Abstract:MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous non-coding small RNAs of 22 nucleotides in length that are found in most eukaryotes.Although miRNAs are highly evolutionally conserved, they show temporal and tissue specificity. They transcriptionally and posttranscriptionally regulate gene expression by completely or imperfectly base pairing with the 3'untranslated region (3'-UTR) of target mRNAs and modulate cell proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation.MicroRNA-155 (miR-155) is a typical representative miRNA,and abnormal expression or dysfunction of miR-155 function not only affects the development of inflammation and autoimmune diseases, but also plays an important role in tumor proliferation and apoptosis. In recent years,it has been found that miR-155 plays an important role in the differentiation, morphology and function of the liver, and is associated with the development, diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases.
