Abstract:Based on summarizing and analyzing the development,characteristics and problems of the existing architecture of manufacturing execution system(MES),a functional architecture of MES was proposed,which was oriented to manufacturing enterprises in China.By taking the production management model as the core,the proposed functional architecture defined the main functions of the production management model and the information flows transferring between these functions.Furthermore,maintenance management,quality management and inventory management, which would affect the production,were provided as the main functional models,and the information exchanges between them and production management were also presented.Additionally,in order to ensure scalability of this functional architecture,other functional models affecting the production were also defined.Finally,an application of the functional architecture to guide the design and establishment of the MES software oriented to the process industry of China was introduced to demonstrate the practicability and completeness.

Abstract:According to the analysis of manufacturing and service fusion studies at home and abroad,the concepts of service-oriented manufacturing,modern manufacturing service,and general product were defined.Connotations of manufacturing and service fusion were analyzed respectively.The technology framework of manufacturing and service fusion was given,the business and technical relationships among production service,product service system and service-oriented manufacturing were also determined.Important theories about manufacturing service and service-oriented manufacturing were discussed respectively,and the key technologies of manufacturing and service fusion were put forward,including design and development technology,manufacturing technology,quality inspection technology of re-manufacturing and service technology.

Abstract:The design and the manufacturing configuration are important for the supply chain to ship the successful new product to market. In order to improve the manufacturing configuration to achieve the higher quality, lower cost and on time delivery before design readiness, the structured approach is presented in this research from the perspective of the SCM. The DFX with CE and the One-time-pass-rate with VSM are implemented to improve the manufacturing configuration. The key statistical techniques including FMEA and SPC are utilized. The case study on company of power meter demonstrates that the structured approach can help to improve 28% of the performance on manufacturing configuration before design readiness.

Abstract:As the profits of manufacturing enterprises come under ever increasing pressure, the transformation of the enterprise development mode becomes urgent. The implementation of modern manufacturing services (MMS) helps to improve an enterprise's profits and enhance its competitiveness and has become one of the best ways to transform and upgrade enterprises. The implementation of MMS needs a methodology to guide evaluation of an enterprise's current service development phase and level. In this article, first a universal Enterprise Manufacturing Service Maturity Model (EMSMM) was proposed, which contains four service phases and two service levels. Second, a building methodology for the EMSMM for a specific industry was put forward. Third, an evaluation methodology for enterprise MMS phases and levels was provided. Finally, the adoption of these methods by a Chinese manufacturing enterprise was described. The results show that the EMSMM can provide effective scientific decision-making for an enterprise's current service development phase and level.

Abstract:PLM. (Product Lifecycle Management, PLM) is a strategic business approach to enable product innovation. PLM system is a complicated aggregation by technology and application. Generally, a PLM system is the aggregation of one or several kernel functions and a view of PLM solution. In order to implement a PLM system, a global product information model was proposed. It comprises of three parts, namely product development process model, master product model and product application model. A model transfer algorithm that achieves the information from master product model to product application model was presented as well. Then a framework of PLM system that supports industry solution was put forward, and its integration mode was discussed. By adopting this PLM system, and through continuing improvement, the productivity and hence profitability of enterprises is increased. It is anticipated that this approach to product information modelling and system integration framework will be an important,contribution towards PLM system implementation.

Abstract:The manufacturing sector of OEM enterprises in China needs the support of modern producer services,and it is in urgent need of inputting advanced elements to build a high level of competence for the high-end development.As senior elements of the advanced manufacturing investment,modern producer services extend the part of the global value chain(GVC) in the domestic market.So,the formation of advanced manufacturing cluster around the service area of modern production is contributing to forming a relatively complete system of self-vale system,which generates the value of rights by taking advantage of the competing relationship between the organizations,division of labor and complementary capacities.The linkage effects of the joint development between the modern production service areas and the advanced manufacturing clusters are effective driving force to help the local businesses relying on the native value chain(NVC) to achieve the upgrading in the global value chain(GVC).

