The Development Trends of Modern Comparative Education Study

Abstract:The subject theory of comparative education is still a somewhat challenging topic. The study of modern comparative education is shifting: from macro-studies to micro-studies, and from giving attention to the educational system of a nation to concern for teaching methods and effects of a school; from the study of the developed countries mostly to the attention to the developing countries in Asia, Africa and America and global education; from introducing the advantages of foreign educational systems blindly to emphasis on the educational specialties of each country and the use of reference one another, from giving attention to a national educational system only to concern for the education of the weaker groups such as women, minorities; from giving attention to formal education of primary schools and middle schools merely to concern for formal education, informal education, irregular education and private education.
