Abstract:•HCF is filled with PDMS by capillary effect, to form an air microbubble cavity.•As far as we know, this is the first time that PDMS is applied to fill the hollow core fiber.•The sensor combines two advantages of the large FSR (thick FPI) and the high resolution (thin FPI).•Temperature sensitivity is three orders larger than the conventional all-fiber FP sensor.
