Abstract:Frequency diverse array (FDA) is a kind of radar array who has an additional linear frequency increment across the array elements. Different from the conventional phased array whose steering beam is fixed at a certain angle for all ranges, FDA transmits range-dependent beampattern which contains both the angle and range information, making it resistant to point interference. This paper employs the FDA technique into the stripmap SAR system to implement microwave imaging. Moreover, besides the advantage of FDA, the FDA-SAR system owns a range resolution improvement over the conventional SAR imaging system.
