Abstract:A novel polymer-supported porphyrinatoiron Poly-Fe(ATPP)Cl was synthesized by condensation between mono-amino substituted porphyrinatoiron Fe(ATPP)Cl and poly(acrylonitrile-co-acryl acid).As a model system of cytochrome P-450,O_2-ascorbicacid-Poly-Fe(ATPP)Cl was applied to the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane in mild condition to afford cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone.It was found that the oxidation reaction mainly dependents on the reaction time and the catalyst composition,including the content of ascorbic acid and axial base.The recycling of Poly-Fe(ATPP)Cl was also investigated.

Abstract:Due to the unique microstructure and superior catalytic properties, organic-inorganic hybrid materials attract extensive attention. Herein, we report a facile coprecipitation method for the fabrication of metalloporphyrin-metal phosphate salt hybrid spheres, and the cycloaddition of carbon dioxide with epoxides is employed as probe reaction to evaluate the catalytic performance of our as-synthesized catalysts. The hybrid spheres composed of meso-tetra-(4-N-pyridyl) zinc porphyrin (ZnTPyP)-magnesium phosphate exhibited superior catalytic performance, and the conversion was much higher than that of individual ZnTPyP and magnesium phosphate, probably because of the acid-base synergistic effect. Meanwhile, the spheres showed excellent stability during the circulation experiments as well as compatibility with a wide scope of substrates. This work provides a valuable approach for the preparation of novel and efficient heterogeneous catalytic composites.

Abstract:We have successfully synthesized a porphyrin based porous organic polymer (POP-TPP) from free-radical polymerization of tetrastyrylporphyrin monomer under solvothermal conditions. Besides high surface area (1200 m(2)/g) and high thermal stability, the obtained polymer features open metal chelating sites, and thus the catalytic activities of metalloporphyrins can be reasonably adjusted by introducing various metal ions. After metalation with Co3+, Zn2+, and Mg2+, the Co/POP-TPP, Zn/POP-TPP, and Mg/POP-TPP as heterogeneous catalysts are very active for cycloaddition of epoxides with CO2 to cyclic carbonates at ambient conditions with n-Bu4NBr as a nucleophilic additive. Particularly, under the relatively low CO2 concentration (15% in volume), the activity of heterogeneous Co/POP-TPP catalyst is even higher than that of the corresponding homogeneous Co/TPP catalyst. More importantly, there is no activity loss even if the Co/POP-TPP is recycled for 18 times. The excellent catalytic activity and superior recyclability of the obtained catalysts indicate that the porphyrin based porous organic polymer is a promising candidate for construction of efficient heterogeneous catalysts in the future. Abstract:A practically applicable strategy is developed to rationally immobilize easily accessed and highly dispersed redox-active metal oxides into porous metal silica (PMS) materials templated and functionalized by porous metal-ligand moieties. On the basis of this strategy, the highly active porous catalyst PMS-1 is successfully targeted for aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane with conversion up to 14.6%, which is much superior to the current industrially adopted catalysts (less than 4% cyclohexane conversion) that use harsh conditions. This promising approach to explore highly active heterogeneous catalysts for inert C-H bond activation should lead to the further discovery of numerous industrially useful catalysts for the oxidation of inert hydrocarbon raw materials.

Abstract:Three types of novel silica-metalloporphyrins hybrid materials, Si-S-APTCPPFe, Si-S-APTCPPMn and Si-S-APTCPPCo, were prepared at room temperature by sol–gel method involving a thiol-ene polymerization reaction of 5-(4-allyloxy)phenyl-10,15,20-tri(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrin (APTCPP) with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS). The hybrid materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, FT–IR, UV–Vis and TG, and were investigated as catalysts for the aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane. It is found that these hybrid materials are more efficient catalysts than the analogous non-supported metalloporphyrins for cyclohexane hydroxylation in metalloporphyrin–O2–ascrobate system and the metal ion in the porphyrins significantly affected the catalytic efficiencies of these hybrid materials.

Abstract:The development of efficient catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial for a number of emerging technologies, to counter energy and environment crises. Herein, we report an alkyne metathesis polymerization protocol to synthesize a conjugated microporous metalloporphyrin-based framework containing interconnected ORR catalytic centers. A simple composite of the framework and carbon black shows excellent ORR electrocatalytic activity and specificity through a four-electron reduction mechanism under both acidic and alkaline conditions. The pyrolysis of the catalyst, which is commonly involved in the preparation of ORR catalytic systems, is not necessary. Compared to monomeric metalloporphyrins, the framework shows enhanced ORR catalytic activity, presumably due to the porous and conjugated nature of the framework structure, which allows better exposure of the catalytically active sites, and efficient electron/mass transport. More importantly, the composite electrocatalyst exhibits superior durability and methanol tolerance over commercial Pt/C and metalloporphyrin monomers. Given the highly structural tunability of conjugated microporous polymers, it is conceivable that such a non-pyrolytic approach could enable the systematic exploration of the structure-activity relationship of organic framework-based ORR catalysts and eventually lead to the development of cost-effective replacements for Pt/C.

Abstract:An efficient catalyst system based on a Pd-metalated porous organic polymer bearing phenanthroline ligands was designed and synthesized. This catalyst was applied to various C–C bond-forming reactions, including the Suzuki, Heck and Sonogashira couplings, and afforded the corresponding products while exhibiting excellent activities and selectivities. More importantly, this catalyst can be readily recycled. These features show that such catalysts have significant potential applications in the future.

