Abstract:The rhyolites of the Changpu Formation of the Yutian group in the Longnan-Xunwu area of Southern Jianxi, which were formed in Middle Jurassic Epoch with Rb-Sr isochron age 164.8Ma similar to 174.9Ma, were the acidic end-member of bimodal volcanic rock association and attributed to weakly peralunimous (ACNK = 1.04 in average) and calc-alkaline rock series(sigma = 1.90). The total REE is higher (278.9mug/g in average), LREE is obviously enriched ( average LREE/HREE = 7.94) and the Eu have an intermediate depletion (deltaEu = 0.41 in average). Their trace elements show enrichment of Rb, Ba, Th, U, Zr, Pb and Y, but depletion of Sr, Nb. The Pb-Nd-Sr isotopes of rhyolites are characterized by anomalous Ph isotopes enriched in radiogenic lead ( (Pb-206/Pb-204) t = 17.89 similar to 18.58, (Pb-207/Pb-204) t = 15.58 similar to 15.70, (Pb-208/Pb-204) t = 37.94 similar to 38.82), lower epsilon(Nd) (t) (-7.44 similar to -11.9) and higher (Sr-87/Sr-86) i (0.71128 similar to 0.71228). The results from comparative study on the trace elements of Ganan rhyolites by means of fuzzy cluster analysis in combination with spidergram and the Pb-Nd-Sr isotopic features suggest geochemical evidences for the upper crustal origin. The Ganan rhyolite may be directly derived from partial melting of upper crust in high level magma chamber by underplating of quartz tholeiite magma.
