Abstract:Three kinds of sterols have been isolated from Meretrix meretrix for the first time. Their chemical structures were identified by MS, IR, NMR spectrometer as cholesterol (1) , 5α,8α-epidioxycholest-6-ene-3β-ol(2) and cholest-4-ene-3β,6β-diol(3).

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens. Method Column chromatography on sephadex LH-20 as well as preparative HPLC and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents. Result Six compounds were isolated from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens, and identified as vanillin (I), syringic aldehyde (II), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (III), vanillic acid (IV), syringic acid (V), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, ethyl ester (VI). Conclusion All above the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:Four compounds were named (Z)-9-Octadecenoic acid monoglyceryl ester( Ⅰ ) , chol-esta-5, 22-dien-3β-ol( Ⅱ ) , cholesterol ( Ⅲ), cholesta-8 (14 )-en-3α-ol (Ⅳ). They were isolated from Styela clava (collected from Qingdao). Their structures were elucidated by various spectral analysis (IR ,MS ,1H-NMR , 13 C-NMR) and comparison of chemical and physical data with authentic samples reported in literature. Compound I was obtained for the first time from Styela clava.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the constituents in the whole plants of Clematis terniflora DC.METHODS Column chromatographic methods (including silica gel and Sephadex LH-20) were used to separate constituents whose structures were elucidated by ESI-MS,NMR spectral data and hydrolysis methods.RESULTS Seven compounds were isolated and elucidated as tricosanol (Ⅰ),heptacosanoic acid (Ⅱ),3,5,7,3′-tetrahydroxyflavone (Ⅲ),5,7,3′,5′-tetrahydroxy-dihydroflavone (Ⅳ),apigenin (Ⅴ),luteolin (Ⅵ) and stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅶ). CONCLUSION Compound Ⅰ～Ⅳ are isolated from Clematis genus for the first time.

Abstract:In the present study,the constituents in the petroleum ether fraction from the extract of Nerviliae fordii(Hance) Schltr were separated by using various kinds of chromatography techniques and recrystallization,and their structures were identifed on the basis of spectral and physicochemical analysis.Ten compounds were isolated from this fraction,and identified as β-sitosterol(1),stigmaterol(2),(9R,10R,7E)-6,9,10-trihydroxyoctadec-7-enoic acid(3),(20S,22E,24R)-ergosta-7,22-dien3β,5α,6β-triol(4),stigmast-22-en-3β,6β,9β-triol(5),ergosta-7,22-dien-3β,5α,6α-triol(6),3β-hydroxystigmasr-5,22-dien-7-one(7),3β-hydroxystigmasr-5-en-7-one(8),aurantiamide acetate(9),and aurantiamide benzoate(10).Among them,compounds 3,5 ～ 8 and 10 were obtained from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:The chemical constituents of Hedysarum semenovii were studied.The compounds were separated by chromatographic methods and identified on the basis of spectral analysis.Four compounds,medicarpin(I),betulinic acid(II),guanosine(III) and daucosterol(IV) were obtained.Compound I-IV were obtained from this plant for the first time,while compound III was obtained from genus Hedysarum for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents in the whole herb of Anoectochiluts roxburghii (Wall) Lindl.METHOD:The chemical constituents were isolated by various column chromatographic methods and structurally elucidated by IR, NMR and MS evidences.RESULT:Fourteen compounds were obtained and there into ten were identified as beta-sitosterol(2), ferulic acid(3), oleanolic acid(6), lanosterol(7), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde(8), 3-methoxyl-p-hydroxybenzaldehlde(9), daucosterol(10),3',4',7-trimethoxy-3, 5-dihydroxyflavone(11), isorhamnetin-3-O-beta-D-rutinoside(12) and rutin(13).CONCLUSION:Compounds 6,7,9 and 11 from genera Anoeetochilus were isolated for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To isolate and determine the chemical constituents from Astilbe chinensis. METHOD:Four compounds were isolated and purified by extraction and column chromatography on silica gel. The chemical structures were determined on the basis of physical-chemical evidence and extensive spectral analysis(HR-EIMS, EIMS, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, DEPT, 1H-1H-COSY, HMQC and HMBC). RESULT:Their structures were elucidated as beta-sitosterol palmitate I, daucosterol II beta-sitosterol III and Bergenin IV, respectively. CONCLUSION:Compound I and II were isolated from A. chinensis for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of Swertia mussotii.METHODS:The constituents were isolated by various column chromatography methods, and their structures were identified by physico-chemical properties and spectral analysis.RESULTS:Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as 1,3, 8-trihydroxy-7-methoxyxanthone (I), 2,8-dihydroxy-1,6-dimethyoxyxanthone (II), 1,8-dihydroxy-2,6-dimethoxyxanthone (III), 1,2,8-trimethoxyxanthone (IV), 1,3,5,6-tetrohyroxyxanthone (V), 1,8-dihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyxanthone (VI), beta-daucosterol (VII), clerosterol 3beta-O-[6'-o-hydro-benzene-beta-D-glucoside] (VIII), ursolicacid (IX), 3beta,28-dihydroxylup-20 (29) -ene (X), erythrocentaurin (XI).CONCLUSION:Compounds VIII, IX and X are isolated from Swertia mussotii for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate the constituents from the Stems of Spatholobus suberectus.METHOD:The chemical constituents were isolated by column chromatography and their strutures were identified on base of physical and spectral data.RESULT:Five compounds were isolated and identified as 2-methoxy-4-(2'-hydroxyethyl)-phenyl-1-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), n-butyl-O-beta-D-fructo pyranoside (2), glycerol-alpha-pentacosanoate (3), betulinic acid (4) and hexacosanoic acid (5).CONCLUSION:The five compounds were obtained for the frist time from the stems of Spatholobus suberectus.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of Hedysarum polybotrys.METHOD:Chromatographic methods were used to isolate compounds from H. polybotrys and chemical and spectral methods were used to elucidate the structures of the isolated compounds.RESULT:Five compounds, N,N,N-trimethyl-tropaphone inner salt (hypaphorine) (1), octadecyl-3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-benzeneacrylate (2), 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-dihydroflavanone 5,7-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), 3,4,5-trimethoxy cinnamic acid methy ester (4) and vanillic acid (5), were isolated from the roots of H. polybotrys.CONCLUSION:Compounds 1, 2 and 3 were obtained from this plant for the first time, while compounds 1 and 2 were isolated from Hedysarum for the first time.
Polyhydroxy sterols from soft coral Dendronephthya gigantea from the South China Sea

