Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value of endoscopic biliary stent drainage for malignant obstructive jaundice.Methods Patients with obstructive jaundicewere selected and treated with consent by plastic endoscopic bile duet stents from Sep 2002 to Dec 2013.Success rate and survival were evaluated.A total of 52 patients with obstructive jaundice were treated and analyzed.Patients included 6 cases of gallbladder carcinoma,25 cases of head of pancreatic carcinoma and 20 cases of cholangiocarcinoma.Results Stents were successfully placed in all patients.The jaundice of all patients has decreased significantly(P 0.05).The average patency was 85.3 days.The average survival time was 165.7 days.Conclusion For patients with malignant obstructive jaundice biliary stent drainage is effective and safety.
