Abstract:Presents the crucial techniques of hardware and software designing applied to wireless signal sampling device in electrocardiogram monitoring.This type of device is designed with the functions of sampling,filtering,wireless transmitting,and characterized with portable,low-power,anti-interference,intelligent,etc.The system is controlled by MSP430 singlechip.It filters and amplifies the signal and send data wirelessly.Experiments indicate the system is suitable for continuous monitoring.

Abstract:How to acquire and extract surface electromyography (SEMG) expediently and effectively had been one of the key factors to ap-ply the SEMG. A wireless SEMG acquisition instrument which was battery powered, storable, high accuracy, easy to operate and conve-nient to carry was designed, it solved several problems exist in traditional SEMG acquisition instrument well. The usage of FLASH and CP2102 make the instrument storable and convenient to communicate with PC. The system software was designed running in low power mode, and provides several operate ways. The result of application showed the feasibility of the method described in the paper.

Abstract:For the purpose of better preventing cardiovascular diseases and improving the life quality of human beings,a scheme of an electrocardiogram(ECG)monitoring system based on wireless system-on-chip technology is presented in this paper.Firstly,the hardware design of the ECG signal sampler and the base station is shown in detail,including the design of the amplification circuit and the choice of the MCU-wireless system-on-chip package.Secondly,the wireless communication protocol between the ECG signal sampler and the base station is determined,based upon which the software for the ECG signal sampler is developed.Thirdly,the initialization and communication protocols between the base station and the remote monitoring center are determined,based upon which applications programs are developed.Lastly,the remote monitoring center is described.With the integration of wireless system-on-chip technique,wireless communication technique,embedded system technique and internet technique,the system finally fulfill the goal of remote ECG monitoring.

Abstract:In this paper, a smart low-power wearable ECG monitoring and analyzing system which has an advanced architecture and low power consumption has been developed. There is a single channel ECG monitor that removes all loose wires from the system and minimizes the footprint on the user, ECG data can be continuously monitored for up to 14 days without affecting daily life. In addition, Bluetooth low energy (BLE), smartphone APP, analysis software and management platform have been added to the system for remote monitoring and whole process of heart health management. Clinical test to compare our wearable monitor with the Holter recorder are conducted on 108 groups under different ambulatory conditions. The results confirmed that it is equivalent to Holter in the clinical diagnosis of arrhythmia This system can free patients from the short-range monitoring with lead wire entanglement to realize the long-term detection in daily life, early detection and early intervention; more convenient connections between patients and doctors, efficient use of medical resources, remote monitoring to reduce the burden of the medical and health system.
Towards a smart Holter system with high performance analogue front-end and enhanced digital processing

Abstract:Multiple-lead dynamic ECG recorders (Holter) play an important role in the earlier detection of various cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, we present the first several steps towards a 12-lead Holter system with high-performance AFE (Analogue Front-End) and enhanced digital processing. The system incorporates an analogue front-end chip (ADS1298 from TI), which has not yet been widely used in most commercial Holter products. A highly-efficient data management module was designated to handle the data exchange between the ADS1298 and the microprocessor (STM32L151 from ST electronics). Furthermore, the system employs a Field Programmable Gate Array (Spartan-3E from Xilinx) module, on which a dedicated real-time 227-step FIR filter was executed to improve the overall filtering performance, since the ADS1298 has no high-pass filtering capability and only allows limited low-pass filtering. The Spartan-3E FPGA is also capable of offering further on-board computational ability for a smarter Holter. The results indicate that all functional blocks work as intended. In the future, we will conduct clinical trials and compare our system with other state-of-the-arts.

Abstract:Nowadays, Holter data are acquired, stored and analyzed using different formats and software, which causes much inconvenience to physicians in diagnosis and hospitals in Holter data management. In this paper, we accomplish Holter data formats' conversion using a new algorithm. Based on the conversion, we proposed a unified data format for Holter data, whose sampling frequency and sampling precision are settled. Thus, other Holter data could be converted to our unified data format, which is much easier for data sharing and unified Holter data management.

Abstract:Universal Serial Bus (USB) audio Devices was applied extensively in current mobile communication equipment, at the same time the low power consumption and high USB bandwidth must be satisfied, we design audio equipment based on USB2.0 High Speed (HS), adopt the latest USB Link Power Management (LPM) protocol issued by USB organization, use Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as the main controller, USB2.0 HS physical layer interface (PHY) was designed externally, and then the USB audio class 3.0 equipment was realized to play music. System analysis and test results show that the system can transmit based on USB2.0 HS, and the average power consumption is lower than the USB1.1 audio equipment, has solved the demand of the high bandwidth and low power consumption of USB audio device effectively.

Abstract:To satisfy the development of a high-powered Holter system, an efficient scheme with electrocardiograph (ECG) data compression, storage, and transmission, is proposed. An integer-to-integer wavelet transform based ECG data reduction algorithm is presented, where data reduction with high signal fidelity are achieved by introducing a shelter function with thresholds at different scales and a code scheme based on statistics. An address-mapped approach based data storage model is used to improve data storing efficiently. A built-in USB technique is applied to implement high-speed data transmission. The experiment and clinic application show that it can record 24-hour 12-leads ECG at 1000 Hz sample rate, and is competent to record normal ECG, paced-ECG and high-frequency ECG accurately.

