Differentiation of Peasant Groups and Their Evaluation on New Rural Endowment Insurance:Based on the Questionnaire Survey from Kong Town in Hubei Province

Abstract:Based on a questionnaire survey from Kong Town in Hubei Province , this paper analyzes peasants ’ evaluation on New Rural Endowment Insurance ( NREI ) using Ordered Logistic Regression Model .The results show that peasants tend to show positive attitudes toward the NREI , especially the peasants who have benefited from it .The regression results show that the influencing factors are different between two benefit groups ’ evaluation on NREI .The influencing factors of peasants ’ evaluation on NREI who could buy NREI are age , physical health , political identity , source of income , income level and cognition on the role of NREI to improve the living standards of elderly poverty .The influencing factors of peasants ’ evaluation on NREI who have benefited from NREI are physical health , resident manner , children filial piety or not , degree of understanding NREI, cognition on the gap between NREI benefits and the basic living need of local elderly and cognition on the role of NREI to improve living standards of elderly poverty .The influence direction of physical health of different benefit groups is opposite .
