Abstract:Cu-II-catalysed diazo transfer and Cu-I-catalysed azide-alkyne 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (CuAAC) "click chemistry" were used to synthesis C7N aminocyclitol-derivatised 1,2,3-triazoles. In the course of this work, the -N=N- moiety was transferred onto C7N aminocyclitols such as validamine, valienamine and valiolamine by employing imidazole-1-sulfonyl azide as the diazo transfer reagent with catalysis by Cu-II, Zn-II and Ni-II, in moderate to good yields. The obtained azidocyclitols were coupled with various terminal alkynes under modified Meldal's conditions with good to excellent yields. The stereo- and regiochemistry of the products were confirmed by 2D-NMR (NOESY and HMBC). One-pot syntheses of the corresponding 1,2,3-triazoles, as safer and more efficient procedures, were also investigated and gave moderate to good yields.

Abstract:A gold-catalyzed regioselective [3 + 2] cycloaddition of alkynyl triazenes with 1,2,4-dioxazoles was developed. The triazene group in the products could be replaced to obtain iodo-oxazoles, providing potential transformations to diverse oxazole structures. This protocol features readily available starting materials, mild reaction conditions and scalability. A plausible mechanism involving a nitrene transfer process was proposed.

Abstract:A procedure for the [Cp*CoIII]-catalyzed, 1,2,3-triazole directed C-H amidation of arenes, using dioxazolone as an efficient amidating reagent, has been developed. This reaction provides a step-and atomeconomical protocol for C-N bond formation, releasing carbon dioxide as a single byproduct. Yet a variety of functional groups are well tolerated, obtaining the desired products in moderate to excellent yields.

Abstract:We report a Cu(II)-catalyzed C-H amidation/cyclization of azomethine imines with dioxazolones as acyl nitrene transfer reagents under additive- and ligand-free conditions. An array of 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine derivatives were afforded in moderate to good yields with excellent functional group tolerance. In addition, scale-up reaction and photoluminescence properties were discussed.

Abstract:A convenient, efficient, and practical copper-catalyzed one-pot method for the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazoles has been developed via reactions of amidines. The procedure underwent sequential base-promoted intermolecular coupling (nucleophilic substitution) between two amidines and intramolecular aerobic oxidative dehydrogenation, and the inexpensive, convenient, and efficient method for the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazoles will attract much attention in academic and industrial research.

Abstract:In this study, an efficient strategy was developed for constructing of 3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-ones via copper-promoted [3+2] annulation of amidines hydrochlorides and isocyanates, involving nucleophilic attack of amidines on isocyanates and copper-promoted N-N oxidative coupling. Various amidine hydrochlorides and isocyanates are well tolerated by the reaction conditions, affording the target products in acceptable yields. The advantages of this procedure include high atom economy, easy operation, and the use of cheap raw materials.

Abstract:The reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with methylhydrazine in refluxing acetic acid generated 2-methyl-4-aryl-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles in good yields. The method was developed by the reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with phenylhydrazines in the presence of cupric ion, leading to 2,4-diary-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles. The structures were established on the basis of corresponding IR, 1H NMR, and elemental analysis data.

Abstract:Copper-catalyzed intermolecular annulation of 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines and aryl nitriles for the synthesis of [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazines via N-C bond formation and oxidative N-N coupling [oxidative 3 + 2 cyclization] is presented. A wide range of aryl nitriles, including electron-rich benzonitriles, electron-poor benzonitriles, 2-cyanothiophene, and 4-cyanopyridine, were all functionalized with 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines. Furthermore, amidation of 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines via Cu-catalyzed C-CN bond cleavage of phenylacetonitriles is also demonstrated. The reaction occurred in moderate to satisfactory yields and tolerated alkyl- or aryl-substituted 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines. Aniline, aminopyridine, and aminopyrimidine also afforded the desired products.

Abstract:A novel strategy for catalytic synthesis of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazoles by non-noble molybdenum-catalyzed deoxygenative heterocyclization of 2-nitroazobenzenes is described, bearing a wide range of functional groups in good to excellent yields. The salient features of the transformation include the use of readily available substrates, valuable products and ease of scale-up. The mechanistic study indicates the reaction occurred via twice deoxygenation by Mo(VI)/Mo(IV) catalytic cycle from 2-nitroazobenzene, through the formation of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole-N1-oxide or nitrene intermediates.

Abstract:A number of enamine-functionalized 1,2,3-triazole derivatives have been prepared via the Cu-catalyzed three-component reaction of terminal alkyne, azide, and 2H-azirine. The reaction proceeds through insertion of vinyl nitrene into the C-Cu bond of the triazolyl-Cu species, providing an efficient and step- and atom-economic approach to the enamine-bearing polysubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles. The resulting triazoles were easily transformed to trisubstituted pyrazoles in the presence of a Rh catalyst.

Abstract:C-H amination of arenes directed by weakly coordinating Weinreb amides has been achieved with an iridium catalyst and 2,2,2-trichloroethoxycarbonyl (Troc) azide as an aminating agent, providing a robust method of producing synthetic useful ortho-TrocNH aryl Weinreb amides. Taking advantage of the reactivity of Weinreb amide and Troc groups in the amination products, selective hydrolysis was achieved as an attractive process for the synthesis of ortho-NH2 aryl Weinreb amides, which are the building blocks useful in the synthesis of bioactive compounds, and cascade aminocyclization with primary amines was successful and provided an efficient pathway for the construction of quinazolin-2,4-diones, which are present in various alkaloids and natural products.

Abstract:A general and practical method for the construction of various 3,4,5-trisubstituted 1,2,4-triazoles via I(2)-catalyzed cycloaddition of N-functionalized amidines with hydrazones is reported. This strategy features cheap and readily available catalyst and starting materials, broader substrate scope, and moderate-to-good yields. The mechanism study shows that the existence of hydrogen on the nitrogen of hydrazones is crucial for this transformation.

Abstract:Heterocyclic compounds bearing 1,2,3-triazole scaffolds have found wide application both in medicinal chemistry and materials science. In this paper, rhodium(iii)-catalyzed triazole-directed alkylation reactions of arenes using diazo compounds as the alkylating agents are described. A number of polysubstituted arenes were provided from easily available materials in good yields under mild conditions. The reactions proceed via triazole-directed ortho C-H bond activation and subsequent carbene insertion originating from diazo compounds.

Abstract:A new methodology for the Cu-catalyzed synthesis of 1H-1,2,3-triazoles from 1,1-dibromoalkenes and sodium azide is presented. Aryl dibromoolefins were efficiently converted into the corresponding 1,2,3-triazoles. A comprehensive number of functional groups were compatible with this reaction. 1,2,3-Triazoles were obtained in moderate to excellent yields.

Abstract:1,2-Dihydro-1,3,5-triazine compounds were synthesized through three sets of reactions of amidines with, respectively, paraformaldehyde, aldehydes and N-arylnitrones under different conditions. The catalysts used in these three reactions were Cu(OAc)2, ZnI2 and CuCl2·2H2O, respectively. Most of the substrates tested for these reactions provided the target products in moderate to good yields. In the reactions involving paraformaldehyde, Cu(OAc)2 also accelerated the release of formaldehyde from paraformaldehyde during the catalytic reaction process. In the case of the reactions involving nitrones, CuCl2·2H2O not only catalyzed the normal progress of the main reaction, but also promoted the reaction of nitrones to produce nitroso compounds and aldehydes.
