Abstract:Most traditional expert systems are based on symbolic representation and deduction. The problems of undesirable completeness and precision of symbolic representation lead to complex deduction process. Fuzzy cognitive map(FCM) is effective for fuzzy information representation. FCM was used to map system knowledge into fuzzy state sets; then the fixed relationship weight values were transformed into dynamic values by the Relationship Mapping Function. Object-oriented method was used to build a agent model. Agent knowledge was described by inner components and joint weights between them. Inference was carried out by numerical computation instead of symbolic deduction. This reasoning model is easy to implement and is characterized by high applicability.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of knowledge sharing process and way, a three-layer reference object model for supporting knowledge sharing management is developed according to the dual features of knowledge and with the help of object-oriented analysis approach. The framework of knowledge agent, knowledge and knowledge sharing scenario in the model is proposed and designed in detail respectively.Domain of enumerable attributes is also discussed. The model and the framework in this paper are a good reference to develop the knowledge sharing software.

Abstract:A hierarchical framework for product knowledge management was presented to represent,reuse,share and exchange product knowledge.Integrating the contents in 3D models and product design knowledge,the framework is divided into three levels: metadata layer,ontology layer and application layer.Data in the metadata layer is automatically extracted from standard for the exchange of product model data(STEP) files.The metadata layer is used to precisely navigate for product data.Based on a layered product model,the ontology layer is constructed to represent product data in a general and uniform way.By mapping between form-features extracted from 3D models and ontology concepts,a new retrieval mechanism on the application layer bridgeds the gap between semantic-based approaches and case-based approaches.A prototype system was implemented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectivity of the advanced methodology.

Abstract:A methodology of ontology modeling on educational domain based on knowledge engineering was proposed to solve the problem of difficulty to construct domain knowledge ontology for multi-subjects. A complete ontology constructional model was built by defining domain knowledge scope, extracting concepts from domain knowledge, defining taxonomy and constructing relationship model based on concepts aggregation. The process to build domain ontology was simplified and domain experts were enabled to develop course ontology autonomously. A use case of ontology modeling for unified modeling language (UML) course was introduced and discussed, and the feasibility of the methodology was evaluated.

Abstract:Medical knowledge base is an important asset for clinical decision support system (CDSS).Current CDSSs deployed in hospitals are mostly targeted at specific requirements (e.g.rational drug use,computeraided diagnosis),and their knowledge bases usually contain one specific type of knowledge.A comprehensive knowledge base that can coordinate different types of medical knowledge is essential for building integral and effective decision support applications.This paper proposes a knowledge representation method based on two-layer modeling.First,an epistemological model is constructed to cover various diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge types used in clinical settings,as well as their coordinative relationships.Then,based on specific reasoning and computation requirements,concrete representation formulisms are assigned to each knowledge type to form the final computational model.A clinical decision support system based on this two-layer modeling method has been running for more than 4 years in a Class Ⅲ hospital.Practices show that the system effectively solved the need of integrating and reasoning of different knowledge types,and has established a foundation for building integral and comprehensive knowledge applications.

Abstract:We are currently designing an object oriented model which describes static and dynamical knowledge in diff{\'e}rent domains. It provides a twin conceptual level. The internal level proposes: the object structure composed of sub-objects hierarchy, structure evolution with dynamical functions, same type objects comparison with evaluation functions. It uses multiple upward inheritance from sub-objects properties to the Object. The external level describes: object environment, it enforces object types and uses external simple inheritance from the type to the sub-types.

Abstract:Knowledge representation is one of the kernel problems in research of expert system. Production rule and procedure knowledge play an important role in the development of expert system. This paper analyzed and designed an inference model (RBIM) based on production system in object oriented programming language, which can combine representation of predication and procedure. On the basis of object oriented knowledge representation, the model supports proposition object, predication object and procedure object as basic element of production rule. RBIM provides a good interface on knowledge representation.

Abstract:Multiple-viewed requirements modeling allows requirement engineers to acquire the requirements of a system from different perspectives. Requirements are then specified in various UML models. Maintaining the requirements knowledge encoded in UML notations is tedious and error-prone, since most UML CASE tools provide poor support for reasoning and query. Ontology is a formal notation for describing concepts and their relations in a domain. Since requirement is a kind of knowledge, we propose to use knowledge engineering approach for managing the consistency and completeness of UML models. In this paper, an ontology for UML diagrams is coded in a semantic web language, OWL (Web Ontology Language). The transformation of UML Class Diagram, Sequence Diagram and State Diagram to OWL knowledge base is presented. In the end, a semantic query language, SPARQL, is used to query the knowledge base. We demonstrate the feasibility of this approach through an example software system.

Abstract:Designers often have difficulty in efficiently reusing and sharing the implicit knowledge in design activities, due to the lack of powerful knowledge management systems. The approach of representation of knowledge plays a crucial role in knowledge management systems. This paper proposed a multi-level knowledge representation ontology (KRO), formalized on three levels, i.e. part level, assembly level and product level. The logical structure for design object based on KRO is discussed. The organizational modeling of the knowledge base is also proposed. Finally the modeling of design knowledge is illustrated; further semantic representations of structural components and desired functions based on the KRO are demonstrated by concrete cases.

Abstract:A new implementation(SCKE-Structured Communication Knowledge Entity)has been proposed towards combining the logic with the object-oriented paradigm of computing.It is intended to explore the advatnages in these two paradigms in a structured,natural and efficient manner for large-scale knowledge processing.The SCKE model supports modularity and protection for the structured development of knowledge systems.It also introduces the concepts that are typical for the object-oriented systems in the logic-oriented paradigm,without losing its advantages as a declarative language.Various inheritance hierarchies are supported in the SCKE model.They provide the semantics basis basis for various knowledge in AI systems.The M-entity/K-entity/Instance inberitance captures the relationship among the control,procedural and factural knowledge in AI systems.And ,the super-entity/entity/instance inheritance shows the concepts of data abstraction in the knowledge of a particular domain.In addition,the SCKE model is not simply supported on top of Prolog like other attempts to integrate the object-into the logic-oriented paradigm.The SCKE model is a tightly coupled model of the logic and the object-oriented paradigm and its interpreter uniformly interprets the logic semantics and the object-oriented semantics.

Abstract:The Web is looking for intelligence, however the traditional knowledge representation methods are inadequate to facilitate human-machine interaction since they mainly focus on the results of the interaction, i.e. the knowledge in the "object" form. Based the analysis on machine languages and natural languages, we argued that a subject-oriented knowledge formalization supported by controlled natural language is an important way to bring human intelligence to the Web. Thus human-machine interaction should shift into the "What You Think Is What You Get (WYTIWYG)" paradigm. This user friendly method is useful when a large number of personal experiences are needed for sharing and reuse.
