Spatio-temporal expression of Cav1.2 in developing rat molar

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of Cav1.2 in developing rat molar.Methods Tooth germ paraffin sections were made and stained using immunohistochemical technique to examine the expression of Cav1.2 at different stages in developing rat molar.Results Weak staining of Cav1.2 in the oral epithelium and inner enamel epithelium in the bud and cap stage and positive staining in the inner emamel epithelium and odontoblasts in the bell stage were detected,while enhanced staining in odontoblasts could be seen in the process of dentin mineralization.conclusion The expression of Cav1.2 during the tooth germ development possess spatio-temporal character.The results suggest that Cav1.2 may contribute to the development of tooth germ and differentiation of the cells.
