Abstract:Nano-enhanced thermotherapy with usage of near-infrared lasers has advantages of having selective optical penetration power, high luminance and single near infrared light directionality, meaning that target tumors or organelles can be selectively destroyed without injuring normal tissues. However, unknown results from single cell thermal surgery have significantly limited the clinical application of this nano-enhanced thermotherapy method. The present study was carried out to comprehensively investigate nanometer materials' reinforcements, like temperature increase condition after the near-infrared laser irradiation of oocytes. Results from experiments in this study have proven that the addition of nanoparticles significantly effect cells' surface temperature using the infrared images. The heating rate of cells was significantly increased when the nanoparticles were put on the cell surface. The degree of thermal effect positively correlated with the nanoparticles' color. This work will in the future improve the selective ablating of target organelles in single cells.