Abstract:Six sterols named Cholesterol (Ⅰ), Cholesta 5 ene 3β,7β diol (Ⅱ), Cholesta 5,22(E)-dien 3β,7α diol (Ⅲ), 24 methylene-cholesta-5-en 3β, 7α diol (Ⅳ), 24-methyl-cholesta 5,22(E) 3β, 7α diol (Ⅴ), Cholesta-5-ene 3β, 7α diol (Ⅵ), were isolated from the soft coral Dendronephthya gigantea collected from the South China Sea. Their structures were identified by EIMS, 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR analysis and the spectral data were compared with those reported in literatures. The compound Ⅰ～Ⅵ are isolated from the soft coral for the first time, and the NMR data of compounds Ⅱto Ⅵwere concluded fully by extensive 2D NMR spectrum.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of ethanolic extract from herbs of Dicliptera chinensis. METHOD The compounds were separated by silica gel column chromatography, preparation TLC and reverse phase HPLC, their structures were identified by the spectroscopic methods of UV, NMR and MS. RESULT Seven compounds were isolated from ethyl acetate extract. Their structure were identified as octasulphur (1), secoisolariciresinol dimethyl ether diacetate (2), 5-methoxy-4, 4'-di-O-methyl secolariciresinol (3), chinensinaphthol methyl ester (4), loliolide (5), beta-sitosterol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (6) and stigmasterol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (7). CONCLUSION All the compounds except 6 were obtained from the plants of Dicliptera for the first time.

The structures were identified by physical and spectral data. Result: Six compounds were isolated and identified as woodwardic acid (1), ergost-6,22-diene-3beta,5alpha,8alpha-triol (2), apigenin (3), riboflavin (4), 4-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-p-coumaric acid (5), 4-O-beta-D-glucopyranosylcaffeic acid (6). Conclusion: All the compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.

The structures were determined on the basis of spectral analysis. The structures were elucidated as D-mannitol(I), beta-sitosterol(II), succinic acid(III), caffeic acid(IV), protocatechuic aldehyde(V) and daucosterol(VI). Abstract:Objective: To isolate and elucidate the constituents from stem of Chirita longgangensis var. hongyao. Method: The constituents were extracted with methanol and isolated by chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and ODS. The structures were determined by NMR and MS spectral analysis. Result: Seven compounds were identified as 2-hydroxy-7-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone (1), 2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone (tectoquinone) (2), ursolic acid (3), vanillic acid (4), beta-sitosteryl-D-glucoside-6'-palmitate (5), beta-sitosterol (6), daucosterol (7), respectively. Conclusion: Compounds 1, 2, 3 and 5 were isolated for the first time from the family Gesneriaceae, compounds 4 and 6 were isolated for the first time from the genus Chirita, and compound 7 was isolated for the frist time from Chirita longgangensis var.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of Taraxacum mongolicum. Method Repeated column chromatography over silica gel, C-18 and Sephadex LH-20 were used to isolate chemical constitutes and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR including 2D-NMR techniques and by direct comparing spectral data with those reported in literatures. Result Eight compounds were identified as artemetin (1), quercetin (2), luteolin (3), luteolin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), caffeic acid (5), esculetin (6), stigmasterol (7), taraxasteryl acetate (8), respectively. Conclusion Compound 1 was obtained from this genus and compound 6, 8 from this species for the first time. Furthermore, the 13 carbon data of compound 6 from the literature were corrected with 2D-NMR techniques in this paper.

Abstract:To investigate the chemical constituents from Litsea rubescens Lec.var.yunnanensis.Compounds were isolated by silica gel column chromatogra-phy,and purified by recrystallization.Their structures were identified by NMR spectral data and other methods.Four known compounds were isolated from alcohol-extraction from Litsea rubescens Lec.var.yunnanensis.On the basis of physicochemical and spectroscopic analysis,these compounds were identified as triacontanoic acid(Ⅰ),hexacosoic acid(Ⅱ),Daucostenol(Ⅲ),β-sitosterol(Ⅳ).

Abstract:Eight compounds were isolated from EtOAc-soluble fraction of 70% ethanolic extract from the rhizome of Cibotium barometz (L.) J.Sm..On the basis of spectroscopic analysis,they were identified as (24R)-stigmast-4-ene-3-one (1),24-methylenecycloartanol (2),β-sitosterol (3),(3R)-des-O-methyl lasiodiplodin (4),protocatechuic aldehyde (5),onitin (6),alternariol (7),and daucosterol (8).Compounds 1,2,4,and 7 were isolated from the genus Cibotium Kaulf.for the first time.