Abstract:According to the analysis of modern manufacturing services business model at home and abroad,this paper gave the difference on manufacturing services development level between China and developed countries,and pointed out the deficiencies of the development model and strategy put forward by the scholars.Then,every stage＇s services of the whole life cycle of the product were given,and the classifications of the manufacturing service were sum up according to the service providing object and service phase respectively.Thirdly,this paper mainly summarized the basic mode of modern manufacturing services.The business model of producer service oriented manufacturing included regional cluster model,product service provider model,decentralized small and medium-sized enterprise dynamic alliance service mode and large enterprise service model,and the corresponding system structure and typical cases were given respectively.The business model of product service oriented manufacturing included manufacturers extension service mode,user self-service mode,product service provider mode and integrated operation service mode,and the corresponding system structure and typical cases were given respectively.Finally,based on the current research,analysis and model investigation,the development strategies of China＇s manufacturing services were put forward,which will help to speed up the development of China＇s manufacturing services.

Abstract:To improve customers satisfaction with the development and implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), an incremental-convergent method was brought forward. Firstly, the process model of the method was established and formalized. The core of the method, Integrated Product Meta-Model (IPMM) was given, and the organization framework of the information was defined with the IPMM. Moreover, the IPMM embodied both the business feature and the software system characteristics for the convergence to unify these two aspects of IPMM. The structure which was composed of the UML meta-model, PLM meta-model, IPMM and Integrated Product Model (IPM) was established. Finally, this method was validated by the development and implementation practice of the PLM system in Shanghai Heavy Machinery Plant Co., Ltd.

Abstract:To provide methodology guidance for enterprises to implement the Modern Manufacturing Services System(MMSS),the implementation connotations and framework of MMSS were analyzed.The proposed framework included modern manufacturing services business,modern manufacturing services organization,modern manufacturing information service system and implementation theories and methods.The implementation methodology for MMSS was proposed,concrete implementation procedures and methods were also provided.The proposed MMSS implementation method was applied in a transformer enterprise.The result showed that the methodology could provide effective scientific decision-making and support.

Abstract:A self-organization model for manufacturing servitization systems was established for manufacturing enterprises providing customers with products and services characterized by complexity, and the intelligent application of manu-facturing servitization was initially realized. The model includes the design of manufacturing servitization, the formation of manufacturing servitization and other self-organization processes. Simultaneously, a scale-free network model for manufacturing service units was constructed to analyze the degree distribution characteristics of in-degree and out-degree of manufacturing service units. In the design of manufacturing servitization, a function-structure-service model for manufacturing servitization systems was built, the product solutions were realized by using axiomatic design method, and the service programs were implemented by digging need of the customers. In the formation of manufacturing servitization, the process of manufacturing servitization systems was generated by applying the manufacturing scale-free network service unit. The effectiveness of the self-organization model for manufacturing servitization systems, and the advantages of the modeling and analysis based on scale-free network were verified through the example of bottle blowing machine system designing and formation.

Abstract:In order to increase productivity, integrated manufacturing as a kind of strategy has become more and more important. A conceptual model of integrated manufacturing was proposed. Focusing on the numerical control machining of customized product, the integrated manufacturing principle for mass customization was discussed and architecture model of an integrated manufacturing system was presented as well. Firstly, the master model and master NC (numerical control) program of customized product were built. Then these manufacturing resources were unified managed in the PDM (product data management) system. Based on these resources, variant design of customized product could be carried out, at the same time NC machining program of customized product could be generated rapidly. Secondly, NC machining program was input into the NC machining tool through a DNC (distributed numerical control) system, and then remote machining and control would be realized. By adopting this integrated manufacturing system, company can implement mass customization production effectively

Abstract:Mass customization poses one of the primary challenges for manufacturing firms seeking to maintain competitiveness by satisfying diverse and ever-changing demands. The purpose of this study is to present a mechanism illustrating how internal cross-functional integration promotes mass customization by leveraging external supply chain partners and emphasizing the contingent role of product characteristics. Using 223 samples collected from multi-sources of manufacturing firms worldwide, regression and bootstrap analyses are applied to test the proposed moderated mediation research model. Our findings reveal that a firm’s capability of cross-functional integration plays an important role in directly promoting its mass customization performance and indirectly doing so through supply chain alignment. Moreover, our findings underscore that this indirect mechanism is more pronounced when products are designed to be highly modular. Based on our findings, manufacturing firms can enhance mass customization more efficiently and effectively by integrating internal cross-functional collaboration and product modularization, thereby fostering alignment within the external supply chain.

