Abstract:Objective:To investigate the operating personnel’s cognition of suture line. Methods:The operating nurses and surgical doctors form 3 Grade III Level A hospitals were investigated. Results:The average score of nurses was 16.73±2.94 and that of doctors was 19.13±3.55. The doctors had higher score than nurses (t =4.081, P0.01). The doctors had higher cognition in the category, type (z=-4.520, P0.001) and usage(z=-2.447, P0.05) of suture lines than nurses. 41.05% nurses obtained knowledge of suture line from colleagues, and 50.00% doctors obtained knowledge of suture line from suture line factories. Conclusion:The suture line cognition of nurses and doctors was not high, it was more necessary to train nurses about the category, type and usage of suture line.
