial HPC is one of the rare primary intracranial tumors which can metastasize outside of the central nervous system.The character of recurrence and metastasis of the disease requires enbloc resection and adjuctive radiotherapy.Conclusion:Intracranial hemangiopericytoma is a tumor with highly recurrence and metastasis.The recurrence and metastasis of HPC often occur in sites such as lung,bones and liver.
