Abstract:In this paper, first we proposed a method of attribute reduction based on rough set under fuzzy equivalent relation. We computed the similarity of cases with the fuzzy equivalent relation, reduced the attributes by the same fuzzy equivalent partitions based on rough set, and then gave a method of computing the weights of the attributes. Comparing with the traditional method of attribute reduction based on rough set, more information of the primary data is held, and more accuracy of the attribute reduction is enhanced by our method.

Abstract:In T茂戮驴fuzzy rough sets a fuzzy T茂戮驴similarity relation is employed to describe the similar degree between two objects and to construct lower and upper approximations for arbitrary fuzzy sets. The existing researches on T茂戮驴fuzzy rough sets mainly concentrate on constructive and axiomatic approaches of lower and upper approximation operators. In this paper we define attribute reduction based on T茂戮驴fuzzy rough sets. The structure of proposed attribute reduction is investigated in detail by the approach of discernibility matrix. At last an example is proposed to illustrate our idea in this paper.

Abstract:Fuzzy rough set is a generalization of crisp rough set to deal with data sets with real value attributes. A primary use of fuzzy rough set theory is to perform attribute reduction for decision systems with numerical conditional attribute values and crisp (symbolic) decision attributes. In this paper we define inconsistent fuzzy decision system and their reductions, and develop discernibility matrix-based algorithms to find reducts. Finally, two heuristic algorithms are developed and comparison study is provided with the existing algorithms of attribute reduction with fuzzy rough sets. The proposed method in this paper can deal with decision systems with numerical conditional attribute values and fuzzy decision attributes rather than crisp ones. Experimental results imply that our algorithm of attribute reduction with general fuzzy rough sets is feasible and valid.

Abstract:An improved heuristic algorithm of attribute reduction in rough set theory is presented.It has been proved to be a NP-hard problem to search for the minimum attribute set.People usually adopt heuristic algorithm to find approximately optimum solution,but there may exit attribute redundance in the obtained attribute reduction.Considering the non-soundness of current heuristic algorithms,with the help of dependence and significance of attribute in Rough Sets,the heuristic information is constructed,and the process of the second reduction is added to the algorithm in order to eliminate the attribute redundance,then an improved heuristic algorithm is obtained.The correctness and effectiveness of the improved algorithm was demonstrated by an experiment.

Abstract:Rough set is a valid mathematical theory developed in recent years, which has the ability to deal with imprecise and uncertain information. It has been proven that computing all the reductions and the minimal reduction of information system is a NP-hard problem. In this paper, a coding and sorting method is proposed to reduce the computational complexity of indiscernibility relation and positive region computation, and so attribute reduction can be obtained efficiently. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm computed attribute reduction efficiently.

Abstract:Attribute reduction of an information system with real value attributes is one of the research hot spots in rough set theory.Instead of an equivalence relation with discretization of real values,a kind of similarity relation and its adaptive form based on fuzzy c-means clustering are proposed.A rough set model based on the similarity relation is presented which has good performance in dealing with noisy data.A kind of importance degree derives from the defined positive region and nonpositive one,the attribute reduction of an information system is performed.Comparative experiments with existing method show that the proposed method is effective,stable and reasonable.

Abstract:Rough sets theory is an effective mathematical tool dealing with vagueness and uncertainty. It has been applied in a variety of fields such as data mining, pattern recognition or process control. It is very important to compute the attribute reduction in real applications of rough set theory. To compute the optimal attribute reduction is NP-hard. Many heuristic attribute reduction algorithms with polynomial-time complexity have been proposed. However, most of them are incomplete for the definition of attribute reduction given by Z. Pawlak. and few of them are able to fully use the expert experience. In this paper, a complete attribute reduction algorithm based on the principle of discernibility matrix is given, which can make full use of the expert experience by defining a partial ordering relation on the set of condition attributes. The completeness of the algorithm is proved. The algorithm includes a random operation leading to different reductions may be obtained by repeating executing. Abstract:The fuzzy-rough set based attribute reduction, which can get better reducts than the crisp rough set approach, has been paid more attention recently. Fuzzification is a step of data preprocess which was studied less in the application of fuzzy-rough set. In this paper, a simple fuzzification method deriving fuzzy discretization from K most important cuts in the application of feature selection is proposed. A comparative experiment between the proposed fuzzification method and a general fuzzy c-means based method is constructed on the UCI machine learning data repository. The experimental results show the obtained reducts using the proposed method can get higher classification accuracies and less number of selected attributes.