Abstract:The on-demand supply mode of cloud manufacturing is significant in enlivening the manufacturing resources over a wide range. However, problems in coupling and contradiction exist among individuation, cost and response time in the on-demand supply of manufacturing cloud service, thus decreasing the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud manufacturing. To decouple this contradiction problem and help users rapidly obtain individuation services at low cost, this paper proposes a two-dimensional (time and space dimensions) optimization mechanism and method for manufacturing cloud service. In the mechanism layer, the user demand decoupling point principle, which is formulated using the customer order decoupling point in traditional physical products, is proposed for describing the optimization direction; and the on-demand supply mode of manufacturing cloud service is divided into four sub-modes, i.e., provide-to-demand, compose-to-demand, engineer -to-demand and research-to-demand; then, a two-dimensional optimization model is established for describing the optimization mechanism among individuation, cost and response time. In the method layer, the decision-making process model for positioning and optimizing UDDP is studied to support the time dimension optimization of moving UDDP backward; and a recursive mapping model of the service topological structure is proposed for supporting the space dimension optimization of the service topological structure. Finally, the proposed model and method are applied to a cloud manufacturing service platform for the mold industry. Two case studies are presented for demonstrating the feasibility and effectiveness of this two-dimensional optimization approach.

Abstract:Through analyzing the multiple concepts of service,the connotation and definition of cloud manufacturing service was discussed.To solve the problem of normalizing expression,organization and cooperative sharing of massive cloud manufacturing service in cloud manufacturing environment,the concept of Bill of Standard manufacturing Service (BOSS) for the product lifecycle services management was proposed,and a standardized service modeling methodology for entire product lifecycle process was put forward based on the ontology and BOSS structure.The BOSS structure for the typical automotive product was constructed,and the standard modeling template for BOSS'service node was established based on manufacturing service meta-model.A preliminary application of BOSS methodology was developed on the cloud manufacturing prototype platform,and its feasibility and effectiveness were demonstrated.

Abstract:Networked manufacturing enterprises need a wider support from external manufacturing resources. This paper proposes a promising service to use web-based extended manufacturing resources for product development. The system architecture and enabling techniques are presented. Manufacturing resources on the web are achieved through focused crawling and semantic web technologies. These resources are further utilized through web-based resource repositories such as part libraries. The major modules of web-based manufacturing resource service are encapsulated with web services. A case study of mould product development is presented, which promotes the networked collaborative design and manufacturing processes. Some preliminary results indicate the feasibility and scalability of web-based manufacturing resource services for networked manufacturing.

Abstract:To guide the process of manufacturing services, the contents as well as the four basic elements of manufacturing and the natures as well as the characteristics of service were analyzed. The way and the key point of manufacturing services were discussed according to the four basic elements of manufacturing. On this basis, Service Maturity Model for Manufacturing（SMa ）was proposed, and the concept of SMa was given. The decisive characteristics of different service maturity level were analyzed, and the pathway of sustainable manufacturing service level growth was described. The service maturity and the future development trend of cloud manufacturing were analyzed, and a service platform architecture which could support diverse service maturity level enterprises running was put forward. The related key technologies were also discussed. A typical case of manufacturing service platform called Smart Service Platform（SSP）based on Bilateral Resources Integration Service（BIR1S）was used to describe the platform on supporting diverse service maturity level enterprises running.
Construction of Quality-Driven Product Model Based on Total Life Cycle

Abstract:To give scientific props for decisions on the quality of products and to improve the integral quality of products, taking mechanical product quality characteristic as the object of study, the dynamic characteristic of product quality in total life cycle is analyzed and the quality characteristic is divided into the technical quality characteristic and the descriptive quality characteristic from the measurable viewpoint. The scope and the weighting of the quality characteristic are determined with quality function deployment, extension analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and combinatorial weighted method. Then the two kinds of quality characteristics at various life cycle stages are analyzed and calculated by applying quality tools such as Taguchi quality loss model, "P-E" system, quality-cost model so that the total life cycle-based quality-driven product model is established. Finally, taking numerically-controlled machine tools as an example, the model and method proposed is verified, proving the effectiveness of the model.

Abstract:It's documented the gradual increasing of the percentage of service revenue to total sales and the increasing proportion of profit brought about by service of traditional manufacturing firms. It is the so-called service-enhancement phenomenon. In this paper, we firstly define the product as full product including both the tangible physical part and the intangible service. Then we propose a dynamic game model with complete information. Its equilibrium suggests that service enhancement is the outcome of firm trying to differentiate their full-product by providing differentiated services.We also observed the increasing of both the producer's surplus and the consumer's surplus.