Abstract:Porous organic frameworks (POFs) catalysts with a combination of the well-developed porosity and highly dispersed of active sites hold promise for boosting catalyst activity and selectivity. Among their many synthetic methods, one-step knitting strategies have gained superiority and potential for development. Here, two copper porphyrin based microporous polymers (SC-Cu and FC-Cu) were directly synthesized through Scholl coupling reaction and Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction respectively, which possess high surface area and efficient catalytic performance for styrene oxidation. Moreover, the hierarchical pores of SC-Cu gave it a unique catalytic performance with various olefins with excellent conversion rate. The insight achieved by this systematic analysis will contribute to the rational design of other POFs catalysts and widening extent of applications.

Abstract:A simple strategy to rationally immobilize metalloporphyrin sites into porous mixed-metal-organic framework (M'MOF) materials by a metalloligand approach has been developed to mimic cytochrome P450 monooxygenases in a biological system. The synthesized porous M'MOF of [Zn2 (MnOH-TCPP)(DPNI)]⋅0.5 DMF⋅EtOH⋅5.5 H2 O (CZJ-1; CZJ=Chemistry Department of Zhejiang University; TCPP=tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin); DPNI=N,N'-di(4-pyridyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxydiimide) has the type of doubly interpenetrated cubic α-Po topology in which the basic Zn2 (COO)4 paddle-wheel clusters are bridged by metalloporphyrin to form two-dimensional sheets that are further bridged by the organic pillar linker DPNI to form a three-dimensional porous structure. The porosity of CZJ-1 has been established by both crystallographic studies and gas-sorption isotherms. CZJ-1 exhibits significantly high catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane with conversion of 94 % to the mixture of cyclohexanone (K) and cyclohexanol (A) (so-called K-A oil) at room temperature. We also provided solid experimental evidence to verify the catalytic reaction that occurred in the pores of the M'MOF catalyst.

Abstract:Through a new synthetic strategy, metalloporphyrins (M = Fe(III), Mn(III) or Co(II)) were covalently immobilized on styrene-methylacrylic acid copolymer microspheres. These copolymer-immobilized metalloporphyrins were found to be more efficient catalysts than the analogous non-supported metalloporphyrins for cyclohexane hydroxylation in metalloporphyrin–O 2 –ascrobate mixtures. The catalytic activities of the immobilized catalysts follow the order Fe>Mn>Co.

Abstract:Under kinetic guidance, the stable metal-organic framework PCN-224 was synthesized and used as the parent MOF to embed Mn(3+)to form PCN-224(Mn). A molecule with two-linked carboxyl groups and fluorine-containing groups, which named 2,2 '-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4,4 '-diphenyl phthalate (H2L), was also designed and synthesized. The PCN-224(Mn) was then modified by introducing the H2L into its structure, forming a new hydrophobic porphyrinic MOF of PCN-224(Mn)-H2L. The catalytic oxidation performance of PCN-224(Mn)-H2L to cyclohexane was investigated. It was found that the hydrophobicity and stability of PCN-224(Mn)-H2L was improved markedly, and it had excellent catalytic performance with a selectivity to KA (mixture of cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol) of 90 %, a cyclohexane conversion rate of 51.3 % under mild reaction conditions, which far superior to that of PCN-224(Mn) and the homogeneous metalloporphyrin catalysts. The catalyst remained stable after several repeated experiments.

The new microporous organic polymer possesses a high BET surface area, large pore volume, good stability and acts as a highly efficient robust recyclable heterogeneous catalyst towards carbon-carbon coupling reactions with low catalyst loading.

Abstract:A zinc(II)porphyrin-based ion porous organic polymer (ZnTPyPBr4-iPOP) is successfully synthesized from newly designed pyridinium-functionalized cationic Zn-porphyrin monomer (ZnTPyPBr4) by free radical self-polymerization, and is employed as an efficient bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst for CO2 cycloaddition reaction with epoxides. The ZnTPyPBr4-iPOP exhibits excellent catalytic performance and good substrate expansion in CO2 cycloaddition reaction under solvent-free and cocatalyst-free conditions with a TOF as high as 15,500 h(-1) for the cycloaddition of CO2 and epichlorohydrin. The synergistic effect of zinc(II)porphyrin as the Lewis acidic site and the Br- anion as the nucleophile in ZnTPyPBr4-iPOP responds to the high catalytic activity. Moreover, ZnTPyPBr4-iPOP can easily be recovered and reused at least seven times without the loss of activity. This work provides a valuable approach for the synthesis of novel and efficient heterogeneous catalyst for CO2 cycloaddition.

Abstract:Direct C-H bond activation of heterocycles as a step-economical and environmentally friendly approach to build the heterobiaryls motifs is highly attractive, but it still has a challenge to design and prepare a cheap and regioselective heterogeneous catalyst. To tackle this challenge, we have introduced Ni species into a porous phenanthroline-based organic polymer donated as POP-Phen@Ni. This heterogeneous catalyst shows excellent catalytic performances in regioselective C-H activation of heterocycles, even better than those of the corresponding homogenous catalyst. H/D exchange experiments show that the lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (LiHMDS), a base added in the reaction, play a very important role during the reaction processes. We believe that this heterogeneous catalyst would open a new door for design of heterogeneous catalysts to efficiently catalyze the regioselective C-H activation of heterocycles.
