Abstract:A sustainable and green one-arrow-two-hawks strategy is developed to cyclically prepare nitrogen-doped carbon materials from egg yolk. Firstly, nitrogen-doped fluorescent carbon dots (N-CDs) are obtained from the supernatant product via hydrothermal reaction. The resulted N-CDs show excellent water solubility and desired photoluminescence properties with the relative quantumyield (QY) of about 35%. A bulk fluorescent nanocomposite fabricated by using the prepared N-CDs exhibits excellent processibility, showing its potential applications in a wide range of fields. The bottom product via hydrothermal reaction is used as lithium-ion batteries anodes after carbonization, exhibiting desired electrochemical performances such as the capacity of 711.6mA h g(-1) after 100 cycles at 100mA g(-1). Moreover, the bottom product can be reused as the carbon source for the next round synthesis of N-CDs. N-CDs obtained from each round still exhibit a strong blue emission under UV illumination (365 nm) with averaged relative QY of about 26%. To the best of our knowledge, the strategy to obtain N-CDs with high relative QY through cycle hydrothermal reaction is seldom reported, which is significant to improve the utilization of original materials and decrease the cost of synthesis.