Abstract:Attribute reduction with rough sets aims to delete superfluous condition attributes from a decision system by considering the inconsistency between condition attributes and the decision labels. However, heterogeneous condition attributes including symbolic and real-valued ones always coexist for most decision systems and different types of attributes induce different kinds of granular structures. The existing rough set models do not have explicit mechanisms to address different kinds of granular structures reasonably and effectively. In this paper, we aim to perform attribute reduction for decision systems with symbolic and real-valued condition attributes by composing classical rough set and fuzzy rough set models. We first define a discernibility relation for every symbolic and real-valued condition attribute to characterize its discernible ability related to the decision labels. With these discernibility relations, we can develop a dependence function to measure the inconsistency between heterogeneous condition attributes and decision labels, and attribute reduction aims to keep this dependence function with a small perturbation. The proposed attribute reduction deals with heterogeneous condition attributes from the viewpoint of discernible ability and can consider the mutual effects between two types of attributes without preprocessing into single-typed ones. An algorithm to find reducts is developed and experiments are performed to demonstrate that the proposed idea is effective.

Abstract:Based on Jelonek's algorithm and approximation quality for a single attribute, an improved reduction algorithm of attributes is given in this paper. Numerical experiments show that this algorithm, obtaining the same reduction as Jelonek's algorithm , requires less computational effort than the latter, thus improving the efficiency of attribute reduction.

Abstract:Attributes reduction is one of the key problems in rough set theory.The attributes reduction of decision table is to simplify the condition attributes of the decision table,after the reduction of the decision table,it has the same function with the simplification of the former,but it has less condition attributes.This paper is based on the variable precision rough set model,By introducing some concepts of such as the reduction of decision table of variable precision rough set model and core,a new method for attributes reduction is proposed. This method is mainly by removing the redundant condition attributes of the main knowledge representation system, so as to achieve the reduction of the whole knowledge expression system, and calculated the reduction of the relative core.The method is not only has the accuracy of attributes reduction been guaranteed,but also its flexibility has been increased.

Abstract:The concept of a consistent approximation representation space is introduced. Many types of information systems can be treated and unified as consistent approximation representation spaces. At the same time, under the framework of this space, the judgment theorem for determining consistent attribute set is established, from which we can obtain the approach to attribute reductions in information systems. Abstract:Rough set theory can effectively deal with incomplete data which is imprecise or inconsistent.It can analyze the data to dig implicit information and reveal the potential law.In rough set theory,attribute reduction is an important research subject.The widespread presence of the incomplete information system limit the application of classical rough set theory.Introduces a new entropy based on the rough fuzzy metrics.On this basis,an attribute reduction algorithm based on rough fuzzy degree for incomplete information systems is proposed.The simulation experiment illustrates the effectiveness of algorithm and a better time for superiority.

Abstract:Attribute reduction is one of the key problems in the knowledge discovery. Based on the rough set theory, a new operator is constructed to effectively achieve the minimal relative reduction of attribute in the decision table. Regarding the significance of attributes defined from the viewpoint of information theory as heuristic information and applying the breadth-first search strategy, a new heuristic algorithm for reduction of attribute is proposed. Acquiring optimal relative reduction by descending approach to core of attribute from original set of conditional attribute and combining with operator. Finally, the experimental results show that this algorithm was effective in attributes reduction of decision tables.
