Abstract:Dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene (DTT) derivative contains three annulated thiophene rings, which have attracted great attention in the field of materials due to its planar and conjugated molecular, structural rigidity, and increased solubility. Herein, the one-step modular construction of a series of structurally well-defined 2,6-disubstituted dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophenes (2,6-DTT) involves Pd/Cu(I)-catalyzed Sonogashira coupling and LiNH2-mediated ring-closing reaction with element sulfur was reported. The method allows the selective and straightforward introduction of different aryl substitution into DTT without otherwise tedious separation and purification processes. The preliminary study of the thermal and photophysical properties demonstrated that the introduction of substituent in phenyl has great impact for the parent molecule, which enable this protocol to synthesis high-performance 2,6-DTT through the different alkynes.

Abstract:A mild and efficient 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO)-catalyzed three-component domino reaction was developed for the synthesis of highly functionalized NH-pyrroles from arylglyoxal monohydrates, enamino esters, and cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in 1,4-dioxane at room temperature for 0.5 hours. Various substituted NH-pyrroles were obtained in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:A mild, efficient, and environmentally benign one-pot synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones by a three-component domino reaction of 4-aminocoumarins, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in refluxing ethanol without the use of catalyst is reported. The present protocol features operational simplicity, short reaction time, good yields, and the absence of aqueous workup procedure and chromatographic separation. [GRAPHICS] .

Abstract:Naphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-dione is an important privileged structural motif which is present in natural products, drugs, and drug candidates. Herein, visible-light-mediated [3+2] cycloaddition reaction for the synthesis of naphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diones and dihydronaphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diones has been developed. Under environmentally friendly conditions, a variety of title compounds were delivered in good yields. This new protocol shows excellent regioselectivity and remarkable functional group tolerance. This approach provides a powerful, green, efficient, and facile means to expand the structural diversity of naphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diones and dihydronaph-tho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diones as promising scaffolds for novel drug discovery.

Abstract:A mild three-component synthetic approach to versatile 2-amino-1,4-dihydropyridines from terminal alkynes, sulfonyl azides, and N-sulfonyl-1-aza-1,3-butadienes was successfully developed and relied on the in situ generation of metalated ynamide intermediates Ib to achieve a formal inverse electron-demand hetero-Diels-Alder reaction. Experimental results suggest that alkali metal cations (Li(+) and Cs(+) ions) might play a critical role to achieve the cycloaddition process.

Abstract:1,4-Diaryl-1,3-butadiynes react with cyclic amines, such as pyrrolidine, piperidine, and morpholine in the presence of a catalytic amount of CuCl to afford amino-substituted naphthalene derivatives with good to high yields. The new catalytic procedure provides an atom-economic, one-pot synthetic method for the synthesis of naphthalene derivatives from easily available 1,4-diaryl-1,3-butadiynes.

Abstract:A three‐component multicomponent approach has been developed at room temperature for the synthesis of 4H‐pyrano[3,2‐c]quinoline‐3‐carbonitriles. The excellent yields of all synthesized products were afforded using methanol as reaction medium in short reaction time using DABCO catalyst. The substrate scope explored well and the process is proficient with good tolerance of functional groups. A three‐component multicomponent approach has been developed at room temperature for the synthesis of 4H‐pyrano[3,2‐c]quinoline‐3‐carbonitriles. The all synthesized products were afforded in short reaction time with excellent yield using BABCO catalyst. The process is proficient with good tolerance of functional groups and well‐explored substrate scope.

Abstract:A facile and efficient one-pot three-component reaction method for the synthesis of thiazine-dicarboxylates is reported. Reaction of an isocyanide and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate with 2-amino-4H-1,3-thiazin-4-one derivatives containing both an acidic proton and an internal nucleophile gave the products in good yields of 76–85%. The reactivity of dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates was further tested in the synthesis of thiazole-pyrimidines where a two-component reaction of 2-aminothiazole with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates was successfully converted to a more efficient three-component reaction of a thiourea, α-haloketone and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD/DEtAD) to give thiazole-pyrimidines in good yields of 70–91%.

Abstract:A three-component reaction between an aromatic aldehyde, an amine, and tert-butyl 2,4-dioxopiperidine-1-carboxylate in EtOH at refluxing temperature gave fused tetracyclic heterocycles in high yields. The amines include 1H-indazol-5-amine, 1H-indazol-6-amine, 1H-indol-5-amine, and 1H-benzo[d]imidazol-5-amine, giving 11-aryl-3H-indazolo[5,4-b][1,6] naphthyridine, 11-aryl-1H-indazolo[6,7-b][1,6]naphthyridine, 11-aryl-3H-indolo[5,4-b][1,6]naph-thyridine, and 11-aryl-3H-imidazo[4',5':3,4]benzo[1,2-b][1,6]naphthyridine derivatives, respectively.

