Abstract:Leaves of centipedegrass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) were treated 12 h under low temperature (4?8?12 ℃) stress. The electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in leaves were increased slowly with the increasing temperature. Meanwhile, the activity of peroxidase (POD) was increased rapidly, free proline was greatly accumulated, and soluble sugar content was also efficiently increased with the temperature decreasing. The results showed that the centipedegrass had a strong cold resistance, and could adapt to low temperature stress and reduce the injury through a series of physiological and biochemical reaction.
