Effect of Anti-Inflammatory and Analgesia Activities of Aqueous Extracts of Miao Medicine Oxalis corniculata L.

Abstract:[ Abstract]Objective:To investigate anti-inflammatory and analgesia effects of aqueous extracts of Miao medicine Oxalis corniculata L( CJCS). Methods:Sixty Kunming mice of clean grade were ran-domly divided into control group,model group,positive control group and low-dose group,middle-dose group,high-dose group of CJCS,10 mice per group. Among these groups,glacial acetic acid was adopted to induce and construct celiac capillary permeability model. Another fifty mice were randomly divided into model group,positive control group and low-dose group,middle-dose group,high-dose group of CJCS,10 mice per group. Among these groups,glacial acetic acid was adopted to induce and construct writhing model. Control group and model group was orally administered with equal volume of physiological saline,and positive group was orally administered with 0. 005 mg/g of aspirin. Low-dose group,middle-dose group and high-dose group was orally administered with 0. 07 mg/g,0. 14 mg/g and 0. 21 mg/g of CJCS,respectively. All groups received continuous oral administration of 3 d,and <br> the mice were sacrificed 1 hour after the last intragastric administration of glacial acetic acid for celiac capillary permeability model. The absorbance value of celiac washing liquid of sacrificed mice was de-tected by UV spectrophotometer to determine changes in celiac capillary permeability. For the writhing model,the writhing times within 10 min were recorded and writhing inhibition rates were calculated. DPPH assay was adopted to preliminarily evaluate the free radical scavenging activities of aqueous ex-tracts of CJCS. Results:The absorbance value of celiac washing liquid of middle-dose group and high-dose group were significantly lower than that of model group,(P<0. 01 and P<0. 001). The writhing times within 10 min of middle-dose group and high-dose group were significantly lower than that of model group( P<0 . 001 ). The results suggested that middle-dose group and high-dose group of CJCS could remarkable suppressed the increase of peritoneal capillary permeability induced by acetic acid. 1~100 mg/L concentration of CJCS could show strong free radical scavenging activity in vitro. Conclu-sion:CJCS aqueous extracts have anti-inflammatory and analgesia effects.