Abstract:A highly diastereoselective intermolecular [3 + 2] annulation of 1,4-dithiane-2,5-diol to maleimides has been developed by using DABCO as a catalyst, which provides a series of highly functionalized biheterocyclic tetrahydrothiophene derivatives containing tetrahydrothiophene and pyrolidine backbones in excellent yields and diastereoselectivities (up to 98% yield and >20:1 d.r.). The cascade Michael-aldol reaction is capable of tolerating organic solvents as well as water.

Abstract:Benzo[f]pyrido[1,2-a]indole-6,11-diones been synthesized in high yields by copper(II)-catalyzed three-component reactions of acyl bromide, I,4-naphthoquinone, and pyridine (or isoquinoline) via sp(2)-C-H difunctionalization of naphthoquinone followed by intramolecular cydization and oxidative aromatization. In an attempt to expand the reaction scope and to help clarify the reaction mechanism, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds are used in place of acyl bromides to take part in this reaction, and the benzo[f]pyrido[1,2-a]indole-6,11-diones derivatives are also obtained in excellent yields.

Abstract:1,6‐Naphthyridones are synthesized from pyridinones and 1,3‐diarylpropenes via DDQ‐mediated oxidative coupling and Cu(OTf)2/bis(tert‐butyl)peroxide (DTBP)‐catalyzed intramolecular cyclization and dehydro‐aromatization. The methodology has the advantages of high atom economy, one‐pot procedure, and moderate to excellent yields. A tandem oxidative reaction of pyridinones and 1,3‐diarylpropenes is disclosed. The reaction undergoes oxidative coupling mediated by 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐1,4‐benzoquinone (DDQ), and subsequent intramolecular cyclization and dehydro‐aromatization catalyzed by Cu(OTf)2/bis(tert‐butyl)peroxide (DTBP). A series of 1,6‐naphthyridones are obtained in moderate to excellent yields.

Abstract:A practical and environmentally benign cascade multicomponent condensation of naphthol/thionaphthol/naphthylamine, formaldehyde, and DBU in water without any catalysts has been achieved. A wide variety of dihydrooxazine, dihydrothiazine, and tetrahydrobenzoquinazoline derivatives N-substituted with a tether bearing a caprolactam unit were afforded in moderate to good yields. The advantages of being cost-effective, metal-free, and easily handled and the use of water as medium made this protocol conform with the principle of green synthesis.

Abstract:Two novel types of elegant three-component reactions of stable isochromenylium tetrafluoroborates (ICTBs) have been developed under mild metal-free conditions in this work. Mechanistically, these reactions are commonly initiated by a [4 +2]-cycloaddition between the non-classical isochromenylium diene and the aldehyde enol, and terminated by the following addition of weak nucleophiles, including nitriles or the second equivalent of aldehydes, in a one-pot fashion. The developed methodologies exhibit excellent chemoselectivity, regioselectivity, and diastereoselectivity, and provide a new convenient access to functionalized dihydronaphthalenes and tetrahydronaphthalenes.

Abstract:A novel Ag-catalyzed radical cascade bicyclization/aromatization of C-linked 1,7-enynes with 1,3-dicarbonyls has been achieved, providing a step- and atom-economy approach for the straightforward construction of 2,3-dihydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalenes, an important structural scaffold existed in biologically active compounds. From this transformation, structurally diverse 2,3-dihydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalenes were obtained in moderate to good yields with excellent regioselectivity. Moreover, the further product derivatizations in facile ways were also exemplified.

Abstract:Abstract A convenient approach for the synthesis of thiazolo[3,4-a]-benzimidazole derivatives has been developed. Three-component reaction of readily available o-phenylenediamines, aryl isothiocyanate, and 4-chloro-3-oxobutanoate in toluene–dichloromethane without any catalyst proceeds under reflux to afford the title compounds in high yields. The structure of the target molecule was confirmed by X-ray diffraction.

Abstract:Abstract The reaction of 2-nitro-3,3′-bi(1-benzothiophene) bearing ester groups at 7- and 7′-positions under the Cadogan cyclization conditions (PPh3, o-C6H4Cl2, refl.) afforded the targeted 10H-di(1-benzothiopheno)[2,3-b:3′,2′-d]pyrrole-1,8- dicarboxylate derivative in a low yield accompanied with a byproduct. On the other hand, the Cadogan reaction of 2-nitro-3,3′-bi(1-benzothiophene) without ester groups did not provide the corresponding pyrrole at all but gave a mixture of thiophene-ring-opening products, from which dibenzothio- phenothiopyrans were isolated. The structures of these ring-opening products were fully characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray analyses and the generation mechanism giving the byproducts was deduced. Pristine 10H-di(1-benzothiopheno)[2,3-b:3′,2′-d]pyrrole could be prepared via another route, namely nitrosation followed by cyclization and reduction.
