A New Detail Preserving Image Interpolation Method Based on Linear Space Variant Technique

Abstract:A new adaptive image interpolation algorithm is presented,which combines the grayscale prediction basedon bi-directional gradient with the local texture oriented interpolation intensity control technique.In the re-sampling process,the algorithm uses the gradient predictions instead of neighboring sampled values to calculate the grayscale of interpolation points,and adaptively adjusts the interpolation intensity according to the local texture strength of downsampled images,which all result in the improvement of interpolation precision.Compared with traditional interpolation methods,the proposed method yields sharp images with higher PSNR and lower PEE,which are validated by the experimental results.
