Factors Related to Caries Increment-a Two-Year Following Up in Schoolchildren

Abstract:Objective To analyze influence facts on caries increment in a two-year following up in schoolchildren. Methods Subjects were 175 of 12～14 years old schoolchildren.DMFS,plaque scores and oral health behavior were recorded in baseline,year 1 and year 2 examinations.Meanwhile dental plaque were collected and analyzed for Ca,P and F in baseline and year 1.Results By multiple regression and logistic regression past caries experience (DMFS in baseline) was significantly related to caries increment.By Student t-test frequency of snack consumption was more in subjects with new caries than subjects without new caries. Conclusion Without dental care, caries' susceptivity of subjects would continue if oral lealth behavior has not been changed.