Abstract:This paper introduces a kind of pocket blood pressure holter based on handhold personal computer. The measurement of blood pressure is controlled by ultralow power consumption MCU. The system configures interface circuit with handhold personal computer. The BP data can be stored, displayed, analysed and transmitted by handhold personal computer. The measurement parameters can be modified. The hardware is made up of three units: simulation circuit unit, intelligent control unit and interface circuit unit. Every unit structure and its principle are presented. The software of obtaining the BP data and communication with handhold personal computer are also illuminated. The system possesses the characters of portability, intelligence, convenience, high precision, ultralow power consumption and stable capability. It is possible to become an ideal blood pressure monitor in family.

Abstract:As a major indicator of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome(OSAS) in clinical diagnosis, the monitoring of sleep apnea plays an important role in medical treatments of modern society. This paper proposes a portable sleep apnea monitoring system, which is of high-precision and low-power consumption, and capable of performing the long-term monitoring of OSAS patients'multiple physiological parameters in clinical treatments. In the system, the AC modulated detection is adopted, and low amplification ratios are utilized in forestage and a high-resolution AD converter is designed in post-stages. Thus, it is able to acquire, analyze, and process physiological signals in real-time. In addition, ultralow-power chips are used in control system to save the power consumption. The experimental results show that our monitoring system has the strengths of high stability, low-power consumption (peak current <= 90mA), and strong anti-interference ability, which demonstrates the potential in practical applications.

Abstract:In this paper, some results on the low-power SoC design and system implementation for medical applications have been discussed. As some examples, a low power SoC based on an eight-bit CPU core widely used in lots of medical devices is introduced. Software programming includes the development in both SoC-side and PC-side software design. The results show duration of service for these medical devices are more than three years. Diagnosing Diseases through pulse waveforms and EEG signals by an automated system is the basic method to find the diseases and its related information about the human body. A new thresholding function based on SURE optimizing algorithm has been set for optimal threshold value by pulse waveform data. An approach of the combination of Fast ICA and wavelet packet transform algorithm is proposed to process the EEG signals. The Experimental results indicated that the proposed methods can effectively de-noise in pulse and EEG signals, respectively.

Abstract:The analysis of circuit design challenges and considerations for a low-power intelligent system for medical instrument of traditional Chinese medicine applications is given. A lot of important design details need to be considered when designing an analog front end and a signal post-processing circuit to realize recognizing subjects' wrist pulse fluctuation signal and photoplethysmography signal. The data were real-timely transmitted to the mobile devices wirelessly and diagnosis algorithm was integrated in the mobile APP. Experimental results on a system testing board validates the functionality of the proposed system design.

Abstract:A design of the portable heart sound sensor system on the base of heart sounds sensor HKY-06B and the WinCE platform can overcome the shortcomings of traditional heart sound monitoring system that relies on the PC platform and is not conducive to carrying.The design provides the ARM9 platform of the hardware composition of heart sound monitoring system,the high efficiency drive model in HKY-06B is researched with priority.The model can improve the operating efficiency and stability of HKY-06B,which can record,save and upload the data of temperature,pulse,heart rate.The final test shows that the HKY-06B is accurate and stable and meets the requirements of portable heart sound monitoring system.

Abstract:A low-power, wireless, real-time, wearable healthcare system for monitoring bio-potential signals including ECG, EEG and EMG signal is proposed. The system consists of Analog Front End (AFE), Incremental EδADC and Short Range Device (SRD) Transceiver. All the ICs are implemented in 0.35μm CMOS technology and integrated on the printed circuit board (PCB). The AFE and the Incremental E/δADC consume less than 100μW and can be configured to various gains, bandwidths and sampling rates for best energy efficiency when capturing different ExG signals. Lithium-battery provides power for the system. Integrating with Huahong MCU, the system is capable of restoring the ExG signals at real time on TFTLCD after wireless communication, storing the ExG information in SD card, and transferring the ExG data to PC for analyzing it in MATLAB.

Abstract:A wireless ECG monitoring system suitable for the usage of athlete training and evaluation is proposed, which contains multiple client-side wireless ECG acquisition sub-systems based on MSP430, a central monitoring sub-system based on ARM and ECG analysis software on PC. The whole monitoring system constitutes a wireless sensor network with nRF905 wireless transceivers. The design of client-side system is simplified to the greatest extent to fit for the requirement of athlete training, which has the advantages of miniaturization, low power consumption, anti-interference and convenience for use. The central monitoring system is capable of real-time display, storing ECG data from multiple client-side systems, basic data analysis and warning signal promoting to monitor athletes' physical status during training. ECG data can also be uploaded to PC to perform sophisticated analyses. In addition to conventional ECG analyses, the analysis system of heart rate variability is specially designed for the functional evaluation of autonomous neural system.
