Determination of chemical constituents of volatile components from Radix Pittospori

Abstract:Objective:To study the chemical constituents of volatile oil from radix pittospori.Method:The chemical compositions of the volatile oil of the plant obtained by steam distillation with hexanewere analyzed by GC-MS e- quipped with an elastic quartz capillary column-SE-30(30 m×0.25 mm×0.25μm).The constituents were i- dentified by their mass spectra.The relative percentage of the oil constituents was calculated from the GC peak are- as.Result:Sixty kinds of chemical constituents in Radix pittospori were separated;of which forty-eight compounds representing 90.87% of the oil were characterized.Relative contents more than 1%,were determined as dodecanal 17.67 %,1-dodecanol 7.49 %,dodecanoic acid 5.64%,tetradccanal 5.37 %,undecane 4.33%,(E)-2-octe- nal 3.25%,2,4-decadienal 2.80% ,2-pentylfuran 2.29%,nonanal 1.74%,α-pinene 1.70% ,undecanal 1.62%,1-decenal 1.41%,acetic acid,dodecylester 1.40%,(E,E)-2,4-decadienal 1.38%.Conclusion: The determination of chemical constituents of essential oil from radix pittospori is helpful for controlling the quantity and further researching of radix pittospori.
