Abstract:Nowadays,Science is in transition.As a new discipline driven by social needs,the construction of the postgraduate pedagogy discipline should adhere to the integration of theoretical logic and social logic in theory development.The author suggests that equal attention be paid to the encouragement for paradigm formation and multi-paradigm co-existence in disciplinary theoretical paradigm development.The author proposes that people should persist in the symbiosis of macroscopic theory and microcosmic theory in disciplinary theoretical system and persist in cooperation between researchers and practitioners in terms of discipline construction forces.

Abstract:Currently, occidental business schools have developed a systemic case-based teaching mode. Chinese educational circles introduced this method to China and acquired good results to some degree. We can copy case teaching format, yet it is tough to demonstrate the essence. There are still many problems: some cases do not match with Chinese context, the teachers can't guide the students very well, the education tradition constrains the students' participation, etc. In order to find a satisfactory way to facilitate management case teaching, this study, based on our recent interviews to university students and previous literature, will manifest the characters and process of occident case teaching, analyze the deficiencies of Chinese actuality about case teaching, try to build a model about case teaching performance, which contains case material quality, teacher guidance, student involvement, and culture background, etc, and provide relevant improvement suggestions. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:Within the sphere of contemporary social sciences, those terms as "modernity, post-modernity and globalization" have formed into a unique logic thread and predominantly penetrated into each field of social science.In constituting the concepts of "modernity" , sociology of education has developed the educational theory into "grand narrative" and "fundamentalism"; the contribution of post modernity is pluralism and self-examination in addition to its efforts to transcend modernity; If "globalization" is taken into account, the traditional polar terms like "nationality, society and inter-society" have been expanded to global society and the " modernity study paradigm ",namely"ethnocentrism,anthropocentrism and Occident centrism" have been abandoned. These changes have required urgent constitution of a new set of concepts.

Abstract:The methods of objectivism and relativism have existed since the very beginning of western philosophy,yet no solution has been found to well coordinate the use of the two methods.It is not advisable to set one against another.Depending on the research object and research purpose,emphasis may be given to either objectivism or relativism.For the phenomenon that can be easily defined and changes slowly,more use of objectivism is recommended,and for the phenomenon that is not easy to be defined and changes quickly,more use of relativism is recommended,so that reasonable explanation can be arrived at for social phenomena.

Abstract:The transdisciplinary shift of applied linguistics requires using innovative research methods to solve core problems and to develop its own methodological repertoire.Drawing on the transdisciplinary perspective, this paper first analyzes the ontological integration of subjectivity and objectivity, the epistemological perspective of knowledge as complex and emergent, and the logic of the Included Middle underpinning Q methodology.Then it differentiates Q methodology from other commonly used methods to highlight its methodological strengths, followed by a step-by-step explanation of its application and a thematic analysis of core topics.It concludes by pointing out future directions of Q method-driven research and discusses how to push the boundary of applied linguistics within the transdisciplinary shift.

Abstract:This article examines one major research journal from China and one from the United States. The study compares the two journals with regard to three questions: 1) Who is doing research published in the journals? 2) What are the major issues and concerns represented in the journals? 3) What research methodologies are favoured in the journals? The authors believe that understanding another country's educational research practices, through addressing these questions, can better enable domestic researchers, educators and policymakers to acknowledge the major educational concerns and issues that exist across countries. As boundaries between national borders continue to blur, this understanding can help educational researchers better interpret and present their findings with greater international relevance.
